Just started.

Would be great to hear from others who are just starting.

First injection was was 28th July. No side effects so far. Appetite is decreasing but not as much as I've seen on other threads.

4 stone at least to lose.

I'm going to use this thread to give myself an online record.

Morning!
I started MJ on Monday and so far no side effects and feel excited for the future. I have calorie counted and feel in control for the first time in so so long. I had a cheeky peek on the scales this morning and I have gained 1lb , anyone else experienced this ?

One of my sets of scales shows me as 5lbs down; the other shows me as maintaining.

It's only early days, it'll take a little time for it to show! I'm not concentrating on weight, just eating decently and staying healthy

Cleverchops · 14/08/2024 09:54

Morning everyone 😊
Feeling a bit deflated as only lost 1lb since Saturday after a 6lb loss but I am feeling a lot better in myself and not as bloated! Trying a protein shake thing for the first time. Also I feel less brain fog so that’s a win!

I'm reading these as an intrigued

I have contacted a few suppliers and price does seem to vary

Voy seem the most expensive after the first cheap month

Med express seems a good price

Think a few are with then from what I have read on this thread

I think that’s true about Voy. I’m with them for my first month - I had a referral code which made it in line with the others, if not cheaper as you don’t have to pay extra for needles and swabs as you do with the others, and it includes delivery. I also feel I benefited from the initial coaching call, they were really responsive when I had questions and I think they were a good one to get me started. They also don’t insist on telling your GP it that’s a concern for you; although I was happy for them to do so. I like their app too, the video instructions and all the various guides - it just felt really reassuring and informative for a newbie. I also am able to WhatsApp my coach or message one of the clinicians any time and they come back quickly which is good.

I think a lot of people either hope that they can refer someone else to get the following month cheaper (I’m still vaguely hoping that might happen as I’d like to stay with them a bit longer at least) or they pharmacy hop to get cheaper prices. Honestly I can only recommend them from my experience so far, but I definitely went into this thinking you’d have to stay with that prescriber when it seems that many people flit from one to the other to make the most of all the deals.

I think I’ve lost around half a stone total now, though scales obviously fluctuate daily so going to base it off what it says next jab day which is Sunday for me.

Feel good today - I was meant to be out for dinner later but my friend has cancelled and I feel somewhat relieved as I’m so tired in the evenings since I started this, plus DD woke us up at 5 which isn’t going to help. Weirdly I felt far better and clearer headed waking up at that time than I usually do though - possibly because I’m going to bed earlier due to the evening tiredness, or maybe brain fog is lifting a little?

poppym12 · 14/08/2024 10:35

I've got my initial call with someone from Voy tomorrow (first injection was on Sunday). I'm not great with phone calls so can anyone tell me what to expect tomorrow please?

Is it not a video call? Mike says video in the title

Wingingit11 · 14/08/2024 10:37

@Blondeshavemorefun I ordered through Asda initially and just re ordered - not quite as cheap as eg medexpress but unbelievably fast - I ordered on Monday night and was ready to collect trom
local Asda yesterday (can also get it posted), and you can also contact doctors for advice but much cheaper than voy. Lmk if you’d like a discount code

mm81736 · 14/08/2024 10:38

I am on day 5 now of first week do 2.5g and I can feel the effects waning a bit today.iam wondering if I should do the second dose a day early.

mm81736 · 14/08/2024 10:43

I have ordered numan and there is no prescription label on te box
Is this normal, I have read I will need this if I switch supplier?

Oh bugger, it is a video call. What's it about?

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 14/08/2024 10:56

@poppym12 no clue, I have mine tomorrow at 5! Quite looking forward to it as I still have a lot of thoughts about food (although not as intense as before) and would really like some reassurance that it's normal to not be totally turned off food!

Usernamechangeforthis12 · 14/08/2024 11:33

I’m on W2 day 3 but am feeling exhausted. Although this could be down to the little food I’ve eaten. Feeling bloated. We have family staying so have had a large evening meal and nothing else. (No one knows I’m doing this).

still better than this time last week when my body was rejecting everything!

AuntieDote · 14/08/2024 11:51

@poppym12 @NeedSomeAnswersPlease

my coach is called Sophie. The first was a video call but she arranged a follow up (I’m not sure if this is standard or she felt like I particularly needed it!) and I said I’d prefer it by phone which is how we did it in the end.

