I've just started this morning after months of research. Feeling nervous but excited. Any other new or existing users want to join support and share successes?

SpiderMother Good luck. You can do it. Still much better than continual hunger that wears you down. I’m interested to see how today and tomorrow go before my 2nd jab. Some people get no suppression at all on 2.5mg. It’s considered a loading dose. So I guess we are the lucky ones.

SunshineAutumn · 11/09/2024 07:54

Took first one at 11pm last night. Slept well and no side affects as yet.

SW - 78.15kg (12.42llbs)
GW - 62kg (9.10llbs)

OvaHere · 11/09/2024 08:06

I did my first one around 9.30pm last night. Don't feel any different as yet.

SW - 14.6 llbs
GW - Don't have a strict one but I think around 9.5llbs.

20bloodypounds · 11/09/2024 08:26

Just done my second injection, I was as sick and shaky as first time round! But delighted that I am 5lbs down. I'm in my 60s and usually a very slow loser so that feels very motivating. Off on holiday for a few days armed with a mini phaarmacy of travel sickness tablets, immodium, senna pods, antacids just in case of any side effects!

Today was a tough day emotionally. Anniversary of a very close friend who died by suicide.
I have eaten healthy sensible meals , no snacks and 1 large glass of wine to toast him with loved ones.

Means a lot to know I am in control of this, food and drink is not in control of me

Sending you the biggest hug. So hard.

I started last Sunday. lost 8lb.
Starting weight: 14.12
CW: 14.4
height: 5ft 7
age 48 (perimenopausal, so weight just wouldn't budge no matter what i did -weights/gym etc- pre MJ)

Yesterday i struggled to eat much calories, just 700, but I've been stuck on 14.4 for 3 days now (I know I shouldn't weigh daily, but i can't help it).

I really want to get out of the obese BMI category, hopefully to about 10 stones (any less than that and i begin to look ill). I'm planning to hit the gym once i get to 13 as my weight was making it difficult to do lower body strength training.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but 14.4 is actually heavier than 14.12 😩

spinningisthebest · 11/09/2024 08:59

One week down and 2.5 lbs on the scales. DH reports less snoring and choking at night which is intriguing as I don't think that weight loss can explain better sleep? And am assuming when I am sleeping I can't be imagining effects? So far not much suppression but definite effect on bowels so am more leaning to harsh words with myself if I lean towards the chocolate stash about the £ I am spending and to get a grip and trying longer intermittent fasting in the morning. I know weight loss is always slow for me - when I did Ww , Dolan etc I was always slow so 2.5 lbs is good news for me. Bought vivisical to try to stave off hair loss on the advice of other MJ mumsnetters.

Day 2, feeling very motivated, and probably placebo but no food or drink noise at all. No side effects apart from aching back/neck/shoulder muscles…like after a virus. Is that a thing?! We are also mid house move though so I have been carrying more stuff than usual.

mumof5andfat · 11/09/2024 09:25

Day 4 of week 2 and ive woke up feeling nauseous and had the runs. I had 6 biscuits last night (i didnt event enjoy them, no idea why i carried on munching them). I'm wondering if the sugar content in them is to blame for how i'm feeling today.....that should teach me a lesson. Only lost 1lb this week soo far :-(......no more biscuits for me then.

Carry61 · 11/09/2024 09:28

I just called boots there is a delay! Bit concerning moving forward, going to have a look where else I can get this from.
Any ideas?

doodleschnoodle · 11/09/2024 09:46

I've been using Asda and no complaints. Maybe not the cheapest but I liked the fact it was a big brand I knew and felt comfortable with.

I used MedExpress, they were really good and one of the cheaper ones due to using a referral code for £40 off. They also price match if you can find it cheaper elsewhere. There is a chat for sharing referral codes, I'll try and link it. There is also a chat with discussions around where is the cheapest, some people switch around.

drowningbutwaving · 11/09/2024 10:21

@Carry61 hopefully this works...

MNHQ: Thread for referral/discount codes - please don't post elsewhere www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weight-loss-injections/5131241-mnhq-thread-for-referraldiscount-codes-please-dont-post-elsewhere

Carry61 · 11/09/2024 10:28

@drowningbutwaving
Thank you I will give it a shot.

drowningbutwaving · 11/09/2024 10:28

@Carry61 there is also a website where the person pulls together all the prices for the month for comparison...

I had an achy arm the day after my jab... right where it usually aches when I have my flu shot. I think it was my brain telling my body "right, we've just had an injection, this arm usually hurts". My MJ injection was in my thigh so it was entirely psychosomatic!

Belindabelle · 11/09/2024 10:54

I have had a bit of a sore neck and arm. Thought I was imagining it.

i took my first shot 48 hours ago. The scales are up a pound but I have added some fibre/carbs in the form of lentils, grains etc. I did really strict keto for 6 days prior to starting to get rid of some water weight so stands to reason some of that will go back on initially.

The whole point of doing this is to lose weight but also to eat normally. I can do low carb for a period but as soon as I have a little bit the flood gates open and I eat everything in sight. I want to get out of that all or nothing attitude.

i don’t really feel like I have much suppression yet. However I had dinner at 6pm last night and still felt comfortably full when I went to bed at 11pm. No nasty side effects either but if I don’t 💩 today I will take something as constipation is to be avoided at all costs.

I take 2 psyllium husk capsules a day with a big glass of water and haven't had any constipation issues plus it's fibre so supposed to help you stay feeling full.

Whereisthewine · 11/09/2024 12:24

Can I ask if anyone else feeling nauseous and struggling to eat? Not feeling hungry at all but know I need to eat something. 3 days in on first week.. can I take something for the nausea? Thanks all

SwiftiesVSLestat · 11/09/2024 13:49

Hi, can I join?

I have just had my second jab. Feeling a bit of suppression, food noise as reduced. Not loads but some.

no side effects though. Which I am grateful for.

Just wondering, I got my first one from simple pharmacy. I want to move from 2.5 to 5. Do you need to start again if you move supplier? Is it easy to change supplier? Thank you

spinningisthebest · 11/09/2024 13:57

Has anyone had any alcohol to drink? I haven't so far but am out this weekend and would like a glass but have read it can cause nausea so would rather go without than chuck up at my friends lunch

I asked this question earlier on the referrals thread. In the same boat.
