@mcdle oooohhh, thanks for that! Will have a play later. Do you have the paid version?

@Thanksforyourlackofthought you are kit alone in things going pear shaped with jabs, believe me 😂 I bought some of the insulin needles for my bonus dose and it was very easy! I think there's a link in the main thread to the type to get. Mine were from UKMedi

Re the weekends, I've been on my own until now but DS is back for a month on Monday and, not gonna lie, I’m really worried about the food side of things 🤦‍♀️ Which is sad as he's been travelling for 6 months and I should be purely excited about seeing him 😬

Nope, just the basic free one and the plans seem pretty good 👍

Thanksforyourlackofthought · 20/07/2024 10:51

@IReallyNeedThisToWork Havent heard of family chemist so will have a look, thanks. I’d rather not keep switching providers but it’s a pricey solution so needs must.

Depending upon what strength you need the Care Pharmacy may also be worth a look.

I use MedExpress and they just match the cheapest I can find plus I keep a constant provider and I avoid any conflict of interest.

Callmejudith · 20/07/2024 11:20

Spin was horrific. I need a nap.

SarahB88 · 20/07/2024 12:49

Thought I’d weigh myself this morning as I don’t feel like I’ve had a fantastic week on my final 2.5mg dose, my proper weigh in day is Monday. To my huge surprise I’ve only gone and lost 2.5kg since Monday! That’s my biggest loss so far! A total of 5.6kg off in 4 weeks which is about 12lb so nearly a full stone, I’m very impressed!

I’m at 100.9kg so would be amazing to see that in the 90s on Monday but I think I’ll have to wait until next weigh in for that but I’m so pleased!

5mg is in the fridge ready for Monday.

Thanksforyourlackofthought · 20/07/2024 14:50

@Happycyclist Thanks, I’ll take a look. First week and I’m on 2.5 but so far, so good.

Callmejudith · 20/07/2024 16:08

@SarahB88 thats great!!

Out and about and realised I’ve not eaten anything since early this morning. Went into Joe and the Juice and got a chocolate flex protein shake - absolutely delicious

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 20/07/2024 16:11

@SarahB88 Wow! That's a fabulous loss! 🤞 for you on Monday!!

@Happycyclist thanks so much for the suggestion of Care! I have sat down with paper and pen today and looked at the specific providers I am interested in and they really do come out on top😁 Lowest price guarantee, price matching, includes needles and swabs and free next day delivery. Could well have found my new provider, with no need to post a code and one I can stick with 👍

Happycyclist · 20/07/2024 17:33

@IReallyNeedThisToWork
Happy to help .... glad it looks OK for you.

Ineffable23 · 20/07/2024 17:40

@IReallyNeedThisToWork - thank you for asking. Wasn't feeling great but got up and did a 17 mile bike ride and went for a swim in the sea and am now much recovered.

Nice thing about cycling (on my own, in the countryside) is no one cares how fast I go so it was just lovely recovery moving in the sunshine rather than a killer diller exercise regime.

I don't think I will be drinking that much again in the future. A single reasonably sized glass seems fine so I think I need to stop at that.

Happycyclist · 20/07/2024 17:46

@Ineffable23 I am planning a chunky ride (180ish miles over 2 days) and really shitting myself about my endurance.
In the past I have always described myself as fat but fit. I have a good load to lose and am really concerned at how I will cope with the longer rides.
Due to go for a reasonable training ride tomorrow.
Time will tell.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 20/07/2024 17:49

@Ineffable23 sounds like a perfect way to blow the cobwebs away!

Yes, fat but fit would have been my description of myself. I probably could have done a longer ride (my normal full route is about 28 miles if I head in that direction) but I was very soggy and sandy from my dip in the sea so I cut it short.

Callmejudith · 20/07/2024 18:38

@Ineffable23 glad you weren’t suffering too much and got out on your bike! @Happycyclist how long until your ride?

I have a beautiful bike outside in the garden I really need to get back on it.

coffeeandteav · 20/07/2024 19:00

How is everyone?

Catching up with the thread now. I have been on a work trip to France. I have eaten crossiants, lots of baguettes, red wine every day, bags of crisp and it has been so hot my feet swelled.
I didn't take my jab as my oh does it and glad I didn't as it was so hot. So I am 2 days late in taking it.
Jumped on the scales expecting a 7lbs gain as that is normal when away. Surprise Surprise only 1 pound gain. I was totally shocked.

