@Bellyblueboy I use an insulin needle for mine, as it measures the dose. 0.6ml is a full dose, which I always get. So I get 5 doses from each pen.

20bloodypounds · 28/09/2024 21:55

@Bellyblueboy Depending on how much of the liquid you used to prime your injection pen...

A full dose is 0.6ml. Most people have this much left, so they get another full dose at 2.5mg (week 5). Some people have as much as 0.9ml left = a dose of 3.75mg (halfway between the 2.5 dose and the 5mg dose) and a useful step up towards a higher dose from the 5mg pen.

Others find that 2,5mg hasn't been doing a lot, so take a bit more from the bonus dose alongside their 4th week injection. That might be an additional 0.3ml (or 30 clicks) making a 3.75mg dose to transition to 5mg. Others might be feeling very little impact on 2.5mg, no side effects, and use the whole extra dose to advance to 5mg early.

Fitted into a pair of jeans I haven't worn for 3 years today! They were actually a little loose.

I was 243 pounds on 1st December last year, got down to 222 with SW and now 213 after 4 weeks MJ. Was a size 20 now a 16.

doodleschnoodle · 28/09/2024 22:14

I've decided to switch to Oushk as I like their prices for the lower doses, which I am going to remain on for time being as working well, and that they have maintenance packages, which makes me feel better about life if I reach goal weight.

Went out for afternoon tea today and ate a totally modest amount, which I was pleasantly surprised with as its jab day so I expected to be a bit more hungry. But I had enough to enjoy it but was able to then stop after a few sandwiches and mini cakes and not feel deprived. Did my jab when I got home, so preparing for gastric issues tomorrow as I generally get the runs after jabs! Although I took some preemptive Imodium so fingers crossed!

Did a cheeky weigh in this morning and I'm now 16lbs down and I'm starting to notice it in my face and tummy, as is my husband. Clothes are feeling less tight.

@Elephantino AMAZING!! 🤩

doodleschnoodle · 28/09/2024 22:19

Does anyone have any recommendations for things to help rings fit? My wedding and engagement ring are getting loose and keep swivelling round on my finger. I guess I'll need to get them resized if I continue to lose weight but for now I just need something to help keep them on!

I’ve found that. The scales may not be shifting with actual weight, but I have body fat scales and I see them dropping with body fat and rising with body water - it keeps me going! I have no patience, I weigh every day, I know you aren’t supposed to, but it helps me keep my brain focused.

Could you let me know which scales you have? I’d quite like a set

85reasons · 29/09/2024 06:17

@doodleschnoodle I've switched to Oushk for my next pen too - I like the fact they don't do discount codes which reward encouraging others to buy MJ (although do regularly offer general discounts) plus the maintenance approach and being able to choose delivery day.

@20bloodypounds totally agree re the difference between other diets and never having to feel like you CAN'T go to a certain restaurant or dread social occasions. I went out for pizza at work lunch last week and had exactly what I wanted although for once didn't eat all the crusts as I would usually.

I extracted using an insulin needle yesterday - bought from Amazon and totally fine - they are individually wrapped and sterile and you very easily extract from the tip of the MJ pen.

Hi everyone, today was my third weigh in. I lost 2 pounds which I’m pleased about. It takes me to about a stone off in 3 weeks and nudging the overweight rather than obese category.

I’ve been taking 1.25 does for the last 2 weeks as I felt so bad on my first week of 2.5. I found 1.25 worked for me and I lost 5 pounds during that time. This week there was a definite return of food noise and appetite, but I tried to see the benefit of that as something I’ll need to consider when I come off it altogether. I’m dithering on whether to increase the dose or inject 1.25 today and again on Weds. I think I’ll go for the split dose. I’ve reordered the 2.5 for my next month as I don’t think my body is ready for big leaps in doses.

I’ve found this thread so helpful, seeing how we are all doing and the different ways we manage it. Wishing everyone a good week!

https://amzn.eu/d/1zU5nGu These ones, I got them in 2018, but I think they’ve discontinued them or upgraded them or something, I didn’t spend a lot, but they are good scales.

For those not seeing visual loss but seeing the scales go down, this might cheer you up. Mounjaro is known for being really effective at burning deep body fat that surrounds organs (and is the worst kind) so that is likely what’s happening!

That's really interesting. I could tell I had a lot of internal fat (as well as external!) as bending over was difficult and it felt as though the limit was the fat inside, or perhaps I was imagining it. I'm now 16lb down and movement feels so much easier.

