I’ve just done my bonus dose, I got about 3.3mg from what was left in the pen. I’ll see how I feel on that dose before I decide what to do next week, I have a 5mg pen but I might do 3.75mg to start with or even just 2.5mg.
I’m going on holiday for the October half term so I probably will have to miss a week, we’re going with some friends and I don’t fancy having side effects while on holiday, also not too sure on the logistics of taking the pen abroad!

Thanks for the kind words all and congratulations to those seeing new starts on the scale. I grew up with kilos rather than stones and x stone doesn't "mean" anything to me. I have no value judgments and don't think any stone number as being heavy or light, but each 10 unit of kilos I associate with something. I think I prefer the stones and it's all so neutral in my mind. Not sure if I'm making any sense here!

@Babycakes39 glad to hear you're home. Do they think the inflammation is due to MJ or something else if you don't mind me asking? Obviously please ignore if I've overstepped and regardless, wishing you a continued smooth and quick recovery.

spinningisthebest · 08/10/2024 14:38

10 lbs off so far - I know I'm slower than many but hope that if it comes off slowly I can make it stick. Just had dose 2 of 5mg- moving up the nausea was a bit worse so have been avoiding breakfast completely which has helped. DH valiantly tells me he can see a difference, my clothes certainly fit better and it is clear to me that when I had blamed clothes for shrinking in the wash I was barking up the wrong tree. No one else has noticed yet. Am finding the calorie counting tedious but pleased that portion control is so much easier. I have had the odd treat- mainly 2 squares of dark chocolate but have also waved usual treats aside without a qualm. Am hoping to train myself over the next few weeks to listen to my body better.

Sadteacher · 08/10/2024 15:44

@spinningisthebest im pretty much the same, 9.5lbs down and had 2 jabs of 5. The second 5mg jab I had a lot of nausea but only for a couple of days. Not as rapid as some people ( probably as I haven’t gone off wine!) but I can feel my shape really changing.

SpottyBumPony · 08/10/2024 15:57

Week 6, I went to a weight and strength class at the gym last week and am booked in again for tomorrow. I’m very proud of myself for being brave and going.

30/08/2024 - 122.5kg
03/09/2024 - 120.9kg, first dose 2.5 of MJ
10/09/2024 - 118.3kg, second dose 2.5 of MJ
17/09/2024 - 116.2kg, third dose 2.5 of MJ
24/09/2024 - 112.4kg, forth dose 2.5 of MJ
01/10/2024 - 112.4kg, fifth dose 2.5 of MJ
08/10/2024 - 111.0kg, sixth dose 2.5 of MJ

Loss - 11.5kg … an average 2 year old 👦
Goal - to be in the healthy BMI range (70.3kg)

No worries at all, I've no idea. Still waiting on the stool sample results to see if it's a viral illness or not. I really hope it is as I can feel lots of people around me already talking about it like it is the weightloss injections. I'm desperate for it to be something else just to shut them up. I'll let you all know when I find out xx

Peachesandfizz · 08/10/2024 20:52

Few days in to my first 5mg and my nausea has gone and my appetite is well and truly suppressed too.
Only current side effects are feeling absolutely bloody freezing cold and feeling super tired come lunchtime. Nearly nodded off during a teams meeting earlier.

Currently under my dressing gown, two blankets and a hot water bottle and STILL cold.

85reasons · 08/10/2024 21:44

@Peachesandfizz glad your nausea has gone - mine finally lifted around lunchtime today. It was horrible - mostly because I'm in the middle of a work maelstrom and just couldn't think straight... even had to take pretty much a day off. Not good - I can't afford to do that right now with work. I'm considering my next moves re dose.

Other than that I'm around 16lb down since 7th Sept and suppression is good. Trying to eat three small meals a day although can easily skip lunch if I don't force myself to get something.

MissBPotter · 09/10/2024 06:34

Just had my 3rd 2.5 jab and still
doing ok. Weight loss has slowed this week, partly as I tried to eat a bit more and have been more like 900-1000 calories. Just think if I eat less I will slow my body down and regain it all when I stop?

Overall I have lost 9.5 lb, three cm off my waist and 4cm off my hips, so I’m pretty happy. Slightly concerned that I’m getting used to the 2.5 as I’m getting a bit more hungry and slightly slower losses.

Tipster100 · 09/10/2024 07:04

@Sampler 13cm off your waist is amazing! Well done!

