Just started.

Would be great to hear from others who are just starting.

First injection was was 28th July. No side effects so far. Appetite is decreasing but not as much as I've seen on other threads.

4 stone at least to lose.

I'm going to use this thread to give myself an online record.

Don't tell me that! 🤣🤣

I have an interesting contribution to the thread.

I ended up having several glasses of wine last night (hadn't intended to drink much on MJ at all), and weirdly not only am l less hungover than usual, but I'm not even hungry.

Usually after too much wine I'd be ravenous for carbs and would get a subway/macdonalds, but I don't even want to eat. Very interesting! So the MJ completely obliterates even hangover hunger.

Day 6 for me.
Found that I eat around 1100 calories at the beginning of the week and more like 1400 as the week goes on. Hungry for meals now, not snacking but definitely food noise has returned but not as bad as normally. Looking forward to injection 2 on Friday to feel appetite suppression again

TtheC · 07/08/2024 12:32

Mind you, other people have said they felt horrible after even 1 glass! So I might be an anomaly.

I probably had 4 large glasses of picpoul, feel fine today and not hungry. I made 2 pieces of toast and ended up binning 1.

Usually I'd be starving.

pateandbrie · 07/08/2024 12:38

@TtheC same! No hangovers. My wine consumption has not reduced... I am going to work on that, I hoped I'd be one of those people that just went right off it but that doesn't seem to have happened!

MissFancyDay · 07/08/2024 12:39

I'm starting Friday. Learning and getting used to, binning food is hopefully going to be one of the big things for me. I'm very much of the born after the war generation that were told to clear their plates after every meal. I just plow on even if I am full. I am hoping it will be impossible to do that and that I slowly unlearn this behaviour.

Are you still on a low dose? I am hoping to go off alcohol as well.

Princessandthepie · 07/08/2024 12:46

But I don't want to drink, I've been wanting to cut back for ages so now I have a rather expensive reason to not crack open a bottle of wine.

I've not drank since Friday and happy to keep going without

Princessandthepie · 07/08/2024 13:01

Have to say though, I think the injection did cut out the wine noise for me too.

Although I've wanted to cut back for ages, I'll do a day or two, then cave in as the chat in my head is "oh well the bottle is open, it won't keep" or "it's dinner time, time for a glass"!

This is the first time in ages that I've not had the internal monologues of food and wine in my head, and to be honest, I'm quite relieved!

It's still a bit noisy in there with other things, but certainly not as bad as it was, it's nice.

Wingingit11 · 07/08/2024 12:01

I wonder if @SettingsOptions thought you meant people shouldn’t post questions here. Which of course they are welcome to do

This is definitely how I read their posts! Didn’t find them welcoming at all

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 07/08/2024 13:19

And @SettingsOptions I have explained myself and apologised so there's no need to drag it out

Wingingit11 · 07/08/2024 13:22

I used to love Pepsi and it all of a sudden switched off!

I'm the same. I really what to curb alcohol. I'm doing dry August and hoping to stretch until end of September when it's my birthday I am partial to wine at home a couple of evenings a week. I really want to limit at home drinking unless for a special occasion.

Mounjarome · 07/08/2024 13:31

Hi everyone
I’m had one first injection 2.5mg on Saturday.
unfortunately I have had quite bad side effects. Started to get muscle aches in hips and back after 48 hours felt like I was getting flu and same feeling I had after Covid injection. I read on Reddit it could be my body having an immune response to the drug and that it is quite common loads of post of Reddit about it but haven’t seen many on here. It isn’t severe pain at all just achy and annoying like I have knots in my muscles.
the worst side effect and paradoxically the actual reason I’m taking the medicine! Is the appetite suppression now for me it isn’t just suppression I do not want food at all and food doesn’t taste nice anymore I take so long to force down a bit of food it is horrible. I had 700 calories yesterday. If I try to force more I feel sick.
has anyone else had it this bad? When will this wear off? At this rate I won’t be taking my second injection as I feel awful and didn’t realise I wouldn’t be able to eat thought it would just reduce my appetite.

Redlightbulb · 07/08/2024 13:33

Took my 1st injection yesterday late afternoon.
Was easy. Didn't feel it go in.

Might be imagining it, but today I have a mild sicky feeling and a taste at the back of my mouth.
I could still eat, but am not craving bad stuff.
If you put a chocolate bar in front of me.. I wouldn't be in a rush to eat it.

troppibambini6 · 07/08/2024 13:35

I'm currently on holiday in Spain for two weeks. I've bought my pen and still jabbing. I'm not snacking, avoiding the bread, avoiding the ice cream and trying to make the best choices regarding food but still trying to enjoy the holiday.
I'm still drinking although it as much.

Addictedtobeauty · 07/08/2024 13:44

@Princessandthepie excellent way to offset the cost too- I am a wine snob so if I don’t have a bottle a week (my normal consumption), I’ll save about £80. I had a couple of glasses with no ill effects on Saturday and Sunday (jabbed on Saturday) but have consciously decided to abstain, at least at home. I’m going to a bbq on Saturday , so may have a glass or two if the mood takes me and I don’t feel too nauseous from jab 2.

Sorry to hear this @Mounjarome . I’m fortunate that I have had nothing like this at all- still exercising, still enjoying food when it’s time to eat perhaps even more than usual because I’m consciously eating healthy food rather than mindlessly inhaling crap. I hope your ill effects subside and you are able to experience this positive result and continue on your weight loss path.

CremeDeSudo · 07/08/2024 14:01

@mounjarome were you eating a lot of carbs before? Look into carb flu. I had this when I did Cambridge Diet the first time, and I felt SO ILL! Could it be that?

Mounjarome · 07/08/2024 14:11

Thank you @Addictedtobeauty i hope these effect wear off soon!
@CremeDeSudo yes my diet was very carb heavy! I wonder if that could be a reason for this! I’ll read up on it thanks

pateandbrie · 07/08/2024 14:15

@MissFancyDay yes I'm only one week in so still on 2.5 - maybe I'll ditch the wine when I go up to 5!

Princessandthepie · 07/08/2024 14:39

Addictedtobeauty · 07/08/2024 13:44

I'm not even a wine snob, and I'll be saving about the same! I can easily do 2 bottles over the course of an evening and it not even touch the sides!

But the way I see it is, I told myself ages ago that's it, I'm not spending anymore money on weight loss crap, I know what I should do, I'm just too bloody lazy to do it! I've paid for this, that and the other over the years and it's come to nothing!! So why bother wasting more money on fat loss injections??

Now I understand, the food and wine noise!!!

"If I eat this, how many calories, if I go out for dinner, I'll eat too much, people will judge me, look how much she's eating, no wonder she's fat, I want that donut I know is the cupboard, yada, yada, yada!!"

Since Saturday, all that noise has just gone!! It's the weirdest thing ever but worth every penny, I really hope this works so I need to help myself and cut out the wine too which is what I've snuck back in before, and look, I'm still fat! Time for a change!!

Addictedtobeauty · 07/08/2024 14:56

@Princessandthepie your motivation is screaming from the page- it’s brilliant. We’ve got this (with a helping hand!).

I started on 30th July. Hoping to lose 2st. So far I've had no side effects and my appetite has decreased but not disappeared which is fine. I'm happy so far, as I'm hoping I'll be at least 1st down by Christmas.

I’ve just ordered mine. I have 2 stone to lose too.

Princessandthepie · 07/08/2024 15:17