I think the key is not snacking and going periods without eating. I ate quite a bit at meal times though and did 10k steps a day.

What I did find interesting was observing my thin fit collegue. She was desperate for a salad had loads with her meal, she left half of nearly everything, had fruit for breakfast, ripped her baguette with sandwich filler into two and got a M and S super salad at the services where as I got a cheese pasty and crisps. I don't know if I will ever be like my colleagues but smaller portions of my fat foods is helping. I was 2 days late for the jab maybe I would have had a green salad at this point if I had had it on time. However previously I would have had 2 pasties and a sausage roll and chocolate so a small win.

She also went jogging 2 mornings. I was way too tired.

I'm just too much of a scaredycat to brave a spin class. I'm worried it would be horrendous and I wouldn't be able to leave 😅 on days like today cycling outside is wonderful. For the rest of the dire weather this year it has been off-putting!

Happycyclist · 20/07/2024 20:20

@Callmejudith It is not until September but I wish to lose 20 pounds between now and then (should help with the hills) and I really don't know how I will be having lived on a calorie deficit for so long buy then|||
I would normally regularly ride 40/50 miles but just not whilst dieting.

I have just gone up to 3.75 yesterday and today I should have been cycling but I am soooo tired I just want to sleep.

JomonotFomo · 20/07/2024 22:24

After 1 week of 5mg and 2wks
of 3.75mg I’ve gone back up to 5mg, fingers crossed that the symptoms are bearable….

Callmejudith · 20/07/2024 23:31

@Happycyclist yes you need some serious calories to fuel that type of ride! I remember the first time I did a 100 mile ride I just ate and ate and ate

just on the way home from the party it was bloody brilliant - such good dancing! Only had two g&t and a shot and then loads and loads of water

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 21/07/2024 07:51

@JomonotFomo 🤞🤞🤞for you!

@Callmejudith sounds fab! Glad to hear you had a wonderful time😁 I’m going to see Romeo and Juliet tonight - always hope for a different ending 😩

Isitovernow123 · 21/07/2024 09:14

Hi all

A little update and potential warning for all you Mounjaro users.

I’m finishing my third month (2nd with 5mg) and have lost 9kgs so far (20lb ish) so am really happy. Going to have another at 5mg and try to get to 2 stone target loss.

Please please please do drink at least 2-3l of non caffeinated fluids whilst taking this. As other have said, it really helps with the loss.

I sadly didn’t heed this advice, and also didn’t account for water loss whilst running (30-40 miles a week).

As a result, I’ve just been released from hospital following a kidney stone. My first (and hopefully last 🙏). I know it was a combination of factors that caused it but it could happen to you if you don’t watch your fluid intake.

Last piece of advice. Don’t drink low sugar caffeinated drinks (zero/max etc.). These are also really not good for you. Good old fashioned water will do perfected!

Well done everyone so far!

CoastalCalm · 21/07/2024 09:27

Week 7 weigh in and two big milestones

Into the next stone bracket and loss over the two stone mark

Starting weight 18.12.5 lbs and today 16.12

That said I have been feeling awful on 5 so I think I’m going to drop back to 2.5 , got a 7.5 pen being delivered today but the weakness and light headedness has got too much for me and need to protect my kidney function as have CKD

Callmejudith · 21/07/2024 09:59

@CoastalCalm 2 stone!! Absolutely brilliant! No harm in dropping back down - there’s no point suffering

@Isitovernow123 oh no!! Thanks for the heads up though I am reaching for my water right now

Callmejudith · 21/07/2024 10:01

Saw one of oldest friends at the party last night. We have always always yo yo dieted together. She immediately commented on my weight and sent me a message saying how good I am looking this morning. I feel so so guilty. I am considering telling her but going to have to swear her to secrecy. Not sure what to do

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 21/07/2024 10:30

@Isitovernow123 I am so sorry to hear you have been so unwell😩 but for to hear you are on the mend. Yes, it's crazy how important the water is and your story is a warning for anyone not drinking as much as they can during this. Hope your recovery is swift x
