Whoop whoop @CoastalCalm ! Amazing loss! Well done you 😁

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 21/07/2024 10:45

@Callmejudith so so difficult isn't it?!? I started this weight loss journey on 20/5 alongside one of my closest friends as an effort to lower my blood pressure. She reckoned just losing a stone would have an effect.

After 2.5 weeks of the fast800, I had lost 9lbs and then stalled, losing the same lb and then gaining it and was so close to just chucking it in when I started reading about mounjaro and how effective it is. I read many of the 'main threads' (about 6 I think!) and decided to give it a try as a bit of a last ditch attempt tbh.

I have now lost 2 stone since 20/5 and my friend 13.5lbs. She has now revised her target from a stone to 24lbs off. She is much smaller than me!

I can't tell you how close I come to telling her every bloody week! I've mentioned reading about it and she sort of said she didn't think she would take it. I keep talking about how my mindset has changed and then realise it is down to MJ not me and clam up again. It feels like there is a HERD of bloody elephants in the room every time we speak 😩

She's already been on this morning asking what snacks we are taking tonight...😬

I’ve started adding creatine in to my protein shake each day and I have to say I notice a big difference in my energy levels. It could just be my energy evening out and coincidence but creatine is meant to improve energy and recovery post exercise so I do think it’s doing something. Just in case anyone wanted to give it a go!

TheShellBeach · 21/07/2024 11:29

First day on 5mg.

We're going on holiday next Saturday. I've ordered a Tesco delivery to the cottage for the day we arrive.

I've done my best not to have a 2 litre tub of Mackies in there. I keep putting it in my basket, then deleting it.
😂

Callmejudith · 21/07/2024 12:08

@IReallyNeedThisToWork i think if I saw her more often I’d have to confess but I know she’ll tell another mutual friend and then it’ll all come out. I don’t know why I’m so concerned about people knowing but I am!

Gym this morning was on an empty stomach as I overslept and I felt quite weak. Had to have a banana as soon as I came out.

@SarahB88 I’ve had a pouch of creatine in my cupboard for months. Might start adding it to my shake. I’m also worried about hair loss so have ordered some glowwa which is supposed to be amazing

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 21/07/2024 12:20

@Callmejudith I hear you! I feel really uncomfortable about anybody knowing as I feel they will judge me. I've always behaved as if my weight doesn't bother me and think people will view me very differently knowing how unhappy I have been for most of my life🤦‍♀️ I am also very loud about people not being judged on their size (colour/religion/gender etc etc ) and fear people thinking it's all been bollocks as I will do this to be slimmer.

Weird things our brains aren't they?!? 😩

I always have electrolytes first thing before I walk the dogs (we go a fair way!) but agree I would probably need to eat something before hitting the gym. Joining a gym again is on my list somewhere 😂

coffeeandteav · 21/07/2024 12:27

I order through Asda and I am finding it a right chew on.
I understand why they do it but having to send 2 photos with the date when I have done this before only 8 weeks ago. I had a BMI of 33. I am not underweight in 8 weeks.
I have to wait a few days now as I do not have my scales.
It is a minor inconvenience I know but I am finding it a proper chew on.

Happycyclist · 21/07/2024 13:07

@Callmejudith @IReallyNeedThisToWork Eventually I do get to the point if you can bear with me...

For many years I hated electric bikes and those that rode them ..They were cheating and I wasn't, when I cycled somewhere I got there through my own efforts, my own sweat etc.

Then a good friend had a health problem and couldn't cycle with me/us. I was a shame he was a nice bloke and added to the fun of the day... so he ended up getting an electric bike and joined us again. He actually still had to put in effort (not as much as me but for him it was an effort It was great and it made me see electric bikes as enabling tools. They allowed some people to do something that they wouldn't do otherwise.

I am now a fan of electric bikes as long as the person riding them appreciates that showing off how fast they can go up a steep faster than me isn't clever. Some of the folks I ride with don't share my opinion and still hate them but I like to see them in a more accepting way (other than stupid pricks going up hills whilst grinning at me).

I see Mounjaro in the same way.. It enables me to achieve something that I have tried before... Ohh so many times.
This time I will succeed. What I will not do is show off to others how clever I am.
I also will not tell ANYONE because I know there will be a load of naysayers out there that will not appreciate my efforts and will try to bring me down. When people ask how I am achieving my loss (only 1 person has asked so far) I introduce them to the protein shakes and explain they are a bit like Slimfast Shakes (the one I told promptly put them down and told me it was a rubbish way to lose weight).

