@Newme24 wow! That's great to hear. I’m on holiday at the moment and trying not to worry too much about the scales on my return😂

Can I ask how you are finding the 7.5 please? I’m on my 7th dose of 5mg and uncertain what to do next - stick or go for 7.5 🤷‍♀️ Have got 3 more plus bonus in this pen so have got some wriggle room!

I am definitely hungrier this week and have been unable to resist the chips that come with meals (ok, I can ignore the skinny ones but not the big crispy ones! 😩) whereas last week I had no interest. Thoughts of a magnum have also snuck into my mind😂

I will say that I have been on a 5 day course of steroids and antibiotics for a chest infection so that may have made the MJ less effective.

I am also wondering if it's worth taking a little more from the pen I have.

I seem to have replaced obsessive thoughts about food with obsessive thoughts about MJ! 😂🤦‍♀️😂

wickerpram · 02/09/2024 07:07

@Newme24 I could have written a very similar post. The summer holidays have been hard. We've been at my in laws where all my meals were made for me which is obviously lovely but huge portions. Lots of booze and generally not being as careful. However, I've tried to not go crazy and I've only put on a small amount of weight. Back to it today.
I'm on 7.5 too.
I haven't lost huge amount in comparison to other people - just over a stone but I feel great. I don't mind doing it slowly.

WheresSummer99 · 01/09/2024 09:22

Just ordered a new running top from Amazon and it kept saying based on your data we think you need a XXL size and I put a L in my basket but actually hovered over the M size.. slightly annoying I bought a new run top in June but it’s just huge and baggy now so I’m treating myself.

Anyone else’s boobs just deflating? Mine were G-H cup before and the smallest they even been is a F cup but they are shrinking fast. I’m early 50s so not bothered it’s just odd. Prior to MJ I was considering a boob reduction as they were impacting me but this has been cheaper!

Yes! I've always had huge boobs, no matter what my weight. I'm still heavier than I've been at some periods in my life and yet my boobs are drastically shrinking. Haven't plucked up the courage to go bra shopping yet but they're now on their tightest and still gaping on the cups.

Newme24 · 02/09/2024 07:55

@IReallyNeedThisToWork I'll be honest with you the first 2 weeks of 7.5 didn't feel like it did much to be honest. I think I was expecting more as so many people online were like wow the 7.5 hits you hard and kicking butt today. However I was still feeling like I could eat quite a bit however... I need to remind myself this is a good thing. It's giving me the opportunity to make the right choices when I'm hungry. If I'm feeling like I need to eat my go to is protein. Some chicken or beef, egg or cheese. And it really tides me over. Usually I'd be on the crisps or chocolate and I'm desperate to keep protein up so it helps my muscles when I'm working out. Jab 3 definitely hit the best. That was last week and I have found myself not thinking about food nowhere near as much. I do wonder though if it's also because I was so manic busy the two weeks previous that I was eating through any suppression I had.

I'm taking my 4th dose this morning so I will come back to you in a couple of days. Hoping this week is another good week and I can do another month on 7.5. I heard people say if you're losing. Even slowly then you don't need to go up. I wish I stayed on 5mg more than a month if I'm honest so I'm not rushing the 7.5. In my head I'm thinking I could possibly do the 7.5 until November and maybe if not losing change to 10 ready for a month push before Christmas. Xx

Newme24 · 02/09/2024 08:00

@wickerpram slow and steady really works. A loss is a loss. I'm happy these days if I lose 1lb because I know it's all adding to the bigger picture. I used to think I had to lose 3/4lb plus a week but it's not the case. Well done for being conscious of what you've been eating. That's already the start of your life changing isn't it. Just being in control and being able to say actually I'll have x instead of y.

Glad to hear I'm not alone in the kids being off school making everything more difficult. Mine are back weds and by next Monday we will all well and truly be in the routine ready for the push to October half term. Well done on your weight loss so far! I don't know about anyone else but I'm so much more positive on this medication. X

Callmejudith · 02/09/2024 08:16

urgh overdid the wine yesterday and feel shocking today.

My kids are back to school on Wednesday and I cannot wait! DS11 is starting secondary which I am super nervous about but it will also mean a new routine that I can’t wait to get stuck into.

SarahB88 · 02/09/2024 09:19

Lost 2kg this week which I’m pleased with after not losing anything last week.

SW 106.5kg
CW 95.2kg

I’m doing my last jab next week, ideally I’d like to finish up on 93kg as that would pretty much be a 2 stone loss in 3 months and would take me back to the weight I was when I met my partner. It also feels achievable given my small losses each week. Only stopping to get pregnant again and I wouldn’t have a hesitation in starting up with the jabs again after baby 2 arrives as it’s been such a huge help.

TheShellBeach · 02/09/2024 10:16

I've lost 4lb this week.

My starting weight in Jan was 20st 2lb.

I'm now 15st 8lb.

Total loss is 4st 8lb.

Callmejudith · 02/09/2024 10:56

@SarahB88 and @TheShellBeach bloody brilliant!

OP posts:
TheShellBeach · 02/09/2024 14:09

Thanks @Callmejudith

DH says he can really see it now.
He has never once said anything negative to me about being fat. He can see I'm happier, getting thinner though.

