I've just started this morning after months of research. Feeling nervous but excited. Any other new or existing users want to join support and share successes?

Week 1 weigh in - lost 9lbs
SW - 14st 0 (BMI 30.7)
CW - 13st 5 (BMI 29.3)
Height 5ft 7

So happy with that. Taking second injection shortly.

Generally found week one to be ok and no side effects (fuzzy head and tired) after day one. Strangely I did feel a bit nauseous yesterday afternoon/evening and tum was slightly upset at night. I’d say I felt a bit peckish yesterday but didn’t have the urge to over eat.

Fingers crossed week two goes ok.

Edited

Wow that is amazing! Well done - will be pleased if my results are anywhere near that!

Whereisthewine · 09/09/2024 08:49

First dose last night, had a rubbish sleep but that's normal in my world! Feel a bit bleugh so putting that down to the mounjaro..had a coffee so far no hunger pangs yet...

mumof5andfat · 09/09/2024 09:31

I started last Sunday. lost 8lb.
Starting weight: 14.12
CW: 14.4
height: 5ft 7
age 48 (perimenopausal, so weight just wouldn't budge no matter what i did -weights/gym etc- pre MJ)

Yesterday i struggled to eat much calories, just 700, but I've been stuck on 14.4 for 3 days now (I know I shouldn't weigh daily, but i can't help it).

I really want to get out of the obese BMI category, hopefully to about 10 stones (any less than that and i begin to look ill). I'm planning to hit the gym once i get to 13 as my weight was making it difficult to do lower body strength training.

That's an amazing first week loss well done!!!!!!!!! 👏

Itisallgoingtobeok · 09/09/2024 09:40

Week 1 day 5 for me, and woke up this morning feeling hungry. Had a sensible breakfast and am cracking on with the day. It's the first time I have actually felt hungry but not out of control hungry if you know what I mean.

Happy Monday all.

You're almost my twin except a bit taller. My starting weight is 14.6. I'm waiting for my pen to arrive. I've been weight training for a couple of years but feel like I'm stalling due to being too big. On the plus side I think working out has stopped me gaining anymore weight in a couple of years but I seem to be static now. 8Ib is a brilliant loss.

OvaHere · 09/09/2024 10:03

I've gone with Voy for the time being. My account says it was dispatched yesterday but I've not had delivery time notification yet. Does anyone know when it's likely to arrive? Today or tomorrow?

Mine came the day after dispatch via Royal Mail.

This is brilliant - we’ll done.

Were almost the same on starting points!

Do you mind sharing how many calories you did per day?

I did 800 yesterday and hoping to stick to around this.

only day 2 here but no hunger pangs yet.

I actually cut out a LOT of carbs from my diet in my first week, so a lot of that weight could just be water weight coming off, but I still kept some carbs in as I wanted this to be a change of habit and sustainable. Last week my diet consisted of: eggs, stir fry, salmon, cheese, salads, avocados, a few peanuts, lots of water, chicken.

No bread/pasta/potatoes, but that's simply because i have no desire for them either.

Very odd how Mounjaro has just switched off something in my brain. I LOVE my coffee, but i can only manage 2 cups a day now and even then i don't finish it. no fizzy drinks either, i have just gone off it. Instead, I have been reaching for my water bottle (believe me when i say that I hardly ever drank water before Mounjaro).

I have lots of chocolate in the cupboards for the kids, but I have no desire whatsoever to eat it. It feels quite odd and now I'm beginning to understand how 'normal' people eat. I could never understand how my housemates at university could just take a square of chocolate and put the rest in the kitchen cupboard and forget they had it. If that was me, it would all be eaten in one go. I am a pure sugar addict and have been for as long as i can remember, but why do i no longer desire it? what's going on?

This week is already looking like its going to be harder to lose, so I'm going to have to get out and get a lot of steps in and do some workouts at home.

NowImNotDoingIt · 07/09/2024 10:12

Is everyone planning to go up to 5mg after the 4 weeks ?

