Another lb gone this morning. I'm 10lbs away from the weight I was in 2014 which is just mind boggling. I've lots and lots of weight still to lose but this time does feel different.

I'm reading up about strength training and wondering how to get started. I'm not brave enough for a gym though. Been there, done that and don't need that sort of judgement in my life. Anyone else trying to work out how to start exercising?

Hello thought I’d reply re strength training.
I worked with a trainer, a lovely lady in her 50s, who was very gentle, through the COVID years. Before I’d not so much as touched a dumbbell. I got my confidence up and learnt that I didn’t need to fear the weights.
If you can afford a trainer for a bit I would absolutely recommend looking for someone body positive to work with.
If that’s not an option and the gym remains too scary Apple Fitness + has great strength classes. It’s a tenner a month, lots of diff sessions. Get some 2/4/6kg weights off Amazon and off you go. Fits into your day at home. Defo no judgement from the screen. But it’s a curated set of workouts not how in the heck am I supposed to choose like on You Tube.
I have found a really welcoming space at my local independent, class based gym. I go twice a week, am seeing progress with what I can lift, now have a group of people I’m on chatty terms with but mostly just focus on me for an hour. Cannot recommend enough, if you can be brave.
One final question on exercise - are you walking, if you are able? Great for weight loss and helps keep legs strong. Added benefits being outside.

Last night I forgot to actually finish my tea. We had Mexican chicken and two mini corn on the cobs. I ate one, ate the chicken then put my plate on the side. Was very confused when I came to clear away where the second one had come from 🤣

Snozzlemaid · 16/10/2024 08:37

Weigh in day for me:
SW in May - 18st 6lbs
CW 14st 8lbs

Total loss of 3st 12lbs!!

I have to pinch myself sometimes as this doesn't feel real. I can't get used to my weight being 14 something!

I'm going to start my second 7.5 pen today. I do have a 10 as well in the fridge but 7.5 is still working well so I'll stick with this for now.

Wow well done..

I started August at 18st.6lb and now the scales are flicking between 15.13 and 16 stone.. so I'm hoping Monday I will see a 15.. but to read your seeing a 14 is amazing. Can't wait for that day

Snozzlemaid · 16/10/2024 10:37

@morbidcuriosity You're off to a brilliant start.
Time seems to be moving even more quickly than usual for me since I've started this, so in no time I'm sure you'll be seeing 14, then 13, then who knows what number on the scales.

AutumnStorms11 · 16/10/2024 18:43

@Splendud re- strength training you can do a lot with body weight to start with. Basic squats, lunges, plank, build up to press ups - lots of videos on you tube to help with technic. Definitely easiest thing to do is walk as fast as comfortable every day if you can start small and build up your time an hour a day is fab exercise toning legs and cardio with out impact. Things like do 10 squats whilst waiting for the kettle to boil or brushing your teeth is a great wait to build exercise into daily life.

I'm asking here ladies as you've all been on it longer (I only started end of September) has anyone taken a hit to their libido? Mine appears to have fallen off a cliff which is soooo annoying. Did it come back?

achangeofnameisasgoodasarest · 17/10/2024 09:30

Scales annoyingly flicking between 76 and 76.9 kilos for days now. BUT NSV I am wearing some jeans I have no recollection of buying at all and found in the bottom of my wardrobe. I think I probably bought them between having first and second child - an M&S 14, but a pretty snug one. Anyhow. they look great now and have become fashionable again - wide legs. The 17 year old approves of them.

Mine has upped and left the building (it was considering leaving anyway). Not a hint of a return. I started in June.

Love this!

I was out for a work dinner last night and over ate - urgh felt gross all night and barely slept. Glad that MJ is working still really!

Fourth dose of 10mg today.
SW 252.6 lb
CW 211.8 lb
Total loss: 40.8 lb

Technically a 3.2 lb loss this week but a large part of that came from replacing the battery in my scales really. However I'll take it!
Just another 1.2 lbs to get to 3 stone lost.

10mg seems to have almost no side effects for me so as long as I lose overall I'm sticking here for a while.

TheShellBeach · 17/10/2024 11:30

I'm going to go up to 12.5mg next time.

Has anyone else got there yet?

OrangeWire · 17/10/2024 12:17

Weigh day for me:

SW: 22st 11.8lbs
CW: 18st 13lbs
GW: 14st 10lbs (for now)

2 and a half pound loss for me this week, and I have hit the 18’s! I’ve measured as well, I do this monthly, and interestingly I’ve lost nearly 2 inches off my bust, and over an inch off my thigh, and about 1 inch off my waist which is different to previous months where the losses were seen mostly on my waist/hips. I have started weight training, mostly on my legs, but I wonder if it’s the rest of my body catching up on the initial losses seen mostly in my middle. I’d love to lose another stone by Christmas, I haven’t seen the 18’s in about 8 years and the 17’s would have been at least 10 years ago! It doesn’t feel real.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 17/10/2024 23:39

Weigh day here too 😁

Week 17. Still on 5mg and reckon I will be ordering a 4th pen!

