I've just started this morning after months of research. Feeling nervous but excited. Any other new or existing users want to join support and share successes?

Im a week and a half in, I had been dieting for 2 months and barely losing a thing. I havent changed my eating at all (as I was already dieting and eating well ) and am seeing weight loss. I think I perhaps needed the hormone shift more than anything.

Ive barely felt hungry, today is the first day im actually a little hungry at points which has been amazing.

I had side effects the second day but aside from that its been plain sailing so far.

I have had a really stressful few days which I think has added to my not being hungry.

Doggymummar · 09/09/2024 13:13

I have checked the expiry date on my pen and it is September 2024. It only arrived on Saturday which was the 7th. I can't start until 20th as I need to leave a week as I am switching medication. Will it be ok to use still?I have emailed the supplier but they're not replying as yet.

doodleschnoodle · 09/09/2024 13:22

It's probably one of the extended expiry ones. There should be a note on your online order or something about this. They've been extended to May if so.

doodleschnoodle · 09/09/2024 13:24

Eg. for mine it says:

Batch D712074 has a new expiry date of 10-2024. Batches D720751 and D720957 have a new expiry of 02-2025

Doggymummar · 09/09/2024 13:30

Thank you. Im back on my way to work now I'll have a look when I get home at the batch number, there's nothing on the packing list included with it.

20bloodypounds · 09/09/2024 13:36

@Itisallgoingtobeok I'm at the same point and have also felt a little hunger, but I think that's OK - eventually I'm going to have to learn how to manage normal mild hunger without grazing constantly in the fridge.

@mumof5andfat isn't it strange about the coffee!

Well done to @Whereisthewine @Belindabelle @Beynac and all other new starters. Fingers crossed for low level of side effects and good appetite suppression. I had heartburn / reflux on night 2 and 3 which was uncomfortable at the time, and concerning in case it would be with me every night, but all settled down quickly.

@Whereisthewine I'm in Scotland too and I'm hoping the cold will encourage me to move around more to warm up.

I'm another who hasn't told dh. He's lean, eats anything (including lots of rubbish) but is very active and fit. He doesn't seem to notice my weight going up or down (says he loves me just as I am, always - although he did comment favourably on my legs 5 years ago when I was a healthy BMI Grin) but he would expect me to manage through willpower or start running up mountains. My biggest feelings of failure are the times when I have shared with him about losing weight and he makes occasional 'helpful' comments about what I'm eating or drinking or doing. Then I could poke him in the eye!

ChungKing · 09/09/2024 13:38

Can I join? Took my first does on Friday, and already down 3.5 pounds! I know it's just water, but it still gives a boost doesn't it? Didn't feel hungry or anything all weekend, a bit feeling a bit shaky and hungry today. Just hoping it passes.

I have about 3 stone 9 pounds to lose, so it'll take a while!

MetabolismLost · 09/09/2024 13:57

I took my first dose on Wednesday evening last week, and this lunchtime is the first time I’ve started having hunger pangs again. I’m going to see how that changes over the next 24 hours, but I may bring my injection forward this week by 12 hours and have it on Wednesday morning instead.
I’m currently 3lbs down, so am pleased with how it’s going. Still no side effects either.

BankHolidayReset · 09/09/2024 13:57

Is there any reason why I wouldn't want my GP informed when I order this?

No I don't think hink so, I tried my Dr first byput she refused, then I tried a private Dr and so did she so here me are.

ReadyForAction · 09/09/2024 15:20

Week 1, first injection Saturday night. I'm going to stick to once per week.

Absolutely gutted. Just weighted myself and I'm PLUS 3.5llbs.

I don't feel any change to food noise or appetite. I assume I'll know when (if) that happens?

@InfoSecInTheCity I love a spreadsheet. Excel has some templates so I'm trying to be positive and preparing a workbook of trend, weight conversion and a log. There is something called calorie amortization. I'm not currently tracking calories. I'm trying to get into a better way of eating that will work in the long term.

tiredconfusedhungry · 09/09/2024 16:16

Strange question, I did my first injection last night, how quickly do you start to feel the effects? I had scrambled eggs for breakfast with mushrooms and spinach (around 11am) and I've just had an apple with some peanut butter, but I'm still feeling the urge to eat/snack/pick. Is it still too early?

