I am feeling nervous though around how easy it was to go ooh I’ll just grab a biscuit with that evening cup of tea this week 😔 I’ve worked so so hard to reset my food choices focusing on proteins, veg and low sugar honestly this drug has highlighted so so much to me how much genetics controls our choices and sugar is such a hard drug for me to break away from.

I agree with this. I haven't cured my eating at all. In fact I actively miss being able to scoff and have taken the odd week off so I can.

It must be so deeply ingrained in us. I just hole being thin will be the motivation I need to not gain again.

I am definitely going to set a max weight limit and tell myself that no matter what ( even if have an event)if I go over this weight I will have salads and soups for a week. Thats the plan anyway. Time will tell.

coffeeandteav · 23/11/2024 08:38

Hole=hope

daffodilandtulip · 23/11/2024 08:39

Week 23 weigh in, total loss 43lb. It's slowing down now but after meeting my target last week, I think I'm going for a 10st target, so 6lbs to go.

SW 15th June 13st 7lbs BMI 36.9
CW 10st 6lbs BMI 28.5

That's 22.7% of my body weight lost. It's crazy that my BMI is still so high but I refuse to go down as low as it suggests - between 6st 11 and 9st.

Also I really need new bras.

AutumnStorms11 · 23/11/2024 10:33

Well done @daffodilandtulip are you a shortie like me? I’d need to be 9st7 to be into the top end of healthy bmi. Im hovering at 10st now so hoping with this last pen if I can get to 9st7 it will give me that 7lb buffer wiggle room. I don’t want to be any lower than that as I don’t like how it makes me look. I’m currently in mix of size 12-14 clothes which I’m enjoying.

daffodilandtulip · 23/11/2024 10:42

Yes I'm just under 5 foot. I've still got a saggy belly but apart from that, I think I'd look old and ill if I was 7/8 stone. I think suggesting 6 stone for an adult is mad!

JomonotFomo · 23/11/2024 10:47

Well done friends!

SW 15st 12
CW 11st10

this weeks loss was 3lb bringing me to 4st 2 lost since beginning of June. bmi has gone from 35 to 27.

next mini goals are:

get to 11st 7
get to 11st 5 (4.5stone)
stay on the wagon over christmas!
hit the 10s

Im averaging about 8lb a month so whether I hit the 10s in 2024 or Jan - it could be close!

I can’t remember what my actual goal was, probably around 10.7?

Im still on 5mg, I’ve not needed to increase yet and still do get side effects at this dose so am sticking here.

AutumnStorms11 · 23/11/2024 11:31

Your doing really well @JomonotFomo its interesting how some of us are more sensitive to the drug than others. I wish there was more research into the genetic differences that impact how these drugs work. I’ve also not gone higher than 5mg as it’s been very effective. Yet without it I couldn’t lose barely more than 1lb a month doing exactly what I’m doing now. Yet I suspect I’ll need some long term maintenance to keep that sugar craving at bay.

TheShellBeach · 23/11/2024 11:43

I'm sure I'll need long-term maintenance.

I'm on 15mg now.

I can remember, way back in the 1970s, when I was young, slim and very active, that I had a much bigger appetite than everyone else. I could keep on eating long after everyone else had stopped.

I'm planning to stay on MJ if I find I need to - and I'm pretty sure that I will.

JomonotFomo · 23/11/2024 12:04

@TheShellBeach Im the same. I remember as a child going to friends houses and sharing a pizza between a family, like a quarter each. Whereas in my house, even though my sibling and I weren’t overweight as children we would eat a whole one each and still have room for more! We weren’t an active family either but we didn’t really have sweets often or snacks cos it was the 80s.

The puberty is when we both started to put on weight.

The food noise from then on was huge. Constantly thinking about food. Never ever full.

this and when I was on saxenda is he only time I’ve ever felt full in 46yrs.

I thought I might miss alcohol and binging but I just don’t. I love not being obsessed with the next thing to eat.

Callmejudith · 23/11/2024 12:23

I think my friends were quite shocked last night - it’s amazing how that last bit of weight really makes a huge difference. I felt so guilty not admitting to the MJ though especially to my friend who has always struggled the same as me.

OP posts:
AutumnStorms11 · 23/11/2024 13:04

Yes I’ve been the same @Callmejudith lost over 2-2.5st no comments but losing that next 0.5 stone has seen quite a few comments from random people. Some thought I was maybe ill as I’m looking the slimmest they have ever seen me. I hope you had a good night out though

Callmejudith · 23/11/2024 13:30

Yeah a guy at worked the other day said I’d had a glow up which really made me laugh. I suppose though I am wearing much nicer clothes which actually fit so that makes a huge difference

OP posts:
TheShellBeach · 23/11/2024 13:47

Is there a difference?

I know I weigh a lot less but I look the same, don't I?

I'm going to measure myself again.
My bras are definitely getting looser.

Actually, round the tops of my legs there's a difference.

Also, the blue leggings would barely go up my legs and over my waist when I took the first picture (in July).

daffodilandtulip · 23/11/2024 16:17

This is the first time since my fat ones and it was getting to the point where I may as not be wearing them 🙈

I really think you should tell that friend and swear her to secrecy. She must have felt really bad knowing she couldn't lose weight and you apparently can.

I know and that’s why I feel so shitty. There is absolutely zero chance of her keeping the secret though - zero! And I’ve told literally no one. It’s really hard.

OP posts:
MounjaroUser · 23/11/2024 18:04

Why couldn't she keep it secret?

There are people I haven't told but usually it's because of the judgement I'd face and the fact they'd say I hadn't suffered with the injections but would also probably die from the injections.

I wouldn't tell someone who was overweight if I thought they wouldn't stick it out - it's not a really easy option - or if I thought they couldn't afford it.

Callmejudith · 23/11/2024 18:28

There are no secrets in our friendship group. I know she’d also tell her mum, who would probably tell my mum, not worth it!

OP posts:
IReallyNeedThisToWork · 23/11/2024 20:14

@Callmejudith this is exactly why I DID tell a friend. I felt so shitty losing so much weight whilst she struggled so much and we talked about health, supplements and weight loss whenever we were together. She really wants to get rid of her food noise but her efforts have got her bmi down to 26😩 I do trust her completely not to say a word to anyone!

On a slightly different note, I had an asthma review yesterday and the nurse wanted to do my bmi and got very excited by how much I’ve dropped! I told her I was taking MJ and she was delighted asking all sorts of questions. Said she prescribes for diabetes. It was a very positive experience (not the review sadly😩)
