Just taken my 3rd dose of 2.5mg. I've only lost 1.7kg so not exactly a poster child for MJ but I guess a loss is a loss. Will def. go to 5mg after 4 wks.

SW: 101.4kg
CW: 99.7 kg

I remember a diet I was on five years ago, and getting under 100kg was such a big moment for me.

Of course, the pandemic came along not long after that and gradually I crept back up, to 119kg.

QueenOfHiraeth · 09/07/2024 13:55

@DazedAndKerfuddled The other thing I have just seen mentioned is Green Tea, how or why I don't know but it was on one of the US feeds

@ChynaS It is infuriating that some people lose so fast and some of us so slowly. Keep going though as it all adds up, I'm on week 9 and have just lost my first stone but I know if I had been "normal dieting" I would not have lost that much (if anything!) and it would have been harder.

TheShellBeach · 09/07/2024 13:58

I think what makes this so much easier is the sense of satiety.

On conventional diets, I'm always so HUNGRY!

QueenEthelTheMagnificent · 09/07/2024 14:32

Hey all. I can across this thread on another topic, and after a horrendously disappointing visit with my gp yesterday I'm thinking that starting this may be the best thing for
me. Can anyone point me in the direction of a 'beginners guide' thread? And once I sign up with a company do they help? And what's this about getting extra needles and extra doses? many thanks x

Summerheels · 09/07/2024 14:36

I’ve only ever lost weight eating 1200c or lower (I’m short) & still at 1-2lbs a week if I’m lucky kinda girl. MJ takes away the food noise & just makes it SO much easier to eat a balanced health diet. I’m still logging daily everything on MFP but I’m choosing to eat salads because I feel good and I’m not hungry for a pudding after! This is huge change in how my body reacts to food instead of constantly needing sugar & carbs that feeling has gone. I actually had half a chocolate brownie out today (I have walked 20,000steps already today on hols), & it was more than enough …what has happened to me 😂

Have a read of the main thread no16 I think on the first post is lots of information that’s helpful.

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 09/07/2024 14:46

@QueenEthelTheMagnificent As below, the main mounjaro thread has a great post on how to get started. Regarding companies, I'm with Voy. They have lots of information on how to get started with the jabs and have some great support available including coaching. I have asked them for additional needles before (sometimes they get bent). Regarding extra doses, the pen has 5 doses of liquid but only lets you dispense 4. The 5th bonus dose can be accessed in a few ways which are described on the main thread post.

If you're interested, this will give you £85 off your first order.

I didn't bother with my GP, but honesty this has been the best decision I have made. I have lost over 17lbs in just over 5 weeks. It truly is life changing, I wish you all the best on your journey. Stick around if you get started, they are a lovey bunch on here.

I think my 5mg dose is working. I’m still getting hungry but my sugar craving and urge to snack have gone.

Hunger is definitely easier to take care of than a voice saying ‘you really want one of those cream cakes’.

It’s made me feel a bit zonked over the last two days though. I’m not normally someone to nod off at 7.30pm.

TheShellBeach · 09/07/2024 14:59

Ooh, two people have used my discount code.
If another one does, I'll get my next pen for nothing!

I’ve had one so 50% off which I’m delighted about! I’ll post mine again once it resets.

Summerheels · 09/07/2024 15:12

No one has used mine yet if anyone needs one I got a 5mg pen for £122 using someone else’s code.

There’s no better gift than the gift of good health. Use my code and you’ll get 15% off your first order at ZAVA: REFBF2R3

SarahB88 · 09/07/2024 15:27

I woke up feeling really hungry today 😩 had a slice of toast for breakfast and a little salmon salad with a boiled egg for lunch and I’m now feeling full but was disappointed at how hungry I was. I only did my second 2.5 jab on Monday so I’m hoping this is a one off and I’m fine for the next couple of weeks until I start on 5.

mandarindreams · 09/07/2024 15:35

Just done Jab 4! I'm hoping for a bit of relief from the noise as it's definitely starting to creep back in. Having to work quite hard to resist the afternoon snack temptation - made myself a big mug of mint tea in the hopes that it moves my brain on from cravings.

I feel like a spambot but I'm going to have to make a call in the next few days about whether or not to stick with Voy, so posting my code here in the hopes that it might make the decision cheaper and therefore easier: https://joinvoy.com/r/U-pl9G3iafw6

Callmejudith · 09/07/2024 16:09

@QueenEthelTheMagnificent definitely have a read of the main thread linked above. So much useful information in the first post. This is 100% the best thing I've ever done. I don't think about food at all and the weight is falling off. I usually have to slave to get 1lb off. It's truly magic. I'm also with Voy. Their resources and customer service is so good.

@SarahB88 I generally wake up hungry if I haven't had a protein rich dinner - could that be the same for you?

Whoop to code usage - it's so exciting isn't it!

coffeeandteav · 09/07/2024 17:27

My hunger and food noise are back with a vengeance. Due third 5mg on Thursday.
The pattern seems to be feel totally sick for 3-4 days and lose weight. Eat the last few. Already on 1600 as I was so hungry.

I am losing overall but not sure its ideal.

Snozzlemaid · 09/07/2024 18:32

I find that I do have days when I'm a bit hungrier but I do still get full much quicker.
So I'm not stressing if I feel hungry, I just pick a snack of fruit or protein of some sort and I'm full again without having to stuff my face.
Sometimes even just a cup of tea will fill me up and get rid of hunger. (Never in a million years did I think I would ever say such a thing, what has happened to me!?)

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 09/07/2024 18:33

@coffeeandteav can I ask what you are eating as your 1600? And how much water are you drinking?
At the risk of sounding like a Facebook loony, it’s the protein and water that seem to stop the hunger 😁

Callmejudith · 09/07/2024 19:21

For the first time in almost 4 weeks I had two coffees today - bloody hell I was completely hyper!

DazedAndKerfuddled · 09/07/2024 19:23

Thank you! I shall try that too! Today has been a little better tbh, still not nice but definitely not as bad as the previous few days... im really hoping it is just the surprise of a double dose being as i went to 5mg and that it settles soon, or at least becomes manageable... honestly i have never had anything like that before, its awful

Thanks. Today you are right I didn't have loads of protein.
Its as though once the sickness has gone the old me is back and wants the tasty cakes ( avoided cake though). I did have cashew nuts as I am panicking about gall bladder issues. Spaghetti bolognaise, a twix, cheese, a tortilla wrap, watermelon.

TheShellBeach · 09/07/2024 19:34

Golly, I feel so full up this evening.

It's time for my third injection tomorrow. As time goes on I'm finding the 2.5mg working more and more.

I reckon I could still eat a load of ice cream though

Very weird! As if the suppression only lasts as long as the nausea does🤔 Or that you are only nauseous as long as the suppression is working!
Would it help to plan more protein rich meals on days 5-7?
And not have twixes in the house 😋 (I know! I bloody love them!)

Thanksforyourlackofthought · 09/07/2024 20:02

Hi everyone. Signed up with Voy today. Looking forward to starting, planning to do it alongside a low carb diet.
where do I find the main thread please? Want to learn all the tips! 😀

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 09/07/2024 20:05

@Thanksforyourlackofthought Welcome!! The ‘main’ thread is ‘continuing Mounjaro 16’. LOADS of good advice and sooo much experience. If you have time, read some of the previous threads too. Good luck!9

coffeeandteav · 09/07/2024 20:05

@IReallyNeedThisToWork

The twix were on the table at work. I have resisted since 2nd June until today.

Yes thabks good idea I should definitely plan better for later in the week.
