I've just started this morning after months of research. Feeling nervous but excited. Any other new or existing users want to join support and share successes?

Finally my period came so planning on getting weighed Sunday or Monday! For once actually looking forward to it!

Suppression is hitting hard today. I need to force myself to eat soon. I have only had yogurt with flaxseed and a few shreddies. And 3 small crackers with cream cheese and a bit of chicken on it.

Suppression is hitting hard here too. No appetite for breakfast just tea and water until mid morning coffee cortado. Lots of wandering round little villages but then ended up travelling and we were in that horrible holiday situation of not being able to find anywhere decent to eat lunch. Google helped me find somewhere but another half hour further on.

Then of course we couldn't park. Another 5 minute drive. By this time it was 2.30pm, 18 hours since I'd last eaten. Before MJ I'd have been hungry and weak and angry and growling at dh. Today I was as sweet as anything. "No problem, we'll just walk back from here." Then I couldn't even finish my lunch.

I think I'll have to eat small and often to make sure I'm getting enough nutrition.

Tailrunner · 13/09/2024 20:43

I was finally able to pick up my pen this evening- I only ordered last Sat so not too long a wait, really, but after deciding to go for it I've been really impatient to get started!
First injection is done, and I've planned a fast800 menu for this week. I did the fast800 years ago, felt great on it, and lost 2 stone. Then Christmas hit, followed by Covid, and I piled the weight back on celebrating and comfort eating. I've tried to start again a few times but can't get past week 2 without giving in to constant snacking. I'm really hoping this is going to help me get into some good eating habits.
I'm starting at 15st - I'll be happy to get to 12st and over the moon if I reach 11st. I think the top of my healthy weight is about 10.5 st but I just can't imagine ever getting there.

MetabolismLost · 13/09/2024 21:07

Only 2 days since my 2nd jab and I’m already feeling the suppression waning, quite disappointed about that.

suze12 · 13/09/2024 21:28

I’ve had a mixed day. Didn’t eat until brunch at 11.30. I wasn’t chomping at the bit for it but was definitely hungry. I didn’t manage to finish the meal but did drink a lot of water too so it may have been down to that.

I have had hunger throughout the day but it was a bit strange, I could kind of ignore it. Normally I wouldn’t be able to do anything until I’d eaten and that would be my complete focus but I was able to continue what I was in the middle of, take a longer walk etc and eat when I got home instead of stopping at a shop for a snack.

I have just eaten quite a lot this evening though. A sandwich plus cereal and then about 1/2 a sharing bag of minstrels. I feel quite deflated about it but I felt really hungry. I feel bad because it was rubbish food but also that I’m on day 2/3 and hoped I’d have better suppression. Maybe I’ll be one of these people who doesn’t respond to 2.5 and will see a change when I increase to the 5 dose. Side effects wise, pretty much back to normal today apart from feeling quite cold but that might just be the weather!

MetabolismLost · 13/09/2024 21:30

Yeah, I’ve not been cold today, but I think that’s to do with the fact that I’ve eaten more. My portions are definitely a lot smaller and seem to satisfy the “hunger” quicker though, so that’s a bonus.

EJA24 · 13/09/2024 21:43

Start date: 30/8/24
SW: 16st 7 (231lb) - BMI 39.5
WK 1: 15st 11 (221lb) - 10lb loss!
WK2: 15st 6 (216lb) - 5lb loss! 🤩

15lb in 2 weeks is literally insane - obviously this pace of weight loss won’t continue but what a boost!! 🤩 I’ve eaten under 1000 calories consistently throughout; pint of water with electrolytes for breakfast, healthy lunch and dinner (v little bread, lots of sweet potatoes), no alcohol, gallons of water - inadvertently fasted 18hours most days too. MJ must have significantly curbed my appetite and my sweet tooth but I’ve needed plenty willpower too! Only side effect is constantly needing a wee from all the water!

Only 2 days since my 2nd jab and I’m already feeling the suppression waning, quite disappointed about that.

Funny enough I had this with the second injection. I ended up doing the third a day early and been all good with the third one, no clue what caused it second week.

That is bizarre! But I hope I folks suit and have no issues with my 3rd.