I will admit it being very worried about what happens when I get to my goal and start coming off. I'm making an extraordinary effort to get good habits and mental approach bedded in ready for when that inevitably has to happen.

Morecoffeeforme · 29/09/2024 08:51

Took my 4th dose last night.

Theres definitely still enough in the pen for another dose. I think I might take it a few days early as the suppression definitely wears off a lot before the end of the week.

im really unsure about whether to move up to 5mg.

what has everyone else done?

I lost another 2 lbs so that’s 6lb down in 3 weeks.

I was ideally hoping for a bit more but a loss is a loss!

I've just picked up my second pen and decided to stick with 2.5mg. I don't get full suppression but I think it's good for me to learn to deal with my hunger.

85reasons · 29/09/2024 09:17

@Morecoffeeforme I've gone up to 5mg. I was going to stick with 2.5mg as the suppression had been perfect but over the past few days I definitely noticed the effects wearing off and I ended up taking my 4th jab a day early after checking with Oushk. I think if it's still working really well for you it's worth sticking at 2.5mg, although another option is buying the 5mg and taking smaller doses safe in the knowledge that if you need to go up you can.

Neverplayleapfrogwithmrpipes · 29/09/2024 09:19

I have been on it since June. Started at 5ft 1 and 14st 10lb

I am now hovering just above the 12st 1 mark. I am about to go up to 10mg

KittyGetSmall · 29/09/2024 09:54

I don't know if I can carry on

Only had 2 injections
First week was fine this week had an awful migrane/vomiting night after injection and just can't eat anything.

Am feeling awful

Definitely don't want to go to 5mg

Another 2lb this week and am amazed id an awful week. My mum has been hospitalised and is quite ill. My eating pattern has been in chaos with chips, Chinese and a meal out as I'm running up and down to the hospital. I'm taking the 2lb as major victory. Hopefully I'll get myself properly settled. Looking forward to seeing the 13 stone odd flashing up.

Sunbeamturtle · 29/09/2024 10:24

Has anyone found they’re waking a lot in the night? I’m waking 4 or 5 times for no reason. I do get back to sleep but I’m still very tired. Always slept through with one wake for a wee before!

Samisam86 · 29/09/2024 10:34

1 month on mounjaro update Total loss 18.5lbs! This weeks loss 3lbs. I'd be lying if I said there hasn't been difficult days where I think what am I doing, days where I struggle to eat through feeling sick, days where I question why I went on this but.... overall I've had very minimal side effects and a huge first month loss. Not actually been sick once, no diarrhoea, constipated yes lol. The thoughts on my mind constantly of what happens at the end of this but for now I will keep going hoping for the best. Got my 5mg pen for next week just took the bonus dose, so close to being in the 11s with my weight now 12st 0.5lbs. Hope everyone has a good week.

Elephantino · 29/09/2024 11:09

@Sunbeamturtle I'm the same. I can struggle with insomnia but usually it's not being able to fall asleep. This is different, it's being fully awake 4 or 5 times a night. In the last week I have slept right through once.

Ate a Chinese takeaway last night, slept like a log but 2lbs up on the scales this morning...hoping it's just the salt!

I'm in the same position as you.

Similar weight lose, just started my fourth week. I'm going to get insulin needles for the fifth dose.

I'm going to do as recommended here and get 5mg so I have the option of going up more.

I'm feeling hungry, still have food noise (it is maybe less). I definitely could eat normally though. I haven't been drinking alcohol. Really trying hard.

Peachesandfizz · 29/09/2024 11:21

Took my 5th dose of 2.5 last night. Very easy to get it so don't let it go to waste!

Weighed this morning and lost 18lb since 1st September. Absolutely over the moon! Will be increasing to 5mg next week as I think suppression is dwindling on 2.5 now.

18lb in a month! I can't quite believe it.

theluckiest · 29/09/2024 15:18

I am honestly utterly gobsmacked.

Got on the scales this morning. Little bit early as I took my first jab on Tuesday but I couldn't resist.

6 lbs loss!!!! 6 lb!!! Ok, was the tail-end of my period so that may have contributed and I know it's mostly water but I am utterly thrilled.

I've stopped snacking and lost interest in booze although I did have some wine on Friday but only 1 glass rather than the bottle!!

I'm starting to believe that this might actually work after years of so many failures...