Fast 800 SW: 17 st 7lbs
Loss: 9lbs
MJ SW: 16st 12lb
CW: 13st 6lbs

Loss this week - 2lbs

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 18/10/2024 08:03

@TheShellBeach my 12.5 just arrived. I'm tempted to stretch this out to 5 x 10mgs as this is still working for me.

Weigh day for me too yesterday.

2.4 off this week.
SW 17st 7.4
CW 13st 10.4

@OrangeWire @IReallyNeedThisToWork @Megarea good job! Great losses.

JomonotFomo · 18/10/2024 08:12

Weigh in today for me!

@IReallyNeedThisToWork i am still on level 5 too! My losses have slowed a bit but suppressing is still ok and I do still get side effects if I overeat on this dose (and sometimes when I don’t!) so I don’t fancy upping yet. Also it’s kind of at the stage where the initial can’t eat anything has worn off but I can’t generally manage more than a side plate portion (which is probably a standard healthy portion!) still zero interest in alcohol.

Anyway weigh in

Start Weight: 15st12
current weight: 12st5
total loss 49lb (3.5stone!) and 22% of my body weight 😮

Next goal (if I remember right, is to lose 5.5lb and get to the 11s) that’s probably a month or so off because things have slowed quite a bit, but that’s ok!

Callmejudith · 18/10/2024 10:12

Amazing losses gang!

I had a work night out last night and had so many lovely compliments it was so nice

Wow some brilliant losses so inspiring. I had weigh in day today but just maintained around the same 0.5lb up down. I’m having a very stressful time with my youngest teen and previously at times of high stress I would gain & overeat. MJ is holding me steady but I’m running more and enjoying it for my mental health a lot. I’m within 14lbs of my goal so I think these last lbs are going to be very slow. Plus I’m definitely struggling with regulating my temperature more really feeling the cold despite many layers.

Sorry to hear about the stressful time your having. I just wanted to say I share the chilly feeling. Definitely lost my fat coat!

daffodilandtulip · 19/10/2024 08:20

End of week 18 weigh in, second week on 10mg:

SW: 13st 7lb
CW: 10st 12lb

Total loss 37lb

That's 19.5% of my body weight. Like how can a fifth of me be gone?!

Now I'm only 5lb away from my original target but I still look fat. Not stressing about it, will just see what happens. Obviously delighted with my loss and keep looking at how little random things like my fingers are!

Currently having a winter coat dilemma, trying to find my favourite coat in a 10 but can't, so floating around looking ridiculous in an 18. Have bought another one that does fit, but it's just not as comfy. Have replaced another jacket, love the replacement, but daren't get rid of the old one I loved, just in case. I'm outside a lot for work so I have to get this right and all it's resulting in is a line of coats on my door. Thank goodness for Vinted 🤣

coffeeandteav · 19/10/2024 08:32

Well done daffodil that is amazing.

Weigh in day for me. Still in 7.5mg.

Week 2-3
Week 3 -2
Week 4-4
Week 5-5 14.0
Week 6 -2 13.12
Week 7 +1 13.13

week 8 -6 13.7

Week 9 -2 13.5

Week 10-2 13.3

Week 11+3 13.6
Week 12 -4 13.2
Week 13+3 13.5
Week 14 -2 13.3
Week 15 0 13.3
Week 16 -3 13.0
Week 17-2 12.12
Week 18 -0 12.12
Week 19-2 12.10

Only 2lbs off three stone.

coffeeandteav · 19/10/2024 08:35

@AutumnStorms11
I am definitely with you with the stressful teen. That's a whole other thread. Feel like I have aged 20 years in the last 3. Without MJ I would probably be two stone heavier than my start weight.

pinkstinks · 19/10/2024 09:08

Morning all - moved up to 5 mg this week and have had some burps and nausea - sticking to my healthy meals though and feeling like the suppression is back - much less snacking.

feel like it’s moving again and got a milestone this week!

started 22stone (lost 1st solo)
started mj 21 stone
This week 17.13

i can’t really believe it. I haven’t weighed this low in about ten years. Mj is a lifesaver.

Callmejudith · 19/10/2024 09:52

More brilliant losses! I’m starting my final pen today which feels a bit scary but I’m happy with how I’m feeling and if I can lose a bit more in the next 5 weeks I’ll be delighted. I have one pair of trousers that I’m trying to get into so let’s see if that happens! I’m also super confident that I’m not going to revert back to my old habits

OP posts:
daffodilandtulip · 19/10/2024 20:58

Oh @Callmejudith I'm so scared about that day! I'm not convinced my habits will change without this magic telling my head I don't like sweets anymore!
