@KittyGetSmall I do weigh daily and like seeing the trends but you have to remember that daily fluctuations aren't accurate. No one is gaining or losing 1 lb of fat in 24 hours if will be water that's causing those fluctuations. So the important figures are the long term trends. I've attached my daily weight graph and you can see it zig zags but most importantly the last reading is way below the first and the overall trend is downwards.

Can someone talk me through getting the bonus dose out of the pen please? An idiots guide, step by step……..you get the picture. Assume I will have just done my 5th 2.5 dose but want to increase it a little bit. To bring it up to 3……..then what? (I will have the bonus dose in my previous pen)Thanks.

I do love the fact that I can ask total strangers for help or advice or just pick up tips as I read through some of the posts!

Justasmallgless · 11/10/2024 09:10

Well done losers 👏👏👏
Fabulous results here and just think how much healthier you are.

I've now lost more than a sperm whale's brain -17lbs.

Onwards and downwards - week 3 of 5mg injection today

EBoo80 · 11/10/2024 09:24

I had put on weight the week my period started and then seemed to plateau, which was a bit disheartening. But just had the predicted whoosh and am over the moon.

6 jabs in (4 at 2.5, no bonus dose then 2 at 5) and I’m just delighted. Wondering whether I might actually hit goal weight before Christmas which would be amazing.

20bloodypounds · 11/10/2024 09:40

I made a big veggie meal for a family dinner last night. Well that didn't go well for me in the night. Warning: a side of braised red cabbage, beetroot and pears in red wine - too much for a body on MJ, even a low dose!

Gentle eating today...

Elephantino · 11/10/2024 10:00

Well done on all the losses 📉 stay the same and even small gains. Your body is going through changes and ups and downs are normal.

End of week 6 for me
SW 222
CW 213
Lost 2 lbs this week but had gained a pound a a half last week. 9lbs lost since 1st Sept. The biggest difference for me has been how much my body shape has changed. I was wearing a size 20 before, I'm now wearing size 16 comfortably and would never have dropped 2 dress sizes with 9lbs loss before.

I did 3.75 last week and going to continue with that this week. I didn't feel the tail off in suppression on day 5 with this dose, I always did on 2.5.

Was unwell the last week with a virus so will be interesting this week to see if the nausea was actually down to MJ or not. It did feel virusy related though.

sylv165 · 11/10/2024 10:07

That is interesting that you have gone down so many dress sizes @Elephantino! That must feel like a real win. I have lost 10lbs so far and I am surprised that I haven’t noticed a bigger difference in my clothes, but I think I was really wedging myself into my size 14s rather than admit I needed to go up to a 16. They are a bit comfier now 🙈🤣

B3gum2024 · 11/10/2024 10:12

I started mounjaro 4 weeks ago, have ordered the 5mg dose now. Worried about side effects. But I have lost 10 pounds so far which is great! Also noticed losses in inches and clothes fitting much better

SwiftiesVSLestat · 11/10/2024 10:42

Morning all

@skiptrip i am not on any birth control but I don’t weigh the week of my period. Because even though I know it’s not fat. I also find it disheartening. If you don’t know when to expect that then I would bet it’s feels worse. I am sure it will show a loss soon.

Quick question. I took my first 5mg on Tuesday at 6pm. At 4pm I started with a grumbling stomach and had the runs. Didn’t really think about it as the previous day I ate a lot of fibre and assumed it was that and did my first 5mg injection.

About 7pm I got the runs again and the. At 8. Wednesday and Thursday, daytimes I have been fine, but I have been getting up to in the middle of the night due to diarrhoea. Last night it was 3 times.

Although it started before my injection, I am thinking of dropping down to 3.75mg. Does anyone have any thoughts? Is it a good idea or a daft one. I have had no other symptoms. But did get my period yesterday.

Can’t work out wether it’s due to the jab or not.

Hildabaggins · 11/10/2024 12:57

I’m still on 2.5mg and I’ve not had any side effects like that @SwiftiesVSLestat.

I weigh myself every day but have my official weigh in on a Thursday. After my disappointment of only losing 1lb overall last week, I was 2lb lighter today! Isn’t it amazing how happy it makes you feel to see the numbers go down?

I have 1lb to go and then I will have lost 1st since I ordered my first pen on 4th Sept. I lost a couple of lbs myself before I started.

I feel like I am finally making progress after 18 months of losing half a stone and putting it back on again on repeat.

I'm afraid I'm not a lot of help. I used a syringe for the bonus dose - found it really easy! I got about 7mg of solution so am assuming it was over 2.5 (which I think is in 5mg of solution). Hopefully someone else can advise on using the pen for the bonus dose and how many clicks it would involve?

alwaysscared · 11/10/2024 15:07

Weigh in day and 6th jab of 2.5 today. Total weight loss is 20lbs!
I feel awful today, had bad stomach yesterday and today it has been pretty explosive (sorry, TMI). I am also on a laxative prescribed by the doc as I was previously constipated. But I've been on the laxative for about 2 weeks and not had this reaction before, they just kept me regular. So I don't know why I feel like this today, maybe it's a bug?! Im a carer for my disabled son and my husband has had to take the day off work to help today, which I feel guilty about. My stomach feels like it's in knots 😢

20bloodypounds · 11/10/2024 15:52

@1957Bev I watched a youtube video on how to do it. I did exactly what was suggested (and what lots of other people do). The pen 'broke' I could click it round from 0 to 1 (as with a normal injection) but then the plunger wouldn't depress. I ended up having to order a box of 1ml insulin syringes so I'll just go with that next time.

