@SwiftiesVSLestat @20bloodypounds & @Whereisthewine We're all in the same boat, I think. 4th week on 2.5 - I've still got less food noise, I get hungry but am doing ok with smaller portions. While I still fancy snacks sometimes, I've been satisifed with healthy options which wouldn't have happened pre-MJ. I think I'll aim to do the bonus dose of 2.5 next week.

I have a 5mg pen in the fridge which I'm thinking I'll use to continue on 2.5. Yes it means potentially wasting some of the pen but rather that than risk side effects and over-suppression by moving up - plus it gives me the option to titrate up should I need it in a couple of weeks time. I'd really like to stay on the lowest dose possible - it lets me exercise my willpower a bit while not being thoroughly miserable as I usually am on diets by this point!

OvaHere · 25/09/2024 10:25

So sleepy again today. First day or so after the jab I've noticed I feel that 'can't keep my eyes open' level of tired. Just had some coffee and perked up a little. Maybe it would be better to jab Friday night and have this over the weekend - except I still have shit to do at the weekend also. It will pass but the temptation to have a nap (at 10.30am!) is strong.

Think I might do that too, order the 5 but start on 2.5 and build up maybe 🤔

This is such a great place for support! Thank you for replying 😊

Urgh one thing I am really struggling with is keeping it a secret from my family. My husband does know and is supportive, but I'm currently living with my parents while we get work done to our house. I cannot face telling them because I think they would be so disapproving and just wouldn't understand. But it makes life difficult. We all eat together in the evenings and they are BIG fans of stodge. Mac and cheese last night, and tonight I see they have got a recipe out for a blue cheese dauphinoise pie - which sounds amazing but the absolute last thing I want to be eating!!

I have told them that I am dieting and will be eating small portions so covering myself that way, but part of me wonders if I should just tell them the truth and face the consequences. Also worried about where I am going to store my next pen until I am ready to use it 😬

My current thinking is to do the 2.5mg bonus dose next week, then 2 normal doses from the next 2.5mg pen, then move up to 3.75mg for the next two weeks. That would be a dose and a half, either taken on the same day, or a 2.5mg dose followed by a half-dose midweek. (nothing left for a bonus dose)

If that works OK I'd go up to 5mg for my 3rd pen but probably start with 3.75mg for another 2 weeks.

HippoPortlyMouse · 25/09/2024 11:05

@sylv165 my pens are stored in a small box in the bottom of the salad drawer under a packet of long-life beetroot. Ain't nobody finding it there! 😂

I have so far avoided too many questions with family by either skipping a mealtime with a valid reason (working late/going out/ate earlier) or just eating smaller portions with a side of veg/salad (on the table so an option for everyone to help themselves to). It's not that I'm ashamed of it, more I just don't want it to become a talking point. It's my decision and needn't concern anyone else. If you think you'd get negative attitude from them - don't tell them. It's your business, not theirs. Good luck! 🤐

KittyGetSmall · 25/09/2024 11:08

My official weigh in/jab day is Friday but I had a sneaky jump on scales and am 4lbs down already!

InfoSecInTheCity · 25/09/2024 11:15

4th jab due tomorrow and feeling a bit peckish today so trying to be very mindful of what and when I eat to make sure I'm addressing the hunger but keeping my intake in check and staying under my calorie count.

Been for my eye screening this morning so currently in the blurry stage of drops wearing off and holding my screen out as far as my arms will allow me to so I can see (ish) what I'm trying. Hopefully not making too many typos.

sylv165 · 25/09/2024 11:44

@HippoPortlyMouse yes I need to devise a clever hiding place. I'm thinking maybe a frubes box. It is only my kids that eat those so my parents would have no need to look inside, as long as there is already an open packet in the fridge 🤔. I just can't face the lecture - neither of them have ever had real problems with their weight and my mum is the sort of person that just cuts down on wine and goes on the occasional walk for a couple of weeks and loses half a stone, so they just don't get it.

SweetAndCrispy · 25/09/2024 12:14

I’m 24hrs in since my first injection and I’m definitely less hungry. Objectively I know I am hungry but I’m not feeling motivated to eat. This is a very strange feeling! I’m going to eat lunch but it’ll be light. My one issue is my skin feels incredibly sensitive, it almost hurts to the touch. Has anybody else had this? I’m hoping it lessens but it is worrying me

SecondDesk · 25/09/2024 12:26

@Justasmallgless I am still hungry. The feeling of being too full to eat is not there (was it ever?). I am tracking calories and photograph each meal.

