I was thinking this morning that I'd love to see what everyone here looks like, but also that I'd never ever share my photos bc I value my privacy! But the body shape/size thing is real. I've always been very curvy - large boobs, small(er) waist: large hips, chubby cheeks - so tho I've nearly lost 2 stone (!!!!) I don't really see that difference in the mirror. But I am now fitting back into size 16s again, and my tummy is definitely less like a pillow strapped to my front again, so something is changing.

As ever, really appreciate you all being here.

Glittermoonlight · 04/10/2024 13:44

Congratulations🎉 @Blondeshavemorefun on your loss for this week! And good luck with your flu/ Covid jab!
And congratulations 🎉@NippyCrab on your loss also!
Also 🎉@MelainesLaugh on your loss- great you’re doing well on 5mg.

I’m sorry @WitchDancer that some might feel disheartened reading some of the posts, I think we all have to try & remember that just like any medication they’ll be a huge difference between how we all react, also if we loose quickly or slowly so many factors can contribute, age, disabilities, other medication we’re on etc…. But what we do know from the research is that after 6-9 months a high proportion of people taking MJ will have lost a significant amount of weight. Whether that’s at a lower dose or a higher dose.
The side effects can be crippling for some people. I’m lucky I haven’t had horrible side effects so far. I do how ever have a severe allergy to another drug. Just been lucky on MJ so far! early days! Ha ha!
But hugs 🤗 to anyone feeling disheartened.

Just had my 3rd 5mg jab today. Only lost 1lb this week, but that’s ok. It all adds up. In 2 weeks I can start 7.5 so not long.

itwasnevermine · 04/10/2024 13:57

Just realised I have accidentally booked to go away (and go to a football game!!) on jab day 🙄 any travel case recommendations etc., would be appreciated!

NippyCrab · 04/10/2024 13:57

Go blondes.🥳 you've found your dose!
I'm an August 2.5mg responder 🤣 I don't think I'll ever move up tbh. I had a convo with my GP this morning about my sensitivity to meds, we've just got my HRT at the correct dose now after ages. I spoke about my low mood and agitated state and we both agree it's not MJ. I have posted about this and I know some people have been affected so I thought I'd report back. Although I was low, I was more agitated and reactive so we've got that resolved hopefully.
One thing that was mentioned was the shorter days and some people could be affected by less light now with the seasons changing.
Everyone is doing so great on this journey despite the side effects and hurdles so go team August 👏 ❤️❤️💐💐

@Wingingit11 yes I work nights - hence I waffle a lot daytime on here

@FlappingMadly not sure of sugar. Will look next time in shop as packaging in the bin

@lookathatbookcase I'm a typical pear. Child bearing hips - big tummy and bum and boobs

@Glittermoonlight thanks and Arms ok at moment

Think it was a day or so later last time

interesting average lost over 6/9mths

Maybe come Xmas we should all
Compare and see how we've done over the 5mths or so

@NippyCrab very envious that 2.5 works for you

10 def did for me. Will see what 7.5 is like

@itwasnevermine for you /clothes or mj pen

Pen haha, should've specified that really!

Glittermoonlight · 04/10/2024 14:34

@Blondeshavemorefun I worked nights for years, just stopped last December. They really messed up my eating habits, too much coffee & biscuits to keep me going through the night!!😂
I cannot wait to hear how all us August groups progress is by Christmas!