AutumnJ0y · 14/09/2024 06:17

Hi Everyone, so I finally took the plunge and did my first jab yesterday. No real side effects so far, did feel a slight headache coming on but drank lots of water and popped a paracetamol. Started feeling slightly nauseous in the afternoon but I made it to gym class and the nausea went away. I didn't eat much. I had 2 boil eggs with wholemeal toast in the morning for my breakfast then took the jab at 10:30, in the arm. Then didn't eat anything until dinner which was chicken, bulgar rice and salad. I think I could have gone for seconds (and usually would have), but managed to stop when I was full. Not sure if it's the drugs or just mentally knowing i've taken the jab and should try? Anyways will keep you all posted on how I get on, feeling positive after hearing about all your week 1 losses Smile

Izzydogmum · 14/09/2024 07:32

Morning everyone!

Hope you are all getting on with the jabs and any side effects ok? So far so good here on that front.
Is everyone feeling positive or nervous about going up to 5mg? I'm hoping it's not a massive jump and the side effects stay as they are!

End of week 2 for me. Still not snacking while sat at my desk so that's great, really need to make sure my water intake is better, I struggle to get 1.5l even when mixing it with squash. I'm also hovering around 1500cal, and thinking maybe trying 1400cal to get a bigger loss.

SW: 304.7lb
CW: 297.4
Loss: 7.3lb

I've seen the losses on here and congrat you all, It's not easy but we will get there!
Onwards and downwards to the next week!

doodleschnoodle · 14/09/2024 07:50

Weigh in day, after 10 days.

SW: 203
CW: 195.8
GW: Somewhere around 135lbs probably
Lost: 7.2lbs

Delighted! Grin

Whereisthewine · 14/09/2024 09:05

Sneaky first week weigh in a day early and have lost 5lbs! Delighted!! Know it'll probably slow down in the upcoming weeks but taking that as a good start. Well done to everyone else on their losses!!!!

ReadyForAction · 14/09/2024 09:15

First week weigh in.l 2.5 dose.

I had a blip because I went up after a few days. My weight loss on the week is 3.5lbs or 7.5lbs including the blip. I was so disheartened earlier this week, I will try to weigh myself weekly from now on.

I am trying really hard. Not sure there is suppression, I'm not hangry though. Everyone got a takeaway out last night, I resisted.

My new way of eating is impacting others. Going out for a birthday breakfast treat later. My oh said I should take a day off. He understands I can't. My downfall is weekend feasting. if nothing changes, nothing changes.

No side affects beyond constipation. I will try the recommendations here 💐

I agree with a previous poster. Top of the healthy weight range for my height is 10.5 stones and I cannot imagine getting near to this. 15.4lbs to my first goal. I am officially obese, no longer severely obese but so long to go. At least I'm going there now.

At every medical appointment, I am asked about my weight and invited to pop on the scales, even when having a smear. I already understood how unhealthy my weight was, this only served to shame and avoid.

raspberrymeringue · 14/09/2024 09:23

Morning all.
Week 2 day 2.
The suppression roared back in at lunchtime yesterday after doing my jab at 8am in my thigh. I find the thigh easy to administer, sitting down whilst rewatching the instruction video. So sticking with it unless results wane. Went for lunch with a friend and could just manage 1.5 eggs and a slither of toast. Can drink tea til the cows come home though. I’m thinking of staying on 2.5mg next month if things carry on like this. We all have different journeys and it’s so helpful to see how others are doing. I’m loving this thread and hope everyone has a good day.

By the way does anyone know if there’s a way to offer a well done to someone without listing all the names every time. Bit like sending someone a heart or thumbs up on WhatsApp?

violetsunrise · 14/09/2024 09:25

As other posters have said - it’s no nice to be able to eat like a normal person. I was working later last night, kids and OH were fancying a takeaway. I wasn’t overly keen, the thought of it just didn’t appeal, but thought why not have a very small portion. I couldn’t even manage half. Have woke up today with no swollen ankles and terrible thirst like I’d normally get (I’m bad for retaining water especially if high salt content). Weigh day on Monday and now scared this will have an impact by then. Fingers crossed not! I would have been within my calories.

Lovethat · 14/09/2024 09:39

What did you all eat on the day of your first injection? I'm presuming nothing that's going to sit in your stomach or would be difficult to digest - or am I just completely over thinking things?

