Just started.

Would be great to hear from others who are just starting.

First injection was was 28th July. No side effects so far. Appetite is decreasing but not as much as I've seen on other threads.

4 stone at least to lose.

I'm going to use this thread to give myself an online record.

I'm also on the fence about the protein shakes etc, even the protein yoghurts, as it does seem all rather processed. Though I do like the aldi strawberry protein yoghurt, it's lovely with blueberries and pumpkin seeds.

I've made a huge mistake today in eating pizza and breaded chicken nuggets for dinner today. We normally do pizza movie night on Fridays and I've eaten fairly clean all week so thought I actually fancy a bit of pizza today.

Its just made me feel sick, bloated, very windy and would rather I'd had the chicken salad I was actually planning on having.

I don't think I over did it, I had a quarter of the pizza and weighed out 100g of chicken but I'm regretting it so it still came in less than 500 calories but so not worth it!

I really need to cut out the shit food it honestly does me no good even before the injections, I'd usually end up in a carb coma after pizza! Thank God I stayed off the wine!!

7 days dry now and 5lbs lighter 🎉🎉

So hopefully by the end of next week, I'll be below 15 stones 🤞🤞

However, I have injected tonight rather than tomorrow morning so I'm off to bed now with a peppermint tea!

Night✌️

Looks delicious but I doubt 20g protein unless you add protein powder ?

It's definitely 20g approx, 100g of Fage is 9g, the milk is around 6.5 and the almond butter around 3.5g. I'll make this actually. Oh the banana about 1g. X

Wingingit11 · 09/08/2024 21:28

@NippyCrab sorry just ran through and you’re right- about 22g protein depending on brand and 470 cals (ditto)

NippyCrab · 09/08/2024 23:12

I wouldn't have thought that either, cals are high though for me but a good booster xx

I'm itching to get started but royal mail are useless. My order was supposed to be delivered yesterday - the tracker says they tried but no one was in. I never left the house and no one tried to deliver anything. Scheduled for delivery today and it's still not arrived. Getting annoyed. Is the injection still ok when it's been in the delivery system for days?

The same happened to my delivery last weekend, scheduled for Saturday but not delivered until Monday. It's fine and it was still cold when I opened it Monday afternoon. Good luck.

AuntieDote · 10/08/2024 08:32

Terrible nights sleep last night and wide awake from 5am - not sure I can blame the mounjaro as I’ve slept absolutely fine since I first injected last Sunday (better even?) - maybe it’s wearing off ? Feel starving as well so I guess so.

Debating injecting today instead of tomorrow, but I have to take DC to a soft play party tomorrow and the thought of that compared to how horrendous I felt the day after the first jab is giving me pause on that!

Princessandthepie · 10/08/2024 08:43

Woken up feeling fine this morning!

No movement on the scales though 😕 stayed at 15st 3lbs for 3 days now.

Oh well, I'm still 5lbs down for the week so that's a major positive. Definitely time to introduce some exercise in to my routine this week.

WorriedRelative · 10/08/2024 10:19

I think I ate too much last night, or the wrong thing. It was less than a usual portion but I got terrible heartburn that woke me up.

I am finding that although it is easier to avoid eating and when I do eat I feel full on less, often uncomfortably full, the full feeling is a bit delayed. So I feel fine while eating then feel over stuffed an hour later. Hopefully I will get to know how much a portion is soon!

I still felt full when I got up and this was reflected with a half kilo regain compared to yesterday.

AuntieDote · 10/08/2024 10:20

Sorry for prattling on! Just to say that I made the protein shake that I posted on the last page just now. I also added a serving of my collagen powder which really bumped up the protein (although takes away from the point of it being natural I guess!)

Used skimmed milk as that’s what I had in. My tracker still brings it to about 30g protein.

Wasnt my favourite thing I’ve ever tasted but drinkable.

Weighed this morning and another pound off. I know this is not sustainable it’s not going to keep coming off at this rate but I’m so so happy with how it’s going so far.

trulybee · 10/08/2024 10:29

Week 2 Day 2
Felt really tired yesteday after injecting. Slept ok but woke earlier than would have lived. Interesting to see if today follows the same pattern as last Saturday.
Sorry for TMI but last saturday ended up with nausea and diarrhoea so if it doesn't follow that pattern - that is progress in my book and hopefully means my body is adjusting.
Noticed on my fitbit thatmy resting elevates after injecting and goes up a beatper minute for the first three days before dropping back down again.
Still not weighed myself but can tell I have lost a few pounds just by how by clothes feel.
Well done to everyone who has lost so far.