In fact on the first one I was having connection issues and she actually phoned me first then we switched to video - so they obviously have that capacity.

@poppym12 If you’re not sure about video call you could ask to move to phonecall? Follow up support is mostly via WhatsApp unless you request another call so you should be fine there!

Mine was just talking about my history/ approach to food etc, and my goals and my ‘why’ or motivation for doing this. I was really sceptical as I feel like there’s nothing you can’t tell me about how I should be eating, the various different approaches strategies etc etc - I’ve tried it all, heard it all, got the (XXL) t-shirt! But actually she had some good insights, I found it helpful overall. We also talked about setting a goal for the next week that was so small I was 100% confident I could achieve it ‘even on my worst day’. That even on my worst day thing has really stuck with me. I’m trying to just set little habits and goals not with me now in mind aka the me that is all fired up and enthusiastic about starting some new ‘miracle’ and planning to be a completely different person overnight - but the me who is a few months in and has maybe had a few setbacks, or work has been shit and DD isn’t sleeping and DH is doing my head in and there’s chocolate in the cupboard - what am I going to still be able to manage to do on those days?

She was less inclined to talk about the medication though - I found it a bit odd that we had this whole conversation almost as if the medication wasn’t going to be part of it, there was no talk about appetite suppression or side effects etc. To be fair I booked my coaching call and had it before I even injected because I was putting it off a bit, so maybe it would have been a different convo if I’d started already.

Yes I did, still 7lbs down in 11 days though so don't worry too much right now.

poppym12 · 14/08/2024 12:13

Thank you @AuntieDote, that's really helpful.

poppym12 · 14/08/2024 12:15

Mine's at 11 so I'll let you know @NeedSomeAnswersPlease Grin

Princessandthepie · 14/08/2024 12:17

Yucky stomach ache this morning. I'm out and about the food choices are limited so I've just had a greek salad as that was the healthiest choice in amongst the burgers, pizzas, hotdog stands, but feel like I'm going to regret that.

No movement on the scales this morning, a bit disappointing but still 7lbs down in 11 days.

My waist is 2 inches smaller too so don't forget about Non Scale Victories too, losing inches count too.

I used EMED. Haven’t seen anyone else that’s ordered from them though. First pen a good price, came quickly and they don’t make you take photos etc. They do a virtual call with you that they want to see actual weight on scales and then do the same every week xxx

Cosycover · 14/08/2024 08:26

I've been prescribed.

Oh God, I feel nervous now.

Going to stock up on some protein foods and supplements and start Friday morning.

Yay 😊. Good luck!

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/08/2024 12:49

Oh wow. Is that what people mean by when they say they do the photos

I thought they meant taking a pic of theirselves for progress /to look back on

So they want to see proof of what you weigh ?

Voy wanted a full length photo of me. It's to stop people lying about their weight to obtain one. It would be easy for everyone to say they were 30st to get them prescribed

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 14/08/2024 13:06

I was really concerned because I had started to feel hungry just before lunch - only ate half of my wrap!!!

I'm a little concerned that I'm not taking in enough calories, but also think that it's just my body getting used to it. I find it hard to accurately count the calories I've left behind from my lunch now, as I can't weight it all

SettingsOptions · 14/08/2024 13:23

Do they ask for photos between orders too? I’m not sure if I will switch providers for my next dose as it seems a bit of a faff to have to prove your previous prescription.

I’ll probably stick with medexpress for the next step up, as I don’t feel 2.5 has had much effect. It’s interesting though, because I look a lot better even though I’ve only lost 3kg

Torvi · 14/08/2024 14:22

Hi everyone, I'd like to join the thread as I took my first jab on Sunday night.
I was very skeptical that this wasn't going to work for me. Nothing ever seems to. I tried Saxenda and Ozempic before and got nowhere. I had awful nausea, the type that makes you want to eat crappy carbs Hmm.
So far MJ hasn't given me any side effects other than low appetite. I can't quite believe it. I usually drink way too much wine. Not getting drunk as such, but at a couple of large glasses a night. I've not been fussed about it and haven't had any. That said, it's still only day 3.