Even if the hard twist on the pen works, you will only get a normal full dose, so 2.5mg. If you plan to take a little more you're probably best off with a syringe anyway. A normal dose is 0.6ml. Most people find that after their 4 regular doses they can use a syringe to get somewhere between 0.6ml and 0.9 ml - depending on how much liquid you used when you were priming your pen. If you were lucky enought to get 0.9ml, that you give a MJ dose of 3.75mg, which is halfway between your current pen and the 5mg pen.

I'm pretty much the same as you. Started at the same time and 13lbs down. Hopeful for the next elusive pound to reach that one stone milestone.

20bloodypounds · 11/10/2024 15:57

@alwaysscared oh you poor thing, I hope you feel better soon. It is easy to feel guilty on a day like today, but remember that in taking this approach and managing your weight you are making a really good investment for your future health. Long term, that will be important for you, your son, and the rest of your family.

I snuck a sneaky weigh in a day ahead of the end of week 5 for me, and I am total weight lost of 20lbs!

SW 225
CW 205

I've an event on the 25th October, and my goal was to be a stone down for that, so I've smashed that. I'm now wondering if I can aim for 2 for the one after that on the 15th November. It's 5 weeks to lose 8lbs, so it's achievable.

If I make it, I do, if not, it's all progress.

I've also lost about 1.5inches off my waist and hips. I'm moving much more than I was, but I'm and enjoying it for the first time in ages.

Starving today, About to do my 1st 'higher' dose tonight, although I am planning to creep up rather than go straight for 5.

Elephantino · 11/10/2024 16:06

@sylv165 thanks, I am really pleased. I was wearing a 20 as the 18 was soooo tight on me so the 20 was probably a bit big on me but I'm still so pleased. I usually don't go down a size till I lose over a stone

alwaysscared · 11/10/2024 16:07

About to take 3rd dose of 5mg pen. 2 stone gone in 6 weeks and people are starting to notice! I need to up the exercise now as feeling smaller but wobblier! Can’t believe how close I am to being under 200lb, I genuinely thought I never would be again.

20bloodypounds · 11/10/2024 22:32

@EJA24 That is truly awesome. This whole regime must be working for you. How are you eating, and do you think you can continue that?

SwiftiesVSLestat · 12/10/2024 06:03

Morning all. Period day 3 so I got weighed. It’s been 11 days since I got weighed, I won’t weigh going into my period.

Lost 4lb since my last weigh in. Which makes 21lb down since starting on 4th September.

Ironically, I now weigh 0.2lb less than when I bought the scales 3 years ago when I started yet another healthy eating plan. I lost 2 stone during that bout of healthy eating. Then my mum died and it all went to shit. I put the two stone back on then all the extra.

Weighing less than when I got the scales was my first mini goal. My next is to get the next 2 stone off to get to the lightest I have been while I owned these scales. Which I hope to get to by end of January. Would be nice to get there before Christmas but that would mean almost 3lb off every week and don’t want to put myself under that pressure.

Going to treat myself to getting my nails done this morning.

Onwards and upwards (or would it be downwards 😂)

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

InfoSecInTheCity · 12/10/2024 07:42

@SwiftiesVSLestat back during Covid lockdown I went on a massive health kick and managed to get down to 173 lb which is the lowest my weight has ever been since I was an adult.

I was overweight as a kid and remember being 11st something when I was 11 yrs old.

Mentally 173 lb feels like a force field I need to get to and then break through.

EatingTillIDie · 12/10/2024 08:52

Just taken my 7th dose. Still hovering close to the 18st mark. That is a damn stubborn number. My eating has reduced massively but my dinner portion is still too large. I'm struggling to figure out what to eat. Busy working mum with family of fussy eaters.

I am going to take the tip above about loading up on veg at meal times. I just feel so uninspired by eating at all that I reach for easy energy. I'd like to eat little and often to maintain energy levels, any tips? I have a bowl of fruit on my desk for snacking, what else would be good to graze on? If I can nail that id like to skip meals altogether as they are just so unhealthy in our house. My eating has always been dysfunctional so if I sound like I have no idea how a normal person eats that's accurate!

85reasons · 12/10/2024 08:57

@EatingTillIDie I get that - it's hard to want to eat proper meals (or in my case, go to the effort of making anything complex - I tend to cook something amazing up for my teenagers but then not bother for myself). I do try to start the day with something I love and that's healthy (I have Greek yoghurt with some chopped air fried apple chunks) and try to stay in the 'three meals a day' rhythm as much as possible from then on.

85reasons · 12/10/2024 09:03

I took my dose a few hours early this week, having it before bed last night instead of this morning. I'd had a hungry day yesterday although still managed to eat well. I'd had a BUPA health check booked in through work and was very glad to be doing that a few weeks into this - my BMI was down to 28 having been 30/31 when I started.

Having had the bad nausea last week this time I took 3.5mg dose from my 5mg pen. I think I'll put a consultation in with Oushk to discuss approaches - I'm nervous of having that same side effect again although have ordered some cyclizine just in case.