Addictedtobeauty · 10/08/2024 10:30

Jab 2 completed and week 1 results are in! I’ve lost 5lb! I’m delighted.

SW: 209 lb
Wk 1: -5lb
CW: 204lb

Wingingit11 · 10/08/2024 11:07

I injected this morning and obviously didn’t pull
the needle out as it nicked my skin and a bit of liquid came out 🫠

CremeDeSudo · 10/08/2024 11:39

@trtrulybee that's interesting re heart rate. I'll pay attention to mine when I do it on Wed. I might have a look on the app now and see what it says.

MissFancyDay · 10/08/2024 14:16

@Princessandthepie @Addictedtobeauty well done on your losses, really encouraging.

It's the day after my first jab and I'm feeling good, I've got a slightly hungover feeling and very mild headache so fingers crossed it won't get any worse.

I have no interest in food at the moment so for today I'm just going to forget about food and enjoy the freedom.

Annwithout · 10/08/2024 14:52

Third jab yesterday and no effects at all so far, is it just me? Had Wegovy before and pretty sure that started working straight away 🤔. Starting to panic a bit...

JoyousSwan · 10/08/2024 15:26

Day 4 for me after my first jab still getting really bad indigestion. Still thinking about food quite a bit but more of 'I don't fancy that' than 'what can I eat now!' It's quite strange for me!

WorriedRelative · 10/08/2024 15:33

I think I am going to need to be really careful about portions and eating slowly, as I don't seem to notice when I am getting full.

Went to a cafe at lunchtime and having had no breakfast had a sausage roll. I know not the best but there wasn't much choice.

I am once again uncomfortably full, bloated and belchy. Although felt OK when eating and immediately afterwards.

AuntieDote · 10/08/2024 18:11

So today is the first day I’ve met what my tracker says should be my protein goal, and more like 1200 calories which feels more realistic for life after MJ.

However, it’s been a bloody slog to fulfil this and has made me eat when I’m not particularly hungry and eat past my fill at each meal really. That feels really counter intuitive when I want to learn more about eating intuitively, stopping when full etc. I had the homemade protein shake with added collagen, as a result couldn’t face the idea of food at all until about 3 when I forced some tuna and cucumber/ tomatoes down. As a result wasn’t especially hungry at dinner (we eat early as like to eat with DD and a bit as a hangover from my intermittent fasting days!) - managed some Spanish (200 g) omelette, some garlic prawns (about 6) and salad but that only brought me to around 800 calories and still short on protein so made myself eat some Greek yoghurt with nut butter.

It’s felt like a lot of ‘food noise‘ worrying about this today, so I’m not sure if tracking to this level is all that helpful actually if it’s leading to me thinking so much about it all, and making me uncomfortably full. But I do still want to be careful about eating enough and getting the protein as I’m a bit scared of this aging me even more than I already feel is happening (45 soon and my face has really started to show it this year!)

AnneElliott · 10/08/2024 19:09

I've just started today. Hoping not to have too many side effects.

CremeDeSudo · 10/08/2024 19:10

@auntiedote this is what I was like pre MJ - constantly worrying about hitting protein targets within my calorie allowance. It's exactly what I'm trying to avoid, so I'm not counting cals, just aiming to prioritise protein, eating when my body tells me I should. I imagine I will further down the line, but for now I'm just enjoying not thinking about it!

I am the same with the delayed uncomfortably full feeling. It takes about 20 mins after eating.
Still having decent portions of food but making healthy choices.
What I am finding is that I don't really want to snack between meals.
But the overall effects are wearing off.
The first 2 days after injecting there was noticeable appetite suppression and that slight sicky feeling. Which has gone now. I just feel more bloated.
It is early days as only the 1st week. Next jab is Tuesday.
I can't see myself being one of these that sticks to 2.5 past 4 weeks.

OlympicsFanGirl · 10/08/2024 19:55

I'm finding this too.

I've just had my 3rd injection. But the last 2 days my appetite was completely normal and I was back to eating far too much food.

Took my injection this morning and appetite decreased by the afternoon.

Week 1 lost 3lbs
Week 2 zero loss

I don't feel much is going to happen for me till my dose increases.

I'm on day 6 today after injecting on Monday. Appetite has been pretty much zero all week. (Except appetite for wine ☹️) I have lost 5lbs which I'm happy with.
Side effects have been minimal, headaches mainly.
Tonight I have eaten my first full meal of the week so I'm thinking it's wearing off a bit now and looking forward to my next jab on Monday.
