Bit of a milestone for me today 2 stone off and BMI down to 31. I’m finally starting to believe it and have bought some new clothes. A couple of people have noticed now which is always nice.

Just keeping on low dose (5mg) and loosing slow and steady, I did have a few weeks in the middle where I tried 7.5mg and lost more but felt miserable and very tired so keeping on low dose.

Callmejudith · 04/11/2024 12:46

Fantastic @Givemecoffee77

I went to H&M this morning and picked up a lovely pair of green work trousers - got a 14 with no elasticated waist and they fit. This is literally my dream. I am bloody delighted.

I am also obsessed with Dr Mindy Pelz and I think fasting is the way to go for me to maintain.

Well done @Callmejudith

Givemecoffee77 · 04/11/2024 13:39

That’s great @Callmejudith such a boost to buy clothes you like and not be squishing into them isn’t it.

Pashazade · 04/11/2024 16:31

@Callmejudith I'm a bit behind on the MJ journey, but I've done 16:8 fasting quite a lot over the last few years and it definitely helps me maintain my weight, even if I don't loose on it. Annoyingly DH just has to fast he does 24 hours and actually looses weight, however he is super supportive of me taking the MJ route so can't complain too much!

AutumnStorms11 · 04/11/2024 16:43

I’ve used the principle of fasting too whilst on MJ as I try to “shut my kitchen” in my head by 7pm and don’t eat until 9.30am most mornings so I daily do a 14-15hr fast quite easily along with focusing on less carbs and more protein on my plate. It does help me so I’m happy to carry on with that when off MJ but the danger zones were 3-4pm & 7-9pm the sugar munchies used to creep in and I could eat double my calories allowance in that window. I need to avoid that habit creeping back in.

Callmejudith · 04/11/2024 16:57

Thanks For the fasting tips! The one thing I struggle with is my morning coffee. I always have a cup of instant which actually I don’t even really like it’s just a massive habit!

OP posts:
Pashazade · 04/11/2024 16:59

Oh I still have my cuppa in the morning, I've been on skim milk for decades. But I don't have any actual food, still seems to work for me.

TheShellBeach · 04/11/2024 17:26

I fast for about 16 hours too, but for me, it doesn't include cups of tea.

I still have 9 million a day, at all times.

😂

Megarea · 04/11/2024 18:56

Thankfully @IReallyNeedThisToWork @achangeofnameisasgoodasarest feeling all better today! I should probably just chuck the portions in the freezer rather than risk them later but I balk at wasting the food/money.

achangeofnameisasgoodasarest · 05/11/2024 09:26

I had a bit of a shock yesterday - I've not weighed myself for absolutely years before starting this (too terrified) so had no idea what I'd weighed in the last decade or so at recent points.

However, I downloaded the NHS app and realised it had all the weigh ins from appointments I had from post children/40 year old check up etc. I'd never wanted to look at the scales when those were done - but when I looked back over them I realised I'm now lighter than at any point when I was weighed after having the kids.

They're now 17 and 15 so that is extraordinary! Quite emotional that I've been battling with this since they were dots and suddenly it is easy!

AutumnStorms11 · 05/11/2024 09:32

@achangeofnameisasgoodasarest ohh it’s so hard when numbers come with such emotional entanglement. I hope you feel lighter mentally and physically now. I struggled when I lost weight before as I looked more like my sister in the face it really spooked me as we’ve always looked different with me the round faced one. It messed with my head for a bit but this time I’ve just made peace with the fact I’m still me but I do look older now the fat has dropped off my cheeks I think.

Splendud · 05/11/2024 17:36

@achangeofnameisasgoodasarest I had a similar realisation recently when I scrolled back though My Fitness Pal. I'm currently 4lbs off the lowest weight I've been in a decade. It's mindblowing to me.

Finally hit the 3stone mark on MJ (and 3st 8lbs in total as I lost a bit before). I've been on MJ 21 weeks so I'm losing slower than some but I have a very underactive thyroid, so I am happy to be losing at all.

Still on 10mg and it's working so I am staying on this dose for now. Gives me the option of future increases if the weight loss stalls.

Need to sort through my wardrobe now as it's full of things that don't fit me any more. Have a black tie thing next month and have had to buy a new evening dress as my other ones drown me

TheShellBeach · 05/11/2024 18:51

I found that I did need to increase up to the 12.5mg.

For a couple of months, I stayed on 10mg. Then I stalled and decided to go up to the next level.

I'm fully intending to go up to the 15mg soon, as it's the same price as the 12.5mg.

TheShellBeach · 05/11/2024 18:53

And in fact, since going on to the 12.5mg my weightloss has started up again, and I've lost 6lb in two weeks.

TheShellBeach · 05/11/2024 18:53

I'm 14st 8lb now. I haven't been this weight for 18 years!
It's amazing.

Megarea · 07/11/2024 07:56

Second dose of second 10mg pen today.

SW 252.6 lb
CW 210.8 lb
Total loss: 41.8 lbs

After a big loss last week, had a 1.8lb gain this week. I know it's a blip so just working on relaxing and being patient as I know my eating hasn't changed.

It was DH saying the same thing to me that convinced me to try on the size 16s which had been sitting in a drawer.
I couldn't believe it when they fit.

I've got them in a 14 as well. Looking forward to putting them on.

Shall I buy the 12s? I really like them. And they'll fit in a few months.

🤣

Callmejudith · 07/11/2024 14:09

You know I'm going to say buy them!

Well, yes.

They've been in my basket for ages. And I've got a 20% discount to use at the moment.......... I'll be back soon.

Grin
TheShellBeach · 07/11/2024 14:22

Right, the deed is done.

I got 25% off, so even better.

Luckily, at this time of year, lots of packages get delivered, so DH won't notice................

😂

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 07/11/2024 14:40

Week 20 weigh in today after a bloody hard week (not MJ related). Lost 3lbs.

Fast 800 SW: 17 st 7lbs
MJ SW: 16st 12lbs
CW: 12st 13lbs

Hit 4 1/2 stone since May and 1lb from my 4th MJ stone.

I had set a Christmas target of being in the 12s. Guess I'd better revise that now!

Next big target is 11st 9lbs which will see my bmi drops under 30