WheresSummer99 · 02/09/2024 14:48

That’s brilliant @TheShellBeach amazing loss.

I reached a Second big milestone today for me with 2 stone off in 11weeks I’m amazed how easy it’s been, last time I lost 2 stone it took me 6 long months of feeling very hungry this has been life changing. Next goal is another stone then move onto maintenance phase as that will take me to bmi 25.and I’ve never been lighter in my entire adult life.

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 02/09/2024 20:29

Should the next thread be baggy bra brigade?

Another one here looking forward to getting back into the routine, summer holidays have been fun but not great whilst I'm trying to bed in new habits.

Weighed this morning (official weigh in day is Thursday), it began with a 14 which, if this sticks in a few days would be the lightest I have been since...well....forever. I genuinely have never owned proper adult clothes in less than a size 16, so if (no, when) I get there, this will be whole new territory for me.

@Newme24 well done. @IReallyNeedThisToWork 7.5 was hard the first couple of weeks but just starting my second pen and it's working a treat for me.

@SarahB88 that's brilliant!

@TheShellBeach also brilliant! You have lost the equivalent weight of my DD8!

@WheresSummer99 that's fab, congrats. Those big milestones are so rewarding.

Callmejudith · 03/09/2024 10:31

Smashing it team!

Huge NSV for me today - I bought some trousers from zara about 3 years ago because I loved the colour. I have never ever managed to wear them. Today I am wearing them, to work, with a belt that I couldn't even get around my waist at the beginning of the year which is now on the 4th hole!

OP posts:
TheShellBeach · 03/09/2024 12:27

Yay @Callmejudith that's a real victory.

I don't know about baggy bras. It's my bank account which isn't coping, buying new ones all the time.

I don't mind buying second hand clothes on Ebay as I get smaller and smaller, but I won't buy second hand underwear.
Grin

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 03/09/2024 13:05

@Callmejudith oohhhh, Zara!

One day...

Callmejudith · 03/09/2024 14:34

Oh and use 100% to baggy bras - my cups are no longer runneth over

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 03/09/2024 15:14

I reckon baggy bikini tops! 😂

JomonotFomo · 03/09/2024 21:11

Today I got on the scales with my 3yr old and I wasn’t as heavy as my start weight but bloody hell did she feel heavy to hold!! No wonder I feel less achy!

TheShellBeach · 03/09/2024 23:02

I've lost the equivalent weight of nine new born babies.

🤣

mcdle · 04/09/2024 07:11

This week I've gone down 3lbs and put 4back on so weigh in day is +1lb 👎

Snozzlemaid · 04/09/2024 08:15

Another 2lbs off for me this week.
SW 18st 6lbs
CW 15st 10lbs

Very excited to be in touching distance of a 3 stone loss.

Taking my bonus dose from my last 5mg pen today so hoping to get a little bit more as a step up to 7.5.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 04/09/2024 09:03

@Snozzlemaid fab to be so close!

I can't decide if the forgotten scales are a good thing or a bad thing for me! It's quite liberating to be free of my daily weighing habit whilst also terrifying to just not know 🤷‍♀️

I will say that some of my bikini bottoms seem baggier but I really don't believe there's any way I've actually LOST any weight with the carbs and alcohol😬🤦‍♀️

Still procrastinating about my next pen. Delivery is due next Tuesday and reckon Voy will up to 7.5 unless I say not to but still have 2 + bonus left in this 5 so seems too early to decide.

Would I be mad to cancel the subscription before I am approved by somewhere else?

VioletsHeart · 04/09/2024 10:57

My mum is coming to stay this weekend. She is thin. And considers being overweight a moral failing. (She has previously asked me if she did anything wrong in my childhood to cause me to be fat - no mum it’s me).

Recently she was talking about a friend who because of health issues has been prescribed “The Injections” on the NHS to help with medically needed weight loss. I could hear the capitalisation and quote marks over the phone. Along with all of the judgement.

I said that I thought it was good - absolutely the right call that they would be getting the best help. And we briefly discussed the recent positive press.

You will be unsurprised to hear that she does not know I’m on MJ.

I’m not sure I’ll ever be ready to have a conversation with her about it.

I’m off to hide my pen.

Also, ps, I know it’s ovulation but I’ve been up and down the same 1.5lb for the last week and it’s doing my head in!

achangeofnameisasgoodasarest · 04/09/2024 11:02

Anyone see Allison Pearson in the Telegraph on Mounjaro this am? She's behind a paywall sadly, but quite positive about the whole thing.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/09/04/mounjaro-weight-loss-jab-changed-my-life/

I am reaching the three month mark with just ABOUT two stone lost, and another two stone to go. Feels significant as I also have to go and drop daughter back at her very chi chi school with all the posh parents tomorrow (we are not posh - she is on a massive scholarship/bursary/govt thingy) and feeling slightly less intimidated by the whole thing as I am thinner.

Which is ridiculous, but there you go.

My miracle weight-loss jab has changed my life and will change the world

A recent health scare was the final push I needed to banish shame and embrace a drug that might allow me to meet my grandchildren
