So I tried to take my bonus dose today with the 'hard twist'. I thought it had worked OK, got the clicks to '1' but when I injected the plunger stuck, then I fiddled about a bit more and had another go. Upshot is that I don't actually know how much I had, if any. There appears to be some liquid (quite a lot) still remaining at the end of the pen - does that usually mostly disappear with the hard twist bonus injection?
So I've ordered insulin pens which should arrive tomorrow. The most I've heard people getting out of the bonus dose is 0.9ml. If there's 0.6ml left to syringe I'll assume I took a half dose today, and will inject a further 0.3ml.
Or maybe just see how I feel and if suppression is wearing off I'll start with the next pen.
But, I met a friend today who I haven't seen for weeks and she immediately said how well I looked, leaner in the face etc. Then of course she backtracked that I hadn't had a fat face previously (yes I did!) and got in a kerfuffle
. I just accepted graciously and said thanks, and that I'd been looking after myself. Which is how it feels.
