Whoop WellDone on the 1 stone loss it’s such a significant milestone. I’ve been away this week so not had opportunity to weigh myself will have to wait until Saturday but I’ve found it relatively easy to stick to healthy eating as we’ve self catering I bought bananas & apples as snacks and it’s got to be the first holiday in years I’ve been on and Not eaten chocolate every day in big amounts. The only treat I’ve had is a brownie which it took me two days to eat as it was rich plus a handful of chips when we bought a sharing bowl. It’s actually been good for me as I was nervous if I started eating nice treat food I wouldn’t be able to stop again but I really haven’t wanted it. This drug is amazing I actually feel like the rest of my family around food now it’s fuel not an addiction I can’t control.

Has anyone got any particular things they are looking forward to following the weight loss?

Mine are

  1. Go to a theme park with my daughter and not be the bag carrier because I'm too scared in case I don't fit
  2. I love sewing (hence the name) but don't make too many clothes as patterns for plus size are pretty limited and the extra fabric costs a lot! I also hate most clothes on myself at the moment and spending hours on something to not like it is heartbreaking.
  3. Getting rid of the pain I get in my foot from walking. It's very much weight related.

This actually happened to my oh at Alton Towers recently. He was mortified and had to get off the ride. He has since lost 2 stone.

Callmejudith · 11/07/2024 11:27

@Thanksforyourlackofthought I would do it tonight (Thursday) then you get hopefully sleep off any potential effects. Make sure you have a nice protein rich dinner beforehand. That seems to help me.

@daffodilandtulip that's bloody great!

@thesugarbumfairy whoop for a stone that's so so good

@Summerheels I actually think that's the best thing about MJ - it just takes away all the faff around food and you actually get to enjoy a few bits here and there

mandarindreams · 11/07/2024 11:28

Bit the bullet and asked Voy if I could stick on 2.5mg for another month - I may come to regret the decision but I think it's worth me spending a bit longer adjusting to the medication and figuring out how to eat 'correctly' on it rather than just relying on firmer suppression to keep me on the straight and narrow. Experimenting with reintroducing a light breakfast as I think holding off eating until lunch meant that, when I got there, I was making poorer choices because I was a little bit too hungry. I'm hoping that a little breakfast in my stomach will mean that bread and potatoes call to me less at lunch...

For those who have done the 'hard twist' for your bonus dose, were you able to do it manually or did you need a tool (pliers or similar)? Trying to decide whether to do that or just to go ahead and order some syringes.

Callmejudith · 11/07/2024 11:29

For me in terms of things I'm looking forward to:

  • Being able to wear all my slim clothes - I actually threw out all my tiny stuff but even if I can be a solid size 12 I'd be over the moon
  • Not avoiding the camera and hating myself in every single photo. Going on holiday in August and I'd love to have good family photo. When we were away last year we got all dressed up and I just looked AWFUL in the photo I was devastated.
  • Not having a double chin (hopefully)
Sewfrickinamazeballs · 11/07/2024 11:40

I somehow thought tomorrow was flab jab and weigh day, but it's today. I think 5mgs must be lasting longer as I'm not obviously ravenous like I was a couple of days before jab day on 2.5.

So this weeks stats.

SW 17st 3.4
CW 16 2.5

Loss this week 3.9 lbs
Total loss 1 stone 4.9lbs.

@mandarindreams I used my hands at first, was ok but hard so used pliers in the end.

OP posts:
Sewfrickinamazeballs · 11/07/2024 11:43

Staring weight was 17st 7.4 (not 3.4)

TheShellBeach · 11/07/2024 12:21

OP how many weeks have you been on MJ?

We started at about the same weight. I'd love to be almost under 16st!

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 11/07/2024 12:28

This was the end of week 5

This was the end of week 5

Thanks!
That's very good progress.

I'm down about 11lb after 13 days.

I'm just on the cusp of seeing 16st 13lb and I can't wait.

This stuff is wonderful.

I've seen a graph of how it stays in your body and day six of 5mg is the same as day two on 2.5mg (or something!)

@TheShellBeach

Me too.
I was 17st 0.4 yesterday and 17 stone exactly today.
Can't believe I'll be seeing 16st 13 soon!

Snozzlemaid · 11/07/2024 13:43

My new favourite pastime is looking through my wardrobe and finding clothes that fit again!
Instead of trying it on and quickly returning it to wardrobe as it's too tight, I keep on finding things I can wear again.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 11/07/2024 13:54

Things I am most looking forward to:

  1. Not catching my mother’s cat’s bum face when she looks at me in disgust
  2. Never having to wear a seatbelt extension on a plane again!
  3. My knees not hurting
  4. Buying something from Zara! (don’t know why but this is a real thing in my head! 😂🤦‍♀️)
Batlady78 · 11/07/2024 14:14

Random question but can anyone post a pic of what your Voy parcel looks like? Is there any mention of Voy on the external packaging?

Batlady78 · 11/07/2024 14:17

Just finished week 4 - a stone down in total.

SW 103kg
CW 97.1kg
IGW 90kg

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 11/07/2024 14:35

@Batlady78 Just looked to see if I can see the outside packaging but think I’ve got rid of it. Still seem to have the inner bag though😂

No mention at all on the outside. It just said keep refrigerated!

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 11/07/2024 14:56

@IReallyNeedThisToWork I'm adding the Zara thing too. I keep seeing people wearing things on tv that I like (looking at you long floaty silver heart shaped cardigan) and when I look, it's always Zara!

This was the 5mgs. The first package was a box, totally plain (but beautiful and colourful on the inside)

@Sewfrickinamazeballs We will have to model some Zara buys when we get there! 😁

Re my Voy second pen question, I have had an email today saying my next order has been approved and that it will be sent on Monday (Wednesday is jab day). Cutting it a little fine for my anxiety but I feel better knowing it’s on its way👍

Callmejudith · 11/07/2024 16:46

I love the Zara goals!

That burger last night has given me a terrible headache today.

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 11/07/2024 17:31

@IReallyNeedThisToWork yes! I am so in for this. I totally get what you mean about the mum cat bum face. My mum (sadly passed a few months ago) had this. I can relate!

Re delivery, sounds like it's on its way.

@Callmejudith hope you feel better soon.

@Batlady78 wow! That's awesome.

@Snozzlemaid what a great way to really see the impact of the weight loss.

@thesugarbumfairy well done!!

So many of us hitting that first stone loss. So good to read these successes. It works. It really really works.

coffeeandteav · 11/07/2024 17:49

Just taken my 3rd 5mg. See if I get any nausea this week.
