I've just started this morning after months of research. Feeling nervous but excited. Any other new or existing users want to join support and share successes?

Took my first dose last night and just looked at the clock and realised I worked through lunch and it's nearly dinner time. So my total intake today has been 3x coffees.

Need to keep an eye on that because I shouldn't completely skip meals I think.

alwaysscared · 06/09/2024 17:34

I've done it, no going back now

alwaysscared · 06/09/2024 17:36

And ignore my post about the quick pen, it was still lots of clicks!

Doggymummar · 06/09/2024 17:58

I'm going to start when my pen arrives, it was dispatched today so might be tomorrow or Monday. I'm moving over from Rybelsus have been on 14mg for about 18 months on and off but it has stopped working so my coach suggested trying Mounjaro. I have resisted for a long time as I don't like the idea of injections but I have only lost a stone in about three months now so it's become quite expensive for not much gain.

Fingers crossed mj will be the kick I need. I lost 4 stone last year and probably need to lose another 5. But 3 will see me at a healthy BMI

AutumnJ0y · 06/09/2024 18:26

Hi!! Please can I join in? I just received my pen today and it's in the fridge ready to go! I've ordered vitamins and protein shake in preparation for my first jab. Just wondering when would be best to do it. My daughter starts pre school on Tuesday and I'm in two minds if I should jab this Sunday or wait until after her first day in case of side effects.

I've done a ton of research and have watched endless tik tok videos of current users! I'm excited and apprehensive at the same time!

5ft 1 and 71kgs. BMI 31! Looking to go down to 60kgs at the very least!

OldKnees · 06/09/2024 18:57

Another September starter reporting for duty!

I did my first jab at lunchtime. Don’t feel any different so far, aside from a slight headache, which may be coincidence.

Current weight: 96.8 kg
Height: 5 foot 3
BMI: 37 (ulp!)
I think 70 kg is a realistic goal.

SpiderMother · 06/09/2024 18:58

I'm coming to the end of first day. I don't feel great but that's a cold I think and it was there before the injection. Otherwise, no noticeable side effects. I think I've been a bit less hungry - I've had a protein shake and 3/4s of a pret soup so far, plus water/peppermint tea. I possibly felt a bit fuller quicker. But I am hungry now and ready to eat.

Hope everyone else is doing ok today and good luck to anyone waiting to do the 1st dose. I'm glad i was brave enough.

raspberrymeringue · 06/09/2024 20:23

I did my first injection at 8.30am today. It's been sitting in the fridge for a few days whilst I deliberated. Went out for lunch with friends not feeling any different, but did leave a bit which is unusual for me. But this evening I found I wasn't feeling any hunger at all. Ate two boiled eggs and a small slice of wholemeal because I know I need to eat, and am keeping an eye on fluid intake. Got a mild headache so don't know if that is connected. Really love reading about others experiences so thanks all.

MetabolismLost · 06/09/2024 21:06

Is anyone taking collagen supplements to help their skin have a chance of elasticity and fight the inevitable sagginess?

alwaysscared · 06/09/2024 21:12

Took my first dose 4 hrs ago and I'm hungry, all I can think of is food! I had 2 slices of toast with banana on and an apple.
I won't eat anything else as I'm scared of side effects but I'm already thinking that this isn't going to work. I'll be one of the ones it doesn't work for. Nothing else has worked so why should this??

OldKnees · 06/09/2024 21:16

@alwaysscared I don’t think most people feel a difference that quickly! I certainly haven’t. I did my first injection around 1.30 and had two small helpings of pasta around 5 pm and a slice of bread and butter just now and am still feeling a bit peckish.

poppy80 · 06/09/2024 21:20

The appetite suppression has definitely worn off. I've had a "normal" day where I'm constantly snacking, thinking about what to eat next. I can't believe the difference from only a few days ago. I just need to get through tomorrow and 2nd dose on Sunday morning.

I've been approved and just waiting on delivery now. Excited!

EJA24 · 06/09/2024 21:53

@poppy80 I’ve just had my second jab tonight but similar to you found I had to use a lot of willpower the last couple of days. If the same happens next week I may take the third dose a day or 2 early!

@alwaysscared I was extremely sceptical before starting and didn’t think the meds did anything to me at first. Felt completely normal but then at the end of day 2 it hit me that I wasn’t at all hungry and had literally had no thoughts of food other than at planned meal times. Actually blows my mind that a tiny injection takes away hunger/cravings/greed - maybe this lack of constant thoughts of food is what normal feels like! Keep the faith! X

exusername · 06/09/2024 22:11

End of day 3 for me today and I can honestly say I feel no hunger at all. I’ve had to force myself to eat on a few occasions.

It’s great to hear how everyone is getting on.

Sadteacher · 06/09/2024 22:13

@MetabolismLost I am taking tablets from Holland and Barrett. Too early to know if they are making a difference. On other threads they say powder is more effective.

@EJA24 I am the same, could easily have taken my second jab after 6 days. Not sure if that’s allowed!

wohmum · 06/09/2024 23:36

1st injection done. I had to watch a video first on YouTube to make sure I understood it! Felt a bit lightheaded for a minute or 2 but I think that was just due to doing an injection - which was easy and painless.
hoping I don’t get much in the way of side effects as have a busy weekend!
good luck to the other newbies

You're thinking about food because you are doing something MASSIVE about eating too much.

It's very normal

Izzydogmum · 07/09/2024 07:03

Week 1 done.

Had a week of no snacking at all! Shocked myself, normally sat at my desk at home I would wander to the fridge and cupboards and pick on and off all day.
But this week nothing! And I haven't missed the snacks either.
Need to up my water intake this week, only having 1 litre and need to aim for 2.

SW: 304.5lbs
CW: 300lbs
Total loss: 4.5lbs

To 1st target: 25lbs

Good luck to all starting today, or weighing in today.
Really hope this is the answer for us all!
Onwards and downwards as they say!

SunshineAutumn · 07/09/2024 07:18

So ordered Wednesday, arrived yesterday! Wooo hoooo

But I can't find the needles?? I've the pulled the packaging apart but can't find them?

Are they sent separately

SunshineAutumn · 07/09/2024 07:19

MesExpress BTW

EBoo80 · 07/09/2024 07:33

I’m on my first week with Voy. Injected on Tues, and very impressed with suppression so far. The lack of food noise is amazing.
because I’ve been fretting about my weight this summer I feel like I’ve been thinking about nothing but (not) eating all summer, and now there’s just peace and quiet in my brain.
zero weight loss yet (I weigh most days). Which is kind of odd because I’ve definitely been eating about half as much as usual.