I wonder if people with more side effects have more significant weight loss.

KittyGetSmall · 25/09/2024 12:31

Day 5 and just feeling a bit shit.

No headache today but had an egg and soldiers for lunch and just felt really sick and sort of shaky after. DD wanted to bake and I've had to bring in a stool to sit on cuase I just feel yucky.

Also feeling a bit more hungry and 'peckish' again.

So kinda wanna take my next dose but kinda don't incase I feel more shit.

Urgh

I've read several times that skin sensitivity is common. I've not had it but did have a tingly mouth

SecondDesk · 25/09/2024 12:44

I am taking my fourth dose this week. I may take the bonus dose using the hard twist method.

If people are using a 5mg pen and using half a dose, how long will you use the pen for? I thought 30 days was the limit.

Despite not having the weight loss I'd like, I think I will go for 2.5mg for the next one.

Witchyandtwitchy · 25/09/2024 13:09

After taking my first dose yesterday morning, I had a small salad for lunch, then dinner as normal. I felt so full afterwards and most of the night pretty uncomfortable.
Had no appetite for breakfast, but I’m going to have some lunch even though I don’t really fancy it.
surely it can’t be working this quickly?

I must eat slower so I pick up on the full signals before it’s too late!

Definatly take the 5th dose, you've paid for it and it's there.. and if you haven't ordered already I would go for the 5, and if you really don't want to go up you can just do 30 clicks of the 5 to get 2.5.. I think they are the same price, . The you have the option to do 5 if you want to..

GoldieLocks09 · 25/09/2024 13:17

I took my first dose last night at about 8am and despite no side effects so far 🤞🏼 I am just not hungry at all - I had my usual large black coffee this morning but no interest to eat yet. I need to prioritise water as I’m slacking on that but have a work call at 1.30 and then will try to eat a small high protein lunch.

@Tipster100 LOVE the Christmas countdown! Just got excited that by Christmas if I lose 2lb a week I could be almost back to pre baby weight (but will still have 2/3 stone to lose after that 🥴)

SpottyBumPony · 25/09/2024 13:49

I’ve told everybody 😆

MissBPotter · 25/09/2024 14:22

i did my first injection last night! Feeling fine today, no symptoms at all luckily (so far). Definitely haven’t noticed feeling hungry but I have eaten a little bit, as I think we are still supposed to eat a bit….

is everyone managing to exercise? I should really go for a run today but not sure I fancy it!!

Can you say you’re dieting so will be preparing your own food and it’s really important to you?

Ive hidden my pen in a sun dried tomato paste box! Perfect size!

I think that is what I will do with my 5 pen. I think I was worried about ordering 2.5 then in a couple weeks feeling like I needed the 5 but having to wait.

At least this way we can go up as soon as we feel we need.

Hello, I’ve started today (literally 5 mins ago) and am SO excited.

I weight about 16st 7. However, I really don’t eat that much (honestly people are always surprised when they spend time with me) so I’m worried it won’t have that much effect…..

I’m a similar weight to you, and would say that I don’t eat that much either however I gain weight so easily (4 stone per baby 😩) and really struggle to lose weight. Do you have PCOS or anything like that?
From researching it really helps with insulin resistance which I really struggle with, which in turn can help with weight loss.. so praying for it to help! I have lost weight without help in the past which purely was down to following a ketogenic diet (and was hell) but I’m hoping that MJ does that for me without having to completely cut out food groups… although saying that today I’ve only had tuna in lettuce wraps and feel so full and not like I’ve missed out on anything!

Sunbeamturtle · 25/09/2024 16:05

I don’t think I have PCOS but carry all my weight round my tummy which is linked to insulin resistance isn’t it. Keto also worked for me but isn’t sustainable long term, for me.

Latelifelesbian · 25/09/2024 16:46

Has anyone else found it’s messed with their periods? I have pcos so mine have always been weird but I’ve been bleeding on and off for a week now (did my first injection last Tuesday). I’m wondering if it’s a good sign it’s helping pcos stuff by playing with my hormones but haven’t managed to weigh yet as at my girlfriends. Really worried I won’t see any weight loss!