I am on week 3. 6lbs down first week, 1lb down second week and now 3lb so far on third. Am happy with that. One more to go until I see a new number on the scales. I have bought a 5mg pen for next month as I am only really suppressed for 3 days a week. Am thinking of splitting the dose and taking two times a week. Does anyone else do that?

Justasmallgless · 09/10/2024 07:45

Morning all

Just checking in
Am on 2nd x 5mg dose now. Struggled massively with constipation but the psyllium husk tablets seem to be really helping now.
Was feeling really sick and lethargic Sunday/Monday but DD was ill too and actually sick so definitely a bug, all sorts going round.
Weigh day Friday but had a little whoosh on scales and measurements showing 4 inches off my menopausal waist!

KittyGetSmall · 09/10/2024 08:20

Could I use a little of my bonus dose to top up this morning?
Day 5 of the 3rd week and feeling really hungry :(

I don't know how the doses are worked out

EBoo80 · 09/10/2024 08:39

Second 5mg dose. I seem to be on a bit of a plateau since moving up, although it more likely coincides with some bday celebrations (cake!) and the 3 glasses of cava I drank for watching Strictly on Saturday. It’s frustrating, but trying to double down on good habits and trust the process.
plus still (fingers crossed) having an easy time of it with minimal side effects. Long may that continue as sounds like lots of us struggling more on 5.

I’m freezing cold too! Nothing seems to warm me up. I’m still on 2.5. My biggest problem is constipation. It’s awful. It has triggered a bout of diverticulitis. Currently waiting for the gp to call me back. I take chia seeds every day, plus a shot of extra virgin, plus dates, blueberries. I also try and drink 2l of water a day. I’m not good at that. But I have large mugs of v weak black tea as well as straight water. So not sure what else to do. I can’t up the fibre intake until the diverticulitis has passed, otherwise it makes it worse. Anyone else suffering? Any suggestions?

WitchyBits · 09/10/2024 10:07

I'm delighted that after 7-10 days of gaining and losing thesame 5lb and struggling with horrific constipation I am on the mend. The scared are moving again and I am going to the toilet more regularly but still not as often as I would like. Taking my jab today, second month of 5mg and hoping this week sees me go below my lowest weight of 15st8

Sw 9th August 17st 5
Cw 9th October 15st 9

I did see my nhs weight loss/bariatric team yesterday and they said my bmi is borderline so I may no longer be eligible for surgery and need to decide what to do. I know as soon as I stop Mj I'll regain so hoping to get to 15 and then find a dose to stabilise me as I've heard that if you lose too much weight on mj privately it can be very hard to get a maintenance dose when at your "ideal" weight?

Klyket · 09/10/2024 13:35

I have lost 4.35 kg in 25 days of 2.5mg dose. Due to start on 5mg on Saturday. No side effects so far. Am eating smaller portions and no snacking, which is my biggest problem really. I hope I’ll have more suppression with the higher dose.

Start weight: 91.9Kg
Goal weight: ~ 70Kg

Some phenomenal weight losses on this thread!

SpottyBumPony · 09/10/2024 14:34

@Babycakes39 how are you today? X

WontLetThoseRobotsDefeatMe · 09/10/2024 18:52

First mini milestone reached! Just over 1 month in, and have lost 5% of my starting weight!

I've taken 5x 2.5mg doses so far. Planning to move up to 5mg but am off to a remote island for a week, so am going to take another dose of 2.5 tomorrow (from my 5mg pen) to ward off any potential side effects.

Sorry to those of you feeling poorly with various side effects. Hope things perk up a bit!

Justasmallgless · 09/10/2024 20:05

Someone on a previous thread had an amazing spreadsheet so you could track and it showed % of body weight lost.

Would anyone have it or the owner mind sharing it again??

Justasmallgless · 09/10/2024 20:07

@1957Bev I'm really not sure to advise anything if you have diverticulitis. Did you declare this when you signed up?
If so I would ring the prescribing company and ask them for advice as it's excruciating. The only that helped me was the psyllium husk tablets

I don't know if mine is the amazing spreadsheet but I have a spreadsheet and think it's amazing so it's possible 😂

@InfoSecInTheCity yes!! Yours is the amazing spreadsheet. Thanks soooo much Biscuit

LucyBnotG · 09/10/2024 21:19

@InfoSecInTheCity Thank you for sharing. I remember admiring your spreadsheet a while ago. I track on my health app but I love updating things in detail and this is perfect. I appreciate your sharing and I've enjoyed filling it in with all my progress so far. 9.52% of my total body weight lost. Crazy to see the numbers like that.
