Just started.

Would be great to hear from others who are just starting.

First injection was was 28th July. No side effects so far. Appetite is decreasing but not as much as I've seen on other threads.

4 stone at least to lose.

I'm going to use this thread to give myself an online record.

I feel a bit weird now, but I think it's just the initial 'oh shit, there's no backing out now..'

WitchDancer · 07/08/2024 10:20

Day 2 and I slept ok. I still had food noises yesterday and some this morning too. I'm not massively hungry though, more thirsty than anything, so we'll see how the day goes. I'm bracing myself to weigh in though - I know roughly what I am but need to get an accurate reading.

WitchDancer · 07/08/2024 11:00

Well that was a shock - I'm 2.5 stone heavier than I thought. Really not good 😢

Usernamechangeforthis12 · 07/08/2024 11:01

Day 3 - after a rubbish nights sleep, I’m feeling very tired, and my stomach is gurgling and feeling delicate. Couldn’t finish my coffeee and have only managed to sip some water so far.

trulybee · 07/08/2024 11:11

@WitchDancer condolences- we've all been there. How much do you have to lose?

This morning's revaluation means I have 7 stone 6 lb to loose. Onwards and downwards!

Just wondering if there's a thread for newbies to do FAQs? Instead of clogging up this thread x

Potterson13 · 07/08/2024 11:21

For those of us struggling with sleep, I've been reading that magnesium helps so I'm nipping out on my lunch break and going to grab some from Holland and Barrett. I can't function on no sleep!

If you look for the "continuing Mounjaro thread", I believe there's quite a few of them, they all start with a bit of a breakdown of useful information. Although feel free to ask here, we're all newbies really!

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 07/08/2024 11:25

@Potterson13 they're mainly practical questions! Where to inject (seen a lot online saying stomach is best for suppression but worst for side effects?), can you take Imodium if you get an upset stomach? Protein ive seen is key but can you carry on eating things like yoghurt and fruit?

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 07/08/2024 11:26

Oh and supplements! I already take spatone, vitamin d & a vitamin b complex everyday, do I need more?

SettingsOptions · 07/08/2024 11:34

@NeedSomeAnswersPlease the thread is called “mounjaro August newbie”, it seems like the right place for said newbies to ask practical questions. You referring to that as “clogging up the thread” isn’t welcoming. Frankly, you’ve posted a lot on here which could be considered clogging up the thread, but it’s the posts you think shouldn’t be here that are actually more interesting to read. I hope people continue asking questions and discussing and aren’t put off by you.

Sorry, shant post again

Seasonofthesticks · 07/08/2024 11:44

Placemarki g as I’m considering starting this in September (paying for). My BMI is 27.2, I’d like to lose 2 stone.

Wingingit11 · 07/08/2024 11:57

@NeedSomeAnswersPlease it seems to me that this thread is very much for supporting each other as we go!
I’ve done thigh as read less side effects than stomach due to absorption rate but not sure if there’s truth in that. Think you can take immodium
etc as needed but always best to check with pharmacist if any concerns.
my understanding is protein is implement to try to retain muscle mass during loss
hope this helps!

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 07/08/2024 11:58

Just to say, before I hide this thread and lose it to the lost threads, I didn't mean to upset anyone by saying that or posting too much - I'm just excited having seemingly found something that could be an answer to the weight issues I've had since age 8. I truly didn't mean to upset anyone and congrats to everyone on their weight loss

Addictedtobeauty · 07/08/2024 12:00

@NeedSomeAnswersPlease don’t stop posting, I like the chatter, I like the questions, none of it is clogging, it’s all useful to someone. I like the camaraderie from people who get it- I can’t discuss this on my real life (actually just don’t want to). It’s something I am doing purely for me,

Wingingit11 · 07/08/2024 12:01

I wonder if @SettingsOptions thought you meant people shouldn’t post questions here. Which of course they are welcome to do

Not what I meant at all, I just meant me personally as I have a lot of questions and thoughts going on in my mind!

Wingingit11 · 07/08/2024 12:04

That was how I read it don’t worry. So all is cool and let’s keep chatting @NeedSomeAnswersPlease 😁

Princessandthepie · 07/08/2024 12:06

@SettingsOptions your post came across a bit rude towards @NeedSomeAnswersPlease since we're all in the same boat, we should all be supporting each other here.

There's lots of threads to read but it can be very overwhelming to read all those. It's almost like the "food noise".

CremeDeSudo · 07/08/2024 12:07

That's how I read it too!

No question is too basic for a newbie thread, I have a thousand things going round in my head that I would be slightly wary of asking in the "continuing Mounjaro" threads. This is just the place for them, and observations of how we are all feeling. Please keep posting 🙂

Princessandthepie · 07/08/2024 12:09

Anyhoo,

Day 5, 4lbs down.

I ate more yesterday, only about 900 calories but it was sufficient.

My family had fish and chips last night which I refused to have on the basis that I actually don't like it, I feel awful afterwards and as they don't know about my injections, I didn't want to have the awful side effects! So I cooked some salmon and had that with salad! Much nicer, no bloat, no yuck feeling and I didn't crap my pants! Yay!

TtheC · 07/08/2024 12:25

I have an interesting contribution to the thread.

I ended up having several glasses of wine last night (hadn't intended to drink much on MJ at all), and weirdly not only am l less hungover than usual, but I'm not even hungry.

Usually after too much wine I'd be ravenous for carbs and would get a subway/macdonalds, but I don't even want to eat. Very interesting! So the MJ completely obliterates even hangover hunger.
