I've just started this morning after months of research. Feeling nervous but excited. Any other new or existing users want to join support and share successes?

The appetite suppression has definitely worn off. I've had a "normal" day where I'm constantly snacking, thinking about what to eat next. I can't believe the difference from only a few days ago. I just need to get through tomorrow and 2nd dose on Sunday morning.

So I'm same as you and decided to have another injection on day 6 (today) I want to get my injection day to Thursday anyway so this works for me but also the thinking about food was back which was the main motivation.
This is a tiny dose and really is just a starter to get our bodies used to the medication

Pen arrives today yikes!!! Think I'll take it tomorrow night just need to hide it in the fridge until then - haven't told partner or kids..any hiding tips welcome!

EJA24 · 07/09/2024 09:20

@Whereisthewine How exciting you’re ready to get started! Mine’s in a tomato puree box as I know none of them will be interested in that 🤣

It doesn't need to be refrigerated, just kept under 30 degrees which is rarely a problem in this country. So my doctor said anyway, mines not arrived yet

Hello - I have decided to try Mounjaro. I'm off on holiday in a couple of weeks but would really like to be a bit lighter before I go. On the other hand, I am expecting to get some symptoms, such as nausea, which I am prone to (I had awful nausea during my pregnancies). I'm wondering about doing a couple of weeks and then leaving it off for my week on holiday. On the other hand, if I don't get any side effects, I can continue taking it.

I have about 5 stone to lose, but any losses would be fabulous.

I wondered if anyone has any views on this?

MesExpress BTW

They should be in a clear plastic bag along with four wipes. They are very, very small!

PotatoBreadForTheWin · 07/09/2024 09:37

Great losses! I am 24 hours in and don't feel great but I have been struggling with a heavy cold all week and I think it's just that to be honest. No nausea or anything but the appetite suppression was almost instant for me. I'm making sure I eat something every mealtime as this is about habit change for me so I really want to focus on eating the right stuff. It's liberating to be happy with a small portion.

Elephantino · 07/09/2024 09:43

Well done on the weight loss 👏 I'm day 6 today and feel less suppression too but just need to rely on willpower till I inject tomorrow. I'm going away for the weekend in a fortnight so will be waiting till the Monday to do my 4th jab.

MetabolismLost · 07/09/2024 09:44

Sadteacher · 06/09/2024 22:13

@MetabolismLost I am taking tablets from Holland and Barrett. Too early to know if they are making a difference. On other threads they say powder is more effective.

@EJA24 I am the same, could easily have taken my second jab after 6 days. Not sure if that’s allowed!

I wonder why powder is considered more effective, I’ll have a google with my morning coffee and find out.
I’m not at work this weekend, so have decided to just eat when I feel hungry rather than sticking to 3 meals a day. Just as an experiment really, to see at what point I start to feel hungry.

NowImNotDoingIt · 07/09/2024 10:07

Started last night. First dose in. Very worried it won't work and i wasted the money.

Mrsw123 · 07/09/2024 10:10

2 days in and so far this stuff is magic! Have no desire to snack - kids had sweets yesterday and I didn't have any desire to nick one! Wasn't not hungry or hungry if that makes sense - ate really sensibly and managed it well, but no snacking or thinking about food. Altho food noise has been replaced with an obsession over whether I'm hungry or not 😂

NowImNotDoingIt · 07/09/2024 10:12

Is everyone planning to go up to 5mg after the 4 weeks ?

EBoo80 · 07/09/2024 10:13

Totally agree @Mrsw123 - we got a Domino’s takeaway one night this week, which is kids favourite and often my downfall. I ate one slice, felt full and was able to leave leftovers.
that’s one of my non-weight goals is to try and correct my thinking about ‘tidying up’ (ie stuffing my face with) every morsel on my own plate, and often the kids plates too. It’s very deeply ingrained in me but I think will help me longer term.

I also had awful nausea during my pregnancy and that was the reason I was dithering about starting this for so long, but it’s day 4 for me today and I’ve not felt any negative side effects so far. Really hoping it stays that way!

I’ve also got a holiday booked for the October half term and was planning to possibly skip that week if I had any really bad side effects but if things remain the way they are then I’ll continue as planned.

exusername · 07/09/2024 10:18

Amazing loss @EJA24 💐

Ticktockbangbang · 07/09/2024 10:22

Thank you exusername. That's really helpful.

I might order it anyway. I'm assuming it can stay in the fridge for 3 weeks if I decide not to use it now. Does anyone know please?

HOL2024 · 07/09/2024 10:36

So do you have to store it in the fridge after the first dose? Or just at room temperature? I’ll be doing my first one tonight.

Purplehearts757 · 07/09/2024 11:04

spinningisthebest · 07/09/2024 08:19

Flowers

Welldone 🙂 i also keep stepping on the scales!

Sadteacher · 07/09/2024 11:22

@Ticktockbangbang how long are you going away for? If one week I’d say start, 2 weeks maybe wait until you are back?

@EJA24 thats brilliant!

@NowImNotDoingIt yes i am planning to go straight to 5 for my next pen. I’m not noticing much in 2.5, no side effects and only lost a couple of pounds in week 1.

Some kind people on here have told me it can be stored anywhere as long as it's not over 30degrees (which isn't an issue in Scotland where I am 😂)

Belindabelle · 07/09/2024 11:29

I have popped my pen in the fridge inside a bag of celery. It could safely remain in there undetected until the end of time with my family.

Once I take my first shot on Monday I won’t refrigerate.

@Ticktockbangbang yes you can keep your unused pen in the fridge until you are ready to start. There is a use by date. I think mine is April 2025.

Ticktockbangbang · 07/09/2024 11:37

Sadteacher - yes, I've just been thinking about this. Probably not fair on DH to not drink and turn my nose up at food on holiday (we are going all inclusive 😂). I'm going to wait until I get back and then I'll have a clear run until Christmas.

I've found out about how long it has been stored from one of the provider's websites.

I'm currently on holiday and skipped a dose. I'm on 10mg now and it's been the worst dose for side effects (fatigue, headaches etc) so I decided to skip it because I don't want to be wiped out on my holiday.