I'm actually thinking the same. The 2.5 is working beautifully at the moment and my goal is to make sure that I don't lose too quickly as I want this to be sustainable. I'm not always able to reach my calorie intake goal and I definitely don't want any more suppression than what I'm getting on 2.5... I'm thrilled with the progress so far! 8lbs so far. I don't want to exceed 2lbs a week going forward so I do need to slow this down a bit.

This drug feels like a real game changer, giving me the time and headspace to learn properly sustainable healthy eating habits. At the moment I'm thinking 2.5 for another month alongside willpower should keep me going then I'll consider the 5 after that. I might feel differently in another week though so I'll hold off ordering for now. The other bonus of remaining at 2.5 is hardly any side effects.

thisiswheretheseagullfliesaway · 14/09/2024 09:52

No loss this week. Week 2. But no gain either. May take that as a win. A bit downhearted but the suppression wore of very quickly the food noise was loud. Had my reminder to order next pen so ordered 5mg as the 2.5 isn't really cutting it for me.

Elephantino · 14/09/2024 09:52

End of second week (injecting a day earlier this week and next so I can have full suppression on weekends)

SW 222.2
Last week 218.9 - 3.3lbs
This week 216.9 -2lbs

Pleased to have lost 2lbs in a week, would never manage that on my own and would love to continue 2lbs a week till goal.

This week I felt like I still wanted a biscuit or a snack so had it. I feel my portion sizes are getting smaller I haven't finished a meal all week, whilst on week 1 I was still clearing my plate.

Going to the toilet 3 times a week with the help of glycerine suppositories. Will continue with the husk capsule, I only take one a day.

85reasons · 14/09/2024 10:21

Second jab this morning. Seven pounds down, very happy with that.

Have been listening to podcasts about low dosing / microdosing - so much interesting information out there.

raspberrymeringue · 14/09/2024 10:23

Simb Exactly. Things may change in the next 2 weeks but if they stay the same I’ll keep to the same dose. My only side effect is a slight headache the morning after the jab but this one is less than last weeks. Trying to balance good suppression and minimal sides. I’m also amazed that my only though about food is to consider how healthy it is. The first couple of days of week one were a bit of a car crash as I was trying to eat normally but less, if you know what I mean. Then I realised that the urge for treats was so slight it wasn’t worth bothering, so I concentrated on making really good healthy choices for the food I was eating.

85reasons · 14/09/2024 10:59

Do you think everyone starts out thinking they want to stick to lower doses but inevitably people end up increasing the dose? I'm also very interested in minimising it but notice in the older threads lots of people end up on higher doses over time. When are you all going to order the next pen? Just taken my second dose so a while to go yet.

SpiderMother · 14/09/2024 11:08

@raspberrymeringue That's exactly how I feel - no urge for anything outside of meals. I seem to be eating the same evening meal as before but smaller portion as that's what I feel I need, but no snacks or treats outside of meals, which has definitely been my downfall.

@ReadyForAction - interesting what you say about shame. I've not felt it so much about weight but it was exactly how I felt with the hygenist at the dentist yesterday. I really struggle with flossing and although she's nice she makes me feel so ashamed of my failures that it is a misery to be there and I just feel so bad about myself. It definitely makes things so much harder to face. Well done for what you have achieved so far.

Feeling positive today.

raspberrymeringue · 14/09/2024 11:10

85reasons That’s a very good point. I saw someone on the thread wasn’t happy with the weight loss they had achieved so far, and couldn’t wait to go up to the next dose. I’m not in a hurry. Steady will suit me just fine. I guess we can only wait and see. For me if I keep getting the same result, I’m happy to stay put. If it starts to taper off I’ll reconsider.

raspberrymeringue · 14/09/2024 11:21

SpiderMother Yes it’s the snacking. I’ve realised I self soothe with a snack. Especially late afternoon on a stressful work day. I can do so much damage in a very short space of time. I had the same stressful experience last week, but with no accompanying urge to eat. I was stomping around the house, it was a wfh day, thinking how do I decompress this stress ? It was a surreal experience and quite an eye-opener because although I knew I did this, I’ve never experienced it without hunger and rush to snack, if you know what I mean. So I’m really hoping that whilst I’m on this medication, I can learn an alternative way to manage those stressful moments.
