I daily weigh, and have lost nothing in a week.

Oh no

Hope that's not me tomorrow

TheShellBeach · 22/08/2024 11:43

I've lost virtually nothing this week, but the general trend is downwards, my clothes are too big and I look thinner.
I'm happy with that.

Only 7st left to lose.

Morning all. 2nd injection today. Do I have to go through the whole prep procedure with the new needle?

Yes, because you are priming the needle

MidLifeResurgence74 · 22/08/2024 11:48

Just taken dose 3 of 2.5mg. As always, feel really jittery just before I take it!

Week one: lost 10lbs
Week two: lost 1lb
SW 14 stone 5
CW 13 stone 8
GW 12 stone maximum - if I can get below that then whoooop!

The sickness/constant nausea finally wore off after 12 solid days (so all the way through dose one and half way through dose two) but interestingly, once the nausea went, so did the appetite suppression and lack of food noise.

I've been on holiday Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday and found I COULD have eaten whatever I liked (I jab on a Thursday) but like someone else further up the chain said, psychologically I kept saying "I'm not wasting £140 on eating crap now!" so my own willpower and lifestyle changes are as important as the medication.

Because I've really struggled with the side effects I did think I would stay on 2.5mg for another month but now I'm pretty sure I'll move up to 5mg.

I really appreciate having this thread here and reading all your journeys.

I have done. I have read people say that they don't but I don't really understand why they wouldn't. Surely every time you fit on a new needle you need to fill it with liquid first otherwise you are putting a needle full of air in to you ( I know it's a miniscule amount but even so)

MissFancyDay · 22/08/2024 12:01

Quick question, when are people ordering their second pen. I'm thinking I might order it halfway through week 3.

I wonder if they will send me a prompt to reorder, I'm with Zava at the moment.

With Oushk you can specify a delivery date so I ordered during week 2 just so I knew the order was in the system!

I am due to take dose 3 on Sunday, MedExpress emailed me yesterday, not sure when to order though as I am going away for a few days and don't want it languishing in the post!

Whenever suits you. I’m going to order it during week 4. My pharmacy didn’t let me order the next one until x amount of time had passed after the first order. I’m working from home next week, so I’ll be home to accept deliveries. I’m travelling this week so no point ordering it now.

As long as it arrives before 5th September, it’s in time for my 5th dose.

Yep I follow the full set of instructions in the leaflet every time which includes priming.

It doesn’t make sense not to. As you are using a new needle each time you are priming the needle just as much as the pen.

lookathatbookcase · 22/08/2024 12:18

I'm picking up Pen 2 (5mg) this afternoon, and am taking my 4th dose on Saturday (2.5mg).

NippyCrab · 22/08/2024 13:10

Hello 👋 that's my switch from Voy to Oushk done with ease and my new pen is due tomorrow. It's another 2.5mg but I'm happy with that. I'm taking my 4th dose of the Voy pen and that's me on the Friday for jabbing which I wanted. Because I felt so 💩 the first week on 2.5 I'm going to split the 5mg dose. I've added a pic that someone shared for me on the other group telling you what clicks makes which dose. I've noticed this week that I've felt a little bit more hungry and I am certainly not as fatigued as my first week, that was flipping chronic. We have a new puppy so that's kept me busy all day and not thinking about undesirable food.
I met my friend yesterday for a coffee and she wanted food, wouldn't eat if I wasn't getting anything and she wanted a pancake stack. Yes I succumbed to the Pancakes, raspberries, white chocolate sauce, and nuts. We had the pups with us so I was able to pick at it and eat slowly, it was nice but I just managed half. It was good to actually eat like a normal person instead of gorging myself.
I'm hoping the wee half pound that eluded me last week if off and that's me at my first stone off, that's since January though, I just started MJ 5th August. I don't care what I lose each week, the medication is allowing me to make good choices when I'm tired and emotional. Xxx

NippyCrab · 22/08/2024 13:11

Ooh where gave you ordered from? I’d like to be able to collect rather than having it sit on the doorstep all day while I’m at work.

happygertie · 22/08/2024 13:28

I have finally done my first injection. I kept putting it off due to a stressful week at work and I do have a busy work day tomorrow, but I also have a busy bank hol weekend so thought I just need to crack on with it!

It was painless and straight forward. I just really hope my side effects aren't too bad tomorrow, would be easier to cope over weekend if I have nausea / upset tummy than tomorrow.

CornishGem1975 · 22/08/2024 14:17

Fingers crossed @happygertie I am on dose two of 2.5mg and had no side effects at all so far.

poppym12 · 22/08/2024 14:53

Sooooo hungry today. First time I've felt ravenous. I'm on week 2, day 4.

I've drunk lots of water, consumed protein and fibre but it's not helping. No idea what to have for my evening meal.

cosylife · 22/08/2024 15:41

Week 1 day 5 and after a 90 minute walk I felt sooo hungry. First time I’ve felt hungry - I think I read that someone started to feel the hunger and the suppression lessen the closer they got to their next jab?

lookathatbookcase · 22/08/2024 16:09

@ChunkyMunky ASDA!

I'm going to have my second jab later tonight and I've definitely felt slightly more hungry the last couple of days. However, it was still easier to distract myself than it would normally be, and when I did eat something I was full quickly.

lookathatbookcase · 22/08/2024 16:30

Worth remembering that semaglutide is actively designed to decay within 1 week, so the increasing hunger around this time is perfectly normal.

cosylife · 22/08/2024 16:59

Thanks @weaseleyes

@lookathatbookcase mounjaro isn’t semaglutide, it’s tirzepetide but I can see them both being similar in terms of wearing off.

SilverSprings510 · 22/08/2024 17:15

Day two here, and I’m just not hungry. I have had a protein yoghurt with protein granola this morning, and I am still not hungry now (though I did drink a protein shake at lunchtime). For tea I’ll be having a chicken breast with carrots and peas so we will see how much I manage. I also walked past my fave chocolate bar in the shops this morning without buying it 😂 unheard of for me.
Side effect wise, I’m just tired. I did feel sick this morning but it resolved it selves quite quickly.

AnnieMcFanny · 22/08/2024 17:28

CornishGem1975 · 22/08/2024 14:17

I’ve just taken dose 2 of 2.5 and my only side effect was sulphur urine, boom booms and you know what for a few hours a couple of days ago.

I’m weighing myself tomorrow morning but I think I’ve lost about a kilo which I’ll be happy with if it’s true. There have been other things going on, NSV, that have put a spring in my step.

Hi Happygertie - all the best on your journey.

Whoyoutakingto · 22/08/2024 18:06

I am on week 2 day 1. I have had no side effects and lost 10.5 lbs really happy.
I am confused about people talking about clicks?
Can someone explain please, I just turn the pen to 1? I am doubting myself now😞
