Just started.

Would be great to hear from others who are just starting.

First injection was was 28th July. No side effects so far. Appetite is decreasing but not as much as I've seen on other threads.

4 stone at least to lose.

I'm going to use this thread to give myself an online record.

I’m a lb back on again this morning - at least. Honestly this week I’ve been up and down all week and not really made any headway. Even though I kept telling myself I couldn’t expect another big loss like the first week (5 or 6 lbs off depending on which reading I chose to believe!) I must admit I was secretly hoping for it again!

I know this morning is probably due to the salt in the Chinese food and water retention, rather than a true gain. I probably did go over my calories for the day yesterday, but given I’ve been way under for the previous 10 days or so I wouldn’t expect that to make any lasting impact.

I wouldn’t weigh every day on a normal diet because of things like this and I’d be so gutted and end up thinking fuck it pass the biscuits, but because the mounjaro is taking the edge off the food noise (I can’t say it’s completely gone this week) it’s not making me feel like that. I just sort of think ‘oh right; that’s useful info’.

I was going to stay at 2.5 for a second month but I’m wondering if I should move up after all. I certainly didn’t feel sick or anything like people saying after a more indulgent meal - I felt very full certainly, and I’m still not at all hungry this morning, but nothing extreme.

Sickofsquishies · 16/08/2024 11:29

Hi all. I am very new here, I started Mounjaro on Tuesday and almost immediately felt the effects. I am very prone to nausea so I did expect this and it has been quite bad. I have no appetite and when I do eat I get full very quickly. I had also been constipated so used a laxative yesterday which wasn't a good idea as I was up in the night with an upset stomach and then vomited.

All in all I am happy that I don't feel hungry and am getting full quickly, I just hope the nausea settles, I have taken a travel sickness pill today.

Does anyone know what happens if you do one week on and one week off? Would this stop it from working properly as it never builds up in your system or could that work? I'm not sure I can cope with feeling sick all the time, not as bad as the HG I had when pregnant but still makes things difficult. Has anyone else had this and it settles? Thank you

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/08/2024 11:31

Ok. Done

Seems simple enough

Now

Guess let's see what happens

Good luck all newbies and all those who have been on it for 1-2w of august

Wingingit11 · 16/08/2024 11:36

@Sickofsquishies I don’t think you can do on off. I was a bit meh the first couple of days but haven’t been so far on 2:5. Are you using a provider you can chat to about how to manage it.

Voy have cancelled my programme with them :(

Anyone know how long bolt take to approve a request? I have applied through them but need to take my next dose on Monday!!! I don’t know how Voy think they can diagnose someone with an eating disorder based on 15 minutes of questions

So they cancelled after your meeting?

Honeybee45 · 16/08/2024 11:43

I had my 1st injection 29/7 and weighed 12 stone 7 today I’m 11 stone 11. I’ve reordered 2.5mg for the next month as I’ve been feeling quite bloated and I’m happy with the weight loss so far. It’s so weird not feeling hungry!

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 16/08/2024 11:45

@Princessandthepie yep, had my meeting and I said I did used to binge but I have controlled that, they have cancelled based on that and have said i need to return the pen to them

Bloody hell, if they were that fussy about things then you'd think they be more strict at the start before sending your pen out.

What happens with your payment? Will you get a refund?

I'm sorry that's happened to you though

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 16/08/2024 11:55

@Princessandthepie I know right? I also don't think it's fair that this isn't advertised as being a possibility.

They have said to stop using it (yeah right) and if I post it back to them I will get a refund. It depends on whether I can get a new prescription in time to carry on on Monday. If I can't, I will be using it again on Monday. I know I don't have an eating disorder and that MJ has been the only thing to work for me, and someone with no knowledge of my personal circumstances can't tell me that's wrong

That’s really ridiculous and they should have been more clear upfront. Are they refunding you in full? As I say I mentioned bingeing in my call and it wasn’t such an issue

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 16/08/2024 11:59

@AuntieDote I assume so when I return the pen to them? I don’t know why they want the pen back though as they can't reuse it?

That's really crap of them

If they had concerns they shouldn't have approved and sent to you

Guess so they can't be accused or aiding and abetting you 🙄

So what happens if you don't return the pen? What will they do?

Surely, the only thing they can do is not sell you another pen?

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 16/08/2024 12:02

@Blondeshavemorefun ridiculous imo because it gives people false hope and can worsen their mental health!!! I personally don't have concerns so that should be enough for them

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 16/08/2024 12:03

@Princessandthepie I won't get a refund and I guess they'll be trusting me to not use it?

Princessandthepie · 16/08/2024 12:07

@NeedSomeAnswersPlease well I'd have problem with no refund if I kept the pen and continued to use it and then just got a new order from a new company.

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 16/08/2024 12:08

I mean I can get a 2.5mg pen for cheaper from Bolt!!! Just so so pissed off because I don't have an eating disorder

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 16/08/2024 12:11

Bolt order now with the clinical team for review. Missed next day delivery so cutting it fine for Monday!!

Arraminta · 16/08/2024 12:15

Well just had an early lunch in our local cafe which does incredible cakes and stuff. But I was quite content to just have a chicken and bacon salad. No yearning for cakes and pastries, at all! It's like witchcraft!

That is so short sighted of them. Surely you are the very person who does need MJ? I have read quite a few research papers about how MJ is very effective at curbing the need to binge, and other addictive behaviours.

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 16/08/2024 12:19

@Arraminta I know right??? They have decided this isn't the best way and want to sell me a CBT course, at the end of which I may be offered MJ

I'm so angry on your behalf. Surely one of the main things MJ proves it that some people have chemical switches that are very difficult to turn off? All the bloody talking therapy in the world isn't going to help that! Is like telling someone with diabetes to 'talk themselves better.'

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 16/08/2024 12:27

@Arraminta I think I just came across as someone who is desperate to lose weight and so would accept the talking therapy (no doubt at an extortionate price) and then go back to MJ. really gutted but hoping bolt approve me asap
