Just started.

Would be great to hear from others who are just starting.

First injection was was 28th July. No side effects so far. Appetite is decreasing but not as much as I've seen on other threads.

4 stone at least to lose.

I'm going to use this thread to give myself an online record.

How long did most people take for the first injection to start working? I did my injection yesterday evening and still feel the same this morning. Getting envious of the person who can’t manage a cup of tea a few hours later! 😂

I felt fuller than usual after I took it and when I went to bed, woke up the next morning nauseous and not hungry.

This dose isn't therapeutic though it's to get your body used to it so it may take some time to feel the effects x

Morning all, I had my first jab on Sunday and it’s been brill. No side effects and the food suppression kicked in by that evening, which surprised me. I am down 4lbs so far but I know some of that will be water weight, but here’s to hoping for steady losses. Been forcing myself to eat at least 1200 calories a day & tracking my intake on an app so I can try to make sure I get what my body needs (in terms of protein, fibre etc)

Have hit the first issue though - out with friends last night who wanted to split some pub grub. I don’t want to tell people I’m on Mounjaro just yet and it would be very telling if I said ‘no’ to food! so I accepted, had a very small amount of food (one slice of plain pizza and a couple of chips) but have woke up today feeling soooo sick. Mistakes were made!

Blondephantom · 16/08/2024 08:09

Well done @NeedSomeAnswersPlease - that is an awesome loss. I have lost five pounds this week but nothing other the last couple of days. I am half a pound of having a different stone at the start of my weight. So close I can almost taste it. Still that is eight and a half pounds since I started which isn’t bad for two weeks. More relaxed day today to reset then hopefully onwards and downwards.

Thank you! It's mostly water of course but I'm not bothered by that!

If you can’t have a sliver of cake in a birthday; is life being lived? It was quite easy to be disciplined the other day as I had no hunger and no food noise at all. Tomorrow, I will be eating, drinking and being merry. Life is for living. Though we are talking a slightly more relaxed meal and a couple of drinks. Feel I’ve earned it this week. So excited for my official weigh in tomorrow. Surely I must have lost weight when I’ve been so under on calories!

Absolutely this!

9lbs gone since Monday!!! I'm in shock. I thought last night it might have been wearing off from me but I woke up this morning and starting gagging so definitely not 🤣 absolutely over the moon

Omg that's amazing! Very amused that you're happy to be gagging though 🤣

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 16/08/2024 09:04

@CremeDeSudo last night I felt so hungry and I was gutted that it had worn off 3 days before my next injection, this morning my mum said hello and I just gagged in her face 🤣🤣🤣🤣horrific but also great to know it's still working

Princessandthepie · 16/08/2024 09:13

@Blondephantom I felt like that, life is for living, then I had some pizza and breaded chicken, all weighed and calorie counted, less than 500!

I thought I was going to explode! I felt so bloated and sick, add that on to the constipation, nausea and headache, I can safely say the pizza wasn't worth it!! 🤢

poppym12 · 16/08/2024 09:14

I'm a kilo heavier than yesterday. Makes no sense with my deficit, only thing I did was drink even more water as I felt hungrier. I'm going to weigh a couple of times a week I think so that I can see how it fluctuates for no reason to stop me getting disheartened.

Arraminta · 16/08/2024 09:17

Morning everyone. Had my first jab yesterday tea time. I missed dinner last night as I didn't feel particularly hungry (but had eaten quite a big lunch). Made myself drink 3 pints of water instead. Am 1lb lighter this morning.

No side effects so far, though do feel hungry this morning!

Hi, honestly I thought I was imaging things and felt quite embarrassed asking if it could be working after a few hours. But it is. I had toast for my breakfast when I’d normally have eggs as well but because I had something going on at home I needed something quick. Fours hours later I haven’t had any hunger pangs and although I think I could go without lunch I’m going to have something because it’s good for my health. That said I’d usually be shaking a bit by now due to my prediabetes but there’s been none of that.

So 13 days in, 9lbs down!! I'm in the 14's!!

SW 15 stones 8lbs
CW 14 stones 13lbs

It's been a bit of a roll coaster this week, Monday I felt dead tired, couldn't do a thing, I've been bloated, nauseated, had constipation, had diarrhoea. Yesterday was the only day in 2 weeks that my stomach felt "settled".

But overall, I think it's getting easier, I'm happy to keep away crappy food like pizza, fried food etc, the after effects simply aren't worth it, my love for salads is back and I'm happy with that. Happy to report that I've still not had any alcohol either, my skin is clearer, my puffy face has gone, cheekbones are almost visible again and the vile double chin is certainly on its way out 😃 I have started doing gua sha which I think is helping.

I'll be injecting tonight and have a busy weekend ahead too with day trips with the kids so hopefully my stomach won't cause me too much grief.

It's definitely a learning curve but I'm really happy with the progress I'm making! 😃

Are you constipated?

My weight went up one day so I think it's part of the journey.

Maybe drink more water?

UniqueLemonOrca · 16/08/2024 09:35

First week done, weighed this morning and lost 3.5lb. I'm chuffed with that as I'm post menopausal and have had few, if any, side effects. Another major win is no food noise - for the first time in 60 years.

And isn't it peaceful without the food noise? 😃

I don't think so. I did have to force myself to go yesterday but as I'm eating much less, there will be less 'waste'. I have had a migraine for the last 2 days so have moved even less than usual. And I drank more water yesterday than other days.

hopeful5018 · 16/08/2024 09:49

Can I join please?

I had my first injection on Wednesday. Felt a bit lightheaded and nauseous but nothing too bad. I've been exhausted but this is probably due to my period.

I've been amazed at how quickly I've stopped thinking about or wanting food! I've done less exercise than I normally would (I usually run 3 times a week) because I didn't want to overdo it this early on.

Weighed myself this morning and I've lost 3lbs already! Hoping my scales aren't dodgy and this is genuine!

I'm stumped then. But as I said, I gained 1lb last weekend then dropped 2 the next day so maybe it's just our bodies adjusting.

Just see how you get on over the next few days and try not to be too disheartened ❤️

End of week 1 for me and I would class it as a success overall.
SW: 16st 12
CW: 16st 9

So 3lb off which is fine. I didn't have many side effects and the suppression wore off mid week so I have been calorie counting.

I'm going to inject 2.5 ml again today but I'm seriously thinking of increasing the dose slightly to 3.5 ml or so in weeks 3 and 4 using up the spare liquid in my pen. I'm a massive stickler for rules though so I don't know if I will. What does anyone think?

MargoLivebetter · 16/08/2024 10:59

My pack has arrived! I'm going to put off the first injection until Sunday evening, as I have a tonne of stuff organised for this weekend and don't want to feel off my game in any way. I have a quiet week at work next week, so Sunday night seems like a good idea.

I have a holiday abroad coming up in one month. Have those of you who have been on holiday taken their injections with them? Or taken a break? I'm not sure what to do.
