Just started.

Would be great to hear from others who are just starting.

First injection was was 28th July. No side effects so far. Appetite is decreasing but not as much as I've seen on other threads.

4 stone at least to lose.

I'm going to use this thread to give myself an online record.

Today was injection day for me. Initially I thought I messed the injection up but it seems to have well and truly kicked in now.

I had the injection midday then went out with a friend. I had a slice of cake whilst out. Then at around 2pm had a pasta ready meal with salad & a bag of crisps. I don’t think I’ve overeaten (albeit it’s not healthy food!)

I haven’t eaten since then. However I just took my evening supplements (multivitamins, collagen etc) with water and I suddenly feel so full it’s ridiculous. My stomach literally hurts and I feel nauseous. It feels like I have overeaten. It’s strange.

Oh dear, that's how I felt before I had a really bad night. I hope you're feeling much better this morning Flowers

DumbledoresWand · 15/08/2024 08:51

Hi :)... a little bit late to the August Munjaro thread - I've just been prescribed this for T2 diabetes.
I spent 3 mths on Rybelsus, never really being able to tolerate the 7mg dose. Lots of vomiting, sulphur burps, and feeling generally unwell. I did lose a stone but had to call in sick for work, cancel family and social events... so I'm just wondering if anyone has had these sort of symptoms on munjaro?

poppym12 · 15/08/2024 09:26

I did my first injection on Sunday and I'm 2.4kg down from Monday's weigh in.

This isn't unusual for me when I start properly tracking calories and obviously there will be water loss making up most of that.

I'm also hungry today. First call is at 11 and I'm already wondering whether I should just try to do this the old fashioned way rather than injections. Problem is, I never stick to it for long enough.

Hi all,
I’ve been reading the thread since I started on 01/08.

It’s great to see so many people loosing with mounjaro.

im managed to loose 3.9kg/8.5lbs in 2 weeks.

starting 1/8: 85.5kg/13st6

9/8: 82.9kg/13st0.5

15/8: 81.6kg/12st12.5

my side effects have been mainly nausea/mild constipation and muscle aches, though muscle aches are only for the day after shot day.

my goals is 65kg/10st3 (hopefully by Xmas)🤞🏼🤞🏼

Princessandthepie · 15/08/2024 09:56

Another 1lb off today.

So 8lbs in 12 days!

My stomach felt awful yesterday but settled by the evening so I had a 'proper' meal of quiche, roasted potatoes and salad, all weighed and measured so it was less than 500 calories (less than 900 for the day) and for the first time, I didn't have a stomach ache. Feel much better today with a pound off, no nausea or stomach ache.

I'm not kidding myself, I'll inject tomorrow night to start the whole process of stomach aches and nausea again no doubt.

Blondephantom · 15/08/2024 10:05

@Princessandthepie, fantastic weight loss so far. You might be surprised with the symptoms. Your body should get used to it so will hopefully it will get a bit easier each time. A friend of mine has moved up to 5mg and warned me I don’t know what is about to hit me so maybe I’m just naive.

I'm on day 2 of week 2 and thankfully haven't had a repeat of last week's body rejection of food! I'm not feeling the nausea either, just not hungry and having to make a conscious effort to eat at appropriate times. I'm very relieved as I was wondering if it was worth feeling so grim!

This is me! Week one was so so grim days 2-5 but just taken my second dose and have prepped with anti-nausea pills, and zero food that I now know causes me to feel ill (for anyone just starting out, I stupidly decided to have two slices of sauscisson sec - NEVER AGAIN!).

@Blondeshavemorefun I do, always have done which probably isn't the healthiest habit!! I think because I'm new to it it's the novelty of seeing the weight woosh down

I'm so excited to be different by Christmas!! It's all a bit of a cycle I think, I see the scales going down, feel healthier because of what I'm eating and therefore want to exercise more!

I'm calorie counting just to be curious, and to keep an eye on higher calorie foods x

@blondeshavemorefun

I'm weighing daily at the moment. It makes me aware of the natural fluctuations you experience daily, and I always think that if one of the random higher days is my weigh day, I'd be disheartened, whereas this way I can see the overall trend going down 😊

Probably due to the high amount of sugar / carbs . Hope you're ok today! That was a lot of unhealthy food in a couple of hours so your tummy probably won't like it 🫣

You will soon learn what your body can handle!

What app do you use to log it?

I'm using happy scale which shows me what my "actual" weight is as well, and evens out all the natural fluctuations which is nice! It thinks I'll be 16 stone by 10 Feb if I lose 2lbs a week

CremeDeSudo · 15/08/2024 10:51

@needsomeanswersplease

It's just called 'Monitor Your Weight'. I can't see Happy Weight in my app store - are you on Apple?

I get a handy summary panel and graph with overall trend 😁

I'm on Android and we don't have it! I like yours better though!

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 15/08/2024 11:09

@CremeDeSudo oh no!! I used it at the start of the year when I lost about a stone but deleted it when I stalled so I've started from scratch 🤣 really interested to see if I stick to 2lbs per week after this week or if I'll stay at a faster rate, considering my holiday that I have booked

MissFancyDay · 15/08/2024 11:15

I have an android phone too, I'd like something like that. I really like to weigh every day, the natural fluctuations are interesting, although I understand why some wouldn't.

I read Fast, feast, repeat by Gin Stephens and she recommends weighing every day then doing some maths (can't remember off the top of my head) to get your actual weight loss rate.

But it would be great to have an app to do it.

In all honesty I do tend to focus on the number on the scale just cos I don't get how it can be wrong 🤣 but I like seeing the prediction of when I'll hit my targets

Princessandthepie · 15/08/2024 11:27

Thanks @Blondephantom
Although the symptoms are crappy, the joy of actually losing weight is worth it.

As for tracking apps, I've just been using my fitness pal, I know how to use it so it works for me. Voy have a weight tracker so I have to log that.

I don't want to get too bogged down with apps, tracking and weighing. I don't want scale noise to replace food noise.

MissFancyDay · 15/08/2024 11:45

@Princessandthepie Yes, the goal is definitely to have no noise of any sort concerning food, weight etc. But it's too early for me yet 😄 I'm too excited

Hopefully it'll all become commonplace and just a new way of living. On the subject of Christmas, I'm really looking forward to being slimmer AND being able to control myself. I've always thought that I would never be able to enjoy myself at Christmas without the Baileys and greasy food. But this year I will, and the hope is to really change my mindset about a lot of things.

Well done all on your losses.

Princessandthepie · 15/08/2024 11:51

@MissFancyDay yeah I get it. But before, I found myself too bogged down by apps, tracking, weighing, measuring etc.

However, I think I'm spending way too much time on my phone anyway these days so I certainly don't need yet another app that needs attention! 🤣

lookathatbookcase · 15/08/2024 12:42

Day 12 - only a couple of lb off so far, but I'll take it; happy to be in this for the long run. As mentioned elsewhere, the oedema on one of my ankles seems to have completely vanished and this was something that had made me so miserable for years.

Minimal side effects so far, and I've managed to counter those I had - muscle twitches went away after I started taking electrolytes; sulphur burps were initially tackled with peppermint capsules, and now just by smaller meals. Very very tired in the evenings, so am shifting my weights training / yoga to the morning. Eating almost the same as I was before, just smaller portions, more protein/less carbs, and no snacks/sweets (no crisps in 2 weeks is an actual miracle).

Godspeed all.