I think I might stay on 2.5mg for another 4 weeks. I did my third injection last night. Still getting side effects (nothing too bad but don’t fancy them getting worse either!) but most importantly the appetite suppression is working.

Belindabelle · 09/09/2024 10:50

Just done my first one!

Was dreading it. You would think I was about to perform open heart surgery.

Easy peasy. Didn’t feel a thing

Fingers crossed any side effects are manageable.

Beynac · 09/09/2024 10:57

I've just done my first one too. I'm really worried about side effects. I haven't told my husband I'm doing this so we'll have to see how that goes. I am officially obese but he thinks it is in my head. Anyway, hoping this helps the non stop hunger I've had from perimenopause which has made me pile on the weight in the last 18 months.

I’ve not told my husband either as he has brilliant will power and lost 2 stone really easily last year and thinks I should just be able to put my mind to it and do it 🙄

I don’t want the side eye from him

First week weigh in here and just back from holiday. 5lbs down (now 12 stone exactly) and that's after the last few days having a mainly normal appetite! I was able to stick to my plan of not eating any snacks or sugary food but also enjoyed my meals (including a delicious roast dinner!)

I found myself, even at the end of the week, making good choices e.g. taking the pastry off a veggie lentil wellington / quiche and not having pudding.

I've just injected dose number two. I had a drop of medicine on my thigh after removing the needle - should I worry about that? Hope much dose have I missed and is there a way of stopping this happening next time? I thought I was injecting quite slowly but maybe it was still too quick?

I haven’t told anyone either. I have no idea what my husband would think. He may well be supportive but I don’t want to take the chance.

Whereisthewine · 09/09/2024 11:26

A few of us started today by the sounds of it. I've also not told anyone I'm taking it. Feeling ok so far, a little nauseous and cold (but I'm in Scotland so that's normal!)

HippoPortlyMouse · 09/09/2024 11:27

Weigh in and second jab for me today today. 2.7lb loss, so not huge, but I'm happy with it as a good start. Still a bit early to tell if being able to resist crisps and chocolate this week has anything to do with the MJ or just the initial New Diet Energy.

@simb I had exactly the same after my jab this morning. I'm still pretty nervous about injecting so worried I did something wrong! I think at one point I definitely didn't have the needle poked in all the way. But I don't think it's a huge amount of liquid - maybe a ml or so, so worst case we had 2.3 or 2.4 instead of 2.5? That's what I'm telling myself anyway!

BatFacedGirlll · 09/09/2024 11:51

@simb it's absolutely fine, don't worry. Next time hold it in for 10'seconds and withdraw needle slow as you can

MrsEmilyGilmore · 09/09/2024 11:56

Checking in as I injected dose 2 last night and did my first weigh in. Have lost 9lbs which seems a bit mad but I'm not going to argue!

I've struggled quite badly with constipation all week though which has been uncomfortable, but the appetite suppression has made it a lot easier to make food choices.

Fingers crossed it keeps going!

Belindabelle · 09/09/2024 12:14

Not sure if this is even possible or just totally psychosomatic. I injected at 10.30 and have just eaten kefir and raspberries, as I do most days at this time. Appetite no change as expected at this stage.

Same kefir and same frozen rasps as the last week. OMG the taste was amazing. It’s like my taste buds are hyper. I swear even the mineral water I have been drinking tastes more minerally. Weird!

GaladrielAndBaggins · 09/09/2024 12:30

Hi all, first injection last Tuesday evening. Have just over two stone to lose.

Well done on the amazing weight losses in just one week!!! I’m just over 1kg down. I guess it’s best to keep in mind that not everyone loses rapidly, just keep going …

I’ve experienced intermittent (but frequent) back pain under my left shoulder blade, sometimes spreading around side to under left breast area. Anyone else had anything similar?

CrystalJollybottom · 09/09/2024 12:51

I am curious about the extra dose too. Says in the blurb there are four weeks in each pen. Good luck with your journey and well done to all the shrinkers.

I have gained and lost the same 15 kilos over and over again and I find as I have got older weight loss is harder. I have all my hopes pinned on MJ and took the first dose yesterday