Whereisthewine · 09/09/2024 16:24

Thinking I need to eat more, injected late afternoon yesterday since then had a small dinner last night but today only managed half a carton of soup so far, drinking lots of water, two coffees and peppermint tea...

Elephantino · 09/09/2024 17:10

Day 2 of week 2. My period has come and is cramping more than usual.

Have suppression however feeling like I am still able to eat usual portion if I want to ie not leaving food on my plate. Biggest difference is my stomach, it has gone down considerably no more perimeopause bloat. Wish I had taken measurements at the start but will do from now on.

Thelastdietever · 09/09/2024 18:21

Thank you everyone this thread and the others really helps. I’m on week 2 and I made my hubby to hide the scales as I have found in the past that week 2 to 4 I get very down as my weight always fluctuates. I’ve done a 3D scan and did weigh in for 1st week so when I’ve completed the first 4 weeks I’m going to weigh again then but not before. Roll on 27th 😀😀

wohmum · 09/09/2024 18:34

Congrats to all the new starters seeing a difference already.

I did my first injection last Friday night and have had absolutely no side effects, nor any change in appetite - if anything, I feel hungrier than usual !
I have lost a stone since Jan by eating much better - and lower carb , but nothing lost since about June.

SW 12:10 (Jan weight was 13:11)

GW 10 st.

BMI 31.5
Age 59 (2 weeks til 60!)

Looks like I'll have to treat the 2.5 as the 'getting used to it' dose and hope that i start losing on 5mg .

raspberrymeringue · 09/09/2024 19:49

Day 4 for me. I did my first injection Friday morning. Literally zero hunger pangs almost instantly Thought it might be a placebo effect, but it has continued. Meals were already fairly healthy, but the urge to snack is gone. Still need to make good choices, because chocolate tastes as good as ever. But one square satisfies the urge. And I feel full very quickly. Amazing!! I have a friend who is already on 5mg and finding no appetite suppression at all. Seems the effect really varies from person to person.

famcynags · 09/09/2024 21:05

I'm three days in and felt light headed so have eaten to ensure I'm taking in enough cals. The want for wine has gone, like a magic switch! Hoping for a good loss Friday morning x

Justasmallgless · 09/09/2024 21:21

Just checking in to say well done to all the losers this week - some fabulous results.
Welcome to the new starters and well done for taking the first step.
The sickness from the weekend has gone now thank goodness.

I'm on 1022 calories for the day and stuffed.

Back in work tomorrow so have already packed my chicken and avocado salad and protein yoghurt.

ReadyForAction · 09/09/2024 21:24

I'm actually shocked by how much weight I have to lose to get into normal weigh range. I think for 5ft 5in it's 10 stone 7, at least another stone to be comfortably in normal weight range. I can't believe things are as bad as they are.

OldKnees · 09/09/2024 21:30

I injected for the first time on Friday and I’m still feeling fairly hungry, but also a bit queasy and fearing the consequences if I overeat. I really hope the sickness wears off and the suppression kicks in soon!

doodleschnoodle · 09/09/2024 21:34

I feel weird! I sort of do feel hungry but then if I think about eating anything I really don't want to. I've had about 800 calories today so probably should have something else but I really don't fancy it. Maybe I'll try a satsuma.

Part of the issue might also be that I had a stomach bug pre first MJ jab but instead of being sensible and waiting till I was back to normal, I did my first jab in the thick of it all. In my head it would be getting any side effects out of the way while I was ill anyway but now I don't know what's the MJ and what's the tail end of this bug ConfusedBlush

BaldricksWife · 09/09/2024 22:20

End of week one, 6lbs gone. No appetite and zero side affects so far 😎

WouldYouLikeMeToSpellThatForYou · 10/09/2024 07:15

Week 1 weight in

SW: 12s 8.5 lbs (waist 32.5inch)
CW: 12s 6.4 lbs (just over 2 lbs) waist 31.5inch
GW: 10 stone with hopefully a 27inch waist

I've lost around an inch from my waist.
I know some of this will be reduced bloat, and I'm not exactly thrilled with the small loss but trying to keep positive and think of it that a loss is a loss! I've been trying to lose for the last year and been up and down the same 7 lbs. Also, had a night out this week as well involving food and a couple of drinks so all in all, not terrible.
