Just started.

Would be great to hear from others who are just starting.

First injection was was 28th July. No side effects so far. Appetite is decreasing but not as much as I've seen on other threads.

4 stone at least to lose.

I'm going to use this thread to give myself an online record.

I had mine about 6pm, felt a bit windy and bloated. Wasn't sure I really wanted any dinner, ate a small bowl of wholemeal pasta with pesto.

Slept fine. Feeling OK this morning but definitely windy.

0.6kg down on yesterday, though I am sure that's just normal fluctuation.

Pieris24 · 06/08/2024 09:00

Just catching up. I’ve decided to start before hols as I can do jabs on day we leave and day we come back, if I time it right and delivery arrives. If it doesn’t arrive on time, how long does it keep in the fridge ?

I am worried about constipation, any tips on how to avoid this apart from drinking more water ?

Potterson13 · 06/08/2024 10:04

I've also been mega thirsty! Such a dry mouth. That's my most annoying symptom so far I think!

AuntieDote · 06/08/2024 10:07

Day 2, I feel more or less fine today. Bit windy but that’s not unusual for me anyway.

Yesterday the suppression was strong and anything I did eat - chewing and swallowing felt a chore. Almost like an aversion to eating. I ate bits throughout the day but no proper meals really. Then at 9pm I was suddenly really hungry and had 3 rich tea biscuits - definitely what I’ve been trying to avoid doing (although previously would have been half a packet at least; so that’s something!) I went for those though because the thought of anything else was really turning my stomach.

Today I need to focus on eating better meals to hopefully prevent that evening hunger. The food aversion side doesn’t feel anything like as strong - I probably could quite happily eat something, however I haven’t yet today as I’m not hungry.

I’ve had an electrolyte drink and my usual vitamins. I’m going to try and eat something now though - maybe some scrambled egg.

Princessandthepie · 06/08/2024 10:34

Day 4 (feel like saying that in the big brother voice over voice)

Lost a pound this morning! It's slow going but it's nice to see the scales going down, just wish it was a bit more.

Cracking headache and bloating are still in force! My plans of food prep yesterday went out the window as I was out all day.

And I'm so tired, I could happily stay on the sofa but I need to jostle the kids out the door!

Had a coffee and a yoghurt for breakfast so I'm hoping for an energy boost soon.

Not sure whether doing this in the summer holidays was the best idea but at least I'll be over the worst symptoms by the time I need to get back to a normal routine! 🤞

farfromideal · 06/08/2024 11:11

Second injection today. Started at 82.7kg and I was 80.5 this morning. I'm happy with that!

No side effects and no constipation for me

lookathatbookcase · 06/08/2024 11:26

Day 2 in the Mounjaro House, and bookcase's constipation is lifting (sorry for the horrible detail). The peppermint oil capsules have also really helped with related issues.

Forgot I had a dinner with a friend tonight, but have persuaded her that my appetite has plummeted because of the heat so we're going to a tapas place where hopefully I can eat enough protein and have some veg (small plates = saviour of Team Mounjaro). Going to make sure I have enough water and another small meal mid-afternoon. Energy levels seem ok, no headache.

Addictedtobeauty · 06/08/2024 11:54

Day 4 and things are ticking along. I appear to have had very mild side effects compared to many of you, just an ambient low level headache that comes and goes and very mild nausea. I usually love coffee- can’t face it today (but that might be because we ran out of nice coffee and OH bought a weaker blend and I don’t like it!). Drinking loads of water which I love, slight dry mouth but not awful and definite appetite suppression which seems to fluctuate. Yesterday felt like a normal day and I thought effects were wearing off but I feel it again today. I’m pleasantly surprised so far. I don’t know what I was expecting but I feel really normal. I’m still able to swim and lift, eating less but regularly and mostly healthy. Long may it continue!

Eeek first pen has arrived! When's the best time to do it? After lunch?

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 06/08/2024 12:11

I think I'm going to order a pen.

It's now or never for me, I'm 24 and 280lbs. Want to lose about 6 stone, I know it really should be more but setting myself a 10 stone goal seems impossible right now.

I'm due to go away on Thursday, can't imagine the pen would arrive by then. Also going away at the end of the month.

The only thing I'm worried about is side effects - I'm going on a big trip with my dad and would hate to feel poorly, also worried about travelling with a pen (so would realistically have to start on a Monday or Tuesday).

What are the side effects like? Looking at voy for the prescription

CremeDeSudo · 06/08/2024 12:23

Although it's hubby's birthday today and I've promised him some ahem grown up time later so perhaps later this evening just in case...

Addictedtobeauty · 06/08/2024 12:46

@CremeDeSudo I did mine early on Saturday morning. Noticed effects quickly but that could be placebo! If you are celebrating tonight, I’d leave it so you’re not worried. I got my pen on Friday but was going out with friends so waited -, didn’t know how I would react and wanted to enjoy myself.

Addictedtobeauty · 06/08/2024 12:52

@NeedSomeAnswersPlease everyone is different- my side effects so far are not an issue- only on week 1 still so may be speaking too soon! Most common seem to be nausea, headache and either diarrhoea or constipation. From reading other posts, Voy deliver quickly (next day, I think I’ve read) so you maybe could get it by Thursday if you wanted. Good luck with whatever you choose. I’d say don’t rush your decision, take time to read about it first.

I've taken the plunge and ordered because I'm sick of being fat

I'll wait and see when it arrives but not use it this week if it does arrive by then as I don't want to be poorly for a weekend away with my friends!

Addictedtobeauty · 06/08/2024 12:58

@NeedSomeAnswersPlease congratulations , it feels like such a big decision and then it’s done! I'm also sick of being fat and absolutely no regrets on my decision. Fingers crossed for excellent progress.

It's been on my mind since ozempic became a thing last year, I've always said "6 more months then you'll see a doctor" but I'm worth more than that

@AuntieDote exactly the same here ! Yesterday didn’t think of food at all. Today I don’t feel the feeling is anywhere near as strong already! Maybe it was placebo.

I was wondering that too. I don't eat in the morning so I'm planning on doing it first thing on an empty stomach rather than later on a full stomach.

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 06/08/2024 13:42

Had to retake my photo as they rejected it because my fave wasn't visible. Had to get down to my pants in the work toilet to take it.

God it's shameful. Absolutely shameful. I never saw it before now

Peacelily001 · 06/08/2024 13:57

Day 2 for me, woke up not feeling hungry but that’s normal for me. Got an M&S meal deal for lunch . Healthy choice as I just didn’t want a sandwich. I got sushi, carrot sticks with hummus and a coffee.
I just can’t eat it. What is this whichcraft?!

Please don’t be down on yourself. I think we all cringed at our photos (mine were dreadful)

Just concentrate on that you’re doing something about it now x

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 06/08/2024 14:00

@Peacelily001 just want the damn thing approved and the pen sent to me now!! You can see from my driving license that I'm fat for gods sake

I used a different supplier but sent my photos in clothes - did you have to strip off? I’d have been horrified at this!

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 06/08/2024 14:50

@Addictedtobeauty had to be in tight clothing - I'm at work in a loose dress so had to strip off in the toilets!

Addictedtobeauty · 06/08/2024 14:59

That's hilarious! The things we do!