FlappingMadly · 04/10/2024 14:35

Friday weigh in aand I’m down a kg, whoop! I had a sneaky look a few days ago and had dropped a second - don’t know what happened.
My morning coffee usually gets things moving but no joy. I ended up having three - nothing other than heartburn 🙄

You sound similar to me

My pic I did in august isn't the most flattering

I may post on here one day - but then it is there forever 🙀🙀🙀

itwasnevermine · 04/10/2024 14:41

I've worked out that with my current 5mg pen and my next 5mg, I have 6 x 5 doses aka 30mg. So I've worked out that I can do 3 weeks at 6.25 and one at 7.5 before moving up to 7.5 at the end of the month, which is nice

Sounds a plan

Well done @FlappingMadly that's over 2lbs

Weird how some of us weight in kg and stone like me stone and lbs

Interesting! I might follow suit.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/10/2024 13:10

Wow 2stone almost. You must be so chuffed

Are you moving to 7.5

I am thank you .I am planning to move up yes trying to assess which is cheapest site to buy from. No loyalty from me!

itwasnevermine · 04/10/2024 14:52

@FlappingMadly I'd move up to 7.5 but im a bit worried about side effects!!

weaseleyes · 04/10/2024 14:54

I'm down 3lb this week, which I'm very pleased about, but I think I may be even more pleased about @Blondeshavemorefun's loss. I've been very over-invested in her plateau and lack of suppression!

Very rarely post on other threads, but I do post on this one as I don't discuss weight or MJ IRL. I always feel like an unpopular poster wherever I post (so would like to fight @MelainesLaugh for the title), but on this one I've got so much benefit from reading other people's posts, whatever they're experiencing, that I figure I should contribute something even if it's just a dull drop in the ocean.

Shape-wise, I am very short and have a stocky build, so that even when I am very thin I look fairly sturdy. At this size, I am almost spherical! I really think I've been in denial about it - not about how fat I am, but that I imagine it's somehow not fully visible to people as long as I don't have my photo taken or something. Anyway - three pounds off a 2 stone lost, but at least three more stone to go.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/10/2024 14:59

Well done @weaseleyes and follow away my lack of previous suppression and plateax for weeks on end

@itwasnevermine I'm
Thinking about changing suppliers for 10 as starts to get costly

7.5 was ok at think £170

Always been with med express and cba with the having to resend pics and weight and previous mj labels if I change

And they are good /quick at getting back to me - whether hot melted pen in hot weekend in aug/sept we had (tho unlikely now in October) v no needles and do courier quickly

But be nice if companies awarded you a Discount for being loyal - rather than for new users

Wingingit11 · 04/10/2024 15:00

@itwasnevermine can you not just jab a day early/ before you leave ?

We leave early Saturday morning so it would be two full days early on the Friday night 🙃 silly me for booking this really

@Blondeshavemorefun yes I agree it should be cheaper for those of us using the same supplier again and again!

FlappingMadly · 04/10/2024 15:09

Yes I agree @Blondeshavemorefun it seems unfair not to get loyalty points or a discount. Plus Voy implied to me that that referrrals would be allocated to me as they happened but in fact they only refer to that month.

Bellyblueboy · 04/10/2024 16:11

I am now nearly 24hours after my second 2.5 job and I am starving! Worried I have now totally lost suppression. Anyone have hungry days bit go back to stronger suppression?

20bloodypounds · 04/10/2024 16:12

@Blondeshavemorefun I'm going on an exotic holiday in a coupoloe of months so had a total of 6 vaccinations yesterday. Delayed my MJ until today as I think there might be a limit to what my body will cope with!

I tried the hard twist for my bonus dose and although it broke and clicked round to '1' the plunger wouldn't depress properly so I ended up injecting with an insulin syringe instead.

@Arraminta I'm like you, small, slight build but apple shaped. With probably 35lbs to lose. But I have the metabolic health issues associated with an overweight apple - high blood pressure and pre-diabetic. We are all on out own journeys.

I'm on the September threads but I always get great advice on here so I read everything and post occasionally.

Yes! My suppression seems to jump around throughout the week

NippyCrab · 04/10/2024 16:24

I'm going to Jab today with a syringe 💉 and use my extra dose that way. Keeping it at 2.5 of course or my sensitive wee body will go into meltdown 😂

Tbh 2.5 is a starter jan to get you used to it so don't worry too much and order 5

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/10/2024 16:43

@20bloodypounds all are welcome and a holiday sounds lovely