Callmejudith · 21/07/2024 13:09

Wow the e-bike is such a good analogy I totally totally get it!!

Happycyclist · 21/07/2024 13:13

I have been thinking about it for a while..

Panick · 21/07/2024 13:18

Anyone had issues with blood pressure? I have been feeling quite light headed the last few days, today especially. When I stand up I get quite dizzy and have to bend forward to relieve it. I just did my BP and it was 105/60 sat down, and 94/60 when I stood up so is quite low! I am feeling a bit crap and woo-woo to be honest. I'm due another injection Tuesday but not sure this is a good idea, probably I should wait and see if my BP settles.. I guess I should pass this by the GP too?? Anyone had a similar problem?

Ugh - I didn't realise that I would need to do that again! Presume this is to order your third pen then (I'm ASDA too...thanks for the heads up!). I'm just about to put in another order...and really don't want it delayed as I'm going on holiday on Friday! Think I will upload these photos before they ask.

Tirzepatide · 21/07/2024 14:03

Just ordered. I'll wait to see if they ask for photos as my starting BMI was 41, so even more unlikely 8 weeks would take me down to anything even close to a healthy weight! Time will tell whether it is an automatic every third time thing or related to BMI.

CosyNan · 21/07/2024 14:21

Only lost 1lb this week ,bit disappointed but overall 10lb in 4 weeks is pretty good considering I'm on steroids for an auto immune disease . Been on them for 18 months and put on over 2 stone ! Tapering down and hopefully be off them very soon then hopefully be easier to lose a bit more weight 🙏

JessicaPeach · 21/07/2024 14:41

I haven't had to do it with my 2nd zava order, I've ordered a 5 and a 7.5 together as had a discount code and don't think I'll get anyone else using my code before I needed to move up

Tirzepatide · 21/07/2024 16:41

Wow - Asda doctors are really on it - my order got approved within two hours (asked for another 5 mg rather than going up a dose), and no need for more photos so I guess it the lower BMI that triggered the request for more photos @coffeeandteav . Although I guess you are ordering your 4th lot not 3rd not thinking about it more...

Tirzepatide · 21/07/2024 16:46

Similar to you @CosyNan - just 0.7 lbs for me this week and 10.6 lbs, put in 5 weeks not 4. However, I check the day after official WI day and I was down another 0.8 lbs. That's why I daily weigh and have my Sat weight as the official one! I'm quite pleased with the rate loss considering I'm early fifties and due to plantar fasciitis in my right foot I'm not getting much activity in at the moment.

CoastalCalm · 21/07/2024 16:53

Just had ZAVA delivery and pen not chilled at all so unusable - has anyone had similar ? Hopefully they will send another out - ice packs completely melted

achangeofnameisasgoodasarest · 21/07/2024 16:58

oh no - I was so lucky today - Zava delivery arrived at 8am icy cold, dispatched last night - it seems like such a lottery.

Also had mine delivered from Zava today. Ice pack not only melted bit actually room temperature so not even cold. The pen is in the fridge now but not sure if it is safe to use.

Oh that’s not good! Will they send a replacement?

I had the same with Zava this week. I’ve asked for a refund and said I’ll send the pen back but no response yet. First and last time I’ll use Zava.

JessicaPeach · 21/07/2024 21:46

I would have thought they'll reply and ask when you are due to start using it etc to see if they can use the 'fine out of the fridge for 30days/6w or whatever it is' reasoning.

I don't think id be too concerned but it's poor planning on their part really or a failing in their supplier (Royal Mail) that they need to address. My first lot was delivered at nearly 7pm on a Friday night, the delivery offices should be prioritising refrigerated deliveries so I was surprised it was even that late!

CoastalCalm · 21/07/2024 21:56

They have replied saying if received within 48 hours their cold packaging means it is fine but then also said if received outside of that period use within 30 days - it was received within 24 hours of receipt by Royal Mail so satisfies that part but no idea how long it took from ZAVA to RM. There was no ice left at all in the packs. I think I will go ahead and use it but I won’t be ordering with them again
