Just started.

Would be great to hear from others who are just starting.

First injection was was 28th July. No side effects so far. Appetite is decreasing but not as much as I've seen on other threads.

4 stone at least to lose.

I'm going to use this thread to give myself an online record.

I've eaten some alpro greek yoghurt with a scoop of collagen powder, raspberries and a kiwi. I don't particularly feel full, just nauseous. Very odd.

Redlightbulb · 14/08/2024 15:00

I have a really dry mouth this afternoon, some heart burn and feel like I have a constant food baby.
Going to make myself a smaller portion tonight for dinner as yesterday evening I could eat a normal sized portion but 20 mins after I had bad stomach pains and was bloated. Psychologically I find it hard to not clear my plate.

Last night I left 3/4 of my dinner and got a raised eyebrow from my dad but it turns out it's because he's worried about me buying the injections online, I felt so guilty!!

Yeah, I think they just see the horror stories in the media where people buy the injections from unscrupulous places and end up in hospital.
They don't realise there are proper registered pharmacies online that you can buy the real stuff from and that you need a prescription.

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 14/08/2024 15:11

@Redlightbulb exactly, he's told my mum he's worried as it's from the internet etc., but has said if I am happy he is happy. I know he's just looking out for me, I'm just glad he's not said anything negative

Joining. I've been accepted by Voy and have the video call tomorrow. I'm desperate to stop the food noise. I'm 55 and have been dieting since I was 14 years old.

I've successfully lost weight plenty of times but it takes iron clad will power and determination. As soon as I think I am restricting I become obsessed with food and it is all I can think of. All diets work for me, yes all of them, because I have tried them all! There isn't one that I haven't lost weight on but all I can think of whilst I am on them is food.

My weight has slowly crept up again after managing to keep it off longer than I ever have before and I have endless intrusive thoughts about food now, because I know I need to cut back again. I have osteoarthritis and a horrible rheumatoid type thing that means I really do need to keep my weight down, so I'm hoping that Mounjaro might help me with those thoughts.

Using a smaller plate helped me with me that. Dinner plates are stupidly large these days!

CremeDeSudo · 14/08/2024 16:09

This made me chuckle earlier 🤣

Ok I've done it. I've ordered.

Thank you all do much for replies and answering my questions over the last week or so. I appreciate it

I need to know if this can work. I've read and reread threads the last couple of weeks - googled a lot and then compared companies

could keep dithering or just bite the bullet and pulled on my big girls pants

Hopefully will be smaller pants in the future 😂

I went for med express in the end as they seem to cost the same for 2.5 and 5 and every other company is more or so a low reel you in price then put cost up a lot

Once I decided to go with them I googled for a code and found one for 25% off so have 2.5 for £131 including postage

I'm in the line for approval but says takes 4 days

Done my photos

And do they contact your gp? They asked for details

Today is day 3 of week 2 and I'm a burst cushion again! Same last week, I cut the grass this morning, it's a big garden, and I had to go for a sleep at 3pm 😂😂😂
The fatigue is no where near like last week though. X

Cosycover · 14/08/2024 19:31

The fatigue is what is worrying me the most tbh. I don't want to feel constantly tired.

Oh well...suppose I'll just wait and see come Friday.

MissFancyDay · 14/08/2024 20:15

@Cosycover just my experience, I have not had any noticeable extra fatigue, in fact I have felt really upbeat and energetic.

CremeDeSudo · 14/08/2024 20:26

I've just felt a bit tireder in the evenings for the first couple of days. I was fairly wiped out on day 3, but fine thereafter. Did pen 2 this morning and I feel a lovely sense of calm. I had this last week too!

I've been to the gym this evening and it went well! Also manged to eat better today so I'm pleased. Although I'm expecting the effects of the second pen to properly hit tomorrow.

AuntieDote · 14/08/2024 20:50

I feel more energised in the day I think (once the yuckier side effects wear off after a day or so after jabbing) but by evening I’m absolutely shattered. Already in my PJs and considering going to bed - could easily sleep too!

Nothing wrong with that!!! I'm usually in my PJs by 8:30 🤣

NippyCrab · 14/08/2024 20:59

@Cosycover it seems to be on day 3, I think if I hadn't done the garden I'd be okay. I have ME and Fibro so I'm prone to it, don't worry. I have also felt more energetic, calmer and more focused.
@NeedSomeAnswersPlease same, I've had a nice bath and I'm in my jammies with the dogs cuddled in.

Blondephantom · 14/08/2024 21:47

I’ve hit the point where my neuro illness symptoms return but that’s okay. It has been a lovely five days without them.

Been in a hyper focus working on the new business all day so eaten even less than usual. Only drank half of the water I should have too. Well, I say water but it is weak squash in the big bottle.

A friend and I have Friday evenings where we go off plan a bit - a few drinks and something slightly unhealthy for dinner. If I manage to pull together the last few pieces tomorrow, I’ll be celebrating launch day of the business and hopefully some weight loss!

Hope everything is going well for everyone.

WitchDancer · 14/08/2024 22:32

I'm on day 2 of week 2 and thankfully haven't had a repeat of last week's body rejection of food! I'm not feeling the nausea either, just not hungry and having to make a conscious effort to eat at appropriate times. I'm very relieved as I was wondering if it was worth feeling so grim!

WheresPerry · 14/08/2024 22:54

I started yesterday and have eaten quite a bit less today than usual, but was busy all afternoon. I've found I'm thinking about if it's doing anything or not a lot, so I don't really know if the food noise is gone yet.

SettingsOptions · 14/08/2024 23:55

Today was injection day for me. Initially I thought I messed the injection up but it seems to have well and truly kicked in now.

I had the injection midday then went out with a friend. I had a slice of cake whilst out. Then at around 2pm had a pasta ready meal with salad & a bag of crisps. I don’t think I’ve overeaten (albeit it’s not healthy food!)

I haven’t eaten since then. However I just took my evening supplements (multivitamins, collagen etc) with water and I suddenly feel so full it’s ridiculous. My stomach literally hurts and I feel nauseous. It feels like I have overeaten. It’s strange.

Idontliketea · 15/08/2024 06:54

My pen arrived yesterday and hoping to start taking it today. I'm wondering if there's a better time of day to take it? I've got a really long day today at work, so thinking about 8pm tonight - what are everyone's experiences of evening injections? TIA

Motnight · 15/08/2024 07:31

On day 6 of my second injection. I was really unwell again last night. Not entirely sure why. I did go out for dinner but chose to have a main course only and not eat all of that. It did taste very greasy though.

Am going to be extra careful today. I hadn't realised that this was just going to be one of the side effects for me.

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 15/08/2024 07:56

Week 1 day 3. 8lbs down so far!!! Absolutely over the moon

I’ve injected in the evening so far - in fact closer to bedtime. First one was absolutely fine I slept fine after and only noticed any side effects when I woke up. This week I did the same and did have a bit of a disturbed nights sleep but to be fair that’s not abnormal for me so doesn’t necessarily mean it was the drugs.

I took a picture out of curiosity yesterday to do a side by side - I can see a difference already I think, obviously it will just be bloating going down but still!

(Forgive my deeply mumsnet unfriendly bathroom bin and general mess haha! Our proper one broke and I’ve not replaced it yet)

Though the scales haven’t really shifted at all since my last injection Sunday which is a bit depressing, but I know I shouldn’t be checking every day. Im well below on calories so just got to trust it and will come. This is why I shouldn’t weight every day!
