@coffeeandteav Blimey! I admire your Twix resistance!
Just for interest, are you a biter or a top/ bottom eater? 😂

Notcms · 09/07/2024 20:16

I'm barely eating at all.
Made protein noodles for lunch, had a few mouthfuls of broth and couldn't face it.
Had 1/2 portion of cottage pie later, then a tiny bag pork scratchings this evening for protein.
So under 700 cals and still loosing very slooowly but not hungry which helps.
On week 6 now , just had 2nd 5mg jab.
Anyone else?

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 09/07/2024 20:34

@Notcms I really, really don’t want to come across as the food police (and believe me I am not perfect!) but pork scratchings??? Have you looked at the nutritional values?

A top bottom eater? So bite the top then the bottom?
Oo I will try this next time.

@Thanksforyourlackofthought hello! Good luck on your journey.

@coffeeandteav I wonder if we need to eat through the ick, like your told to do for morning sickness (I know it's the last thing you want to do when not feeling great). After my first 5mg, I felt really sicky, but forced half a protein yoghurt from Aldi down as I was starting to feel a little light headed (highly recommend them, lovely and creamy), and felt much better. I think I was just running on empty.

@TheShellBeach there is a graph somewhere that shows the slow build up each week of the drug in our bodies. It's so fascinating to feel this play out in reality.

Anyone else feeing a different type of hunger? I can't put my finger on it, but it's no longer the 'my stomach is sooo empty, I need to fill it up as soon as possible until it hurts' feeling, but more a 'hmmm, feel a bit peckish, probably should eat a bit and see how I feel afterwards' type feeling. It's so odd. Is this really how slim people feel. It's so alien to me. If I felt this all the time naturally, I can see why people think being overweight is purely a will power issue.

I'm struggling to drink enough water at the moment. It fills me up so much, I am struggling to eat. Maybe I need to eat soup more to make up for it.

@Sewfrickinamazeballs

I wonder if eating through the ick would work. It's when I lose weight though which I know is the wrong mentality.

Being consistent every day may help though.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 09/07/2024 21:02

@coffeeandteav I eat the biscuit off the bottom first and then have the chocolate covered caramel. Like two biscuits in one! 😂

Have had entire discussions with year 8 about how to eat a custard cream too! 🤦‍♀️😂

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 09/07/2024 21:11

@coffeeandteav it might. It's worth a try. Maybe the drop in blood sugar on the icky days is enough to push those cravings over the edge on the other days. I had a couple of super low calorie days on the weekend, I had four squares of chocolate and a glass of wine Monday. Not the best, but I think I was making up for the weekend in a way. I need to be more consistent, which is a healthier and more sustainable way to take this forward long term. I can't not eat for days once off this stuff!

I think what makes this so much easier is the sense of satiety.

On conventional diets, I'm always so HUNGRY!

I could not agree more with this. Whenever I usually start a diet I am immediately STARVING

Callmejudith · 09/07/2024 21:45

@coffeeandteav I'm so sorry that you're suffering.

@Notcms it definitely sounds like you need more calories. Could you drink some? That clear protein stuff is quite good. Maybe sip a protein shake throughout the evening?

@Thanksforyourlackofthought welcome to the club!

@Sewfrickinamazeballs I know exactly what you mean with the new kind of "hunger". I really want to ask my slim friends if that's what they have.

QueenOfHiraeth · 09/07/2024 22:06

@Notcms I don't mean to piss on your chips (that would make you queazy!) but you really need to find ways to eat more or reduce your dose so you can.
The one thing we know about losing weight is that starving or extreme calorie restriction usually leads to weight regain.

You should be using the medication as a tool to allow you to eat smaller portions of healthy nutrient dense foods so you can maintain that goal weight when you get there

intelligentPutty · 10/07/2024 07:43

Hey, so had my 3rd 2.5mg dose yesterday..
End of last week i was sooo full with all food.
Today I am hungry in the morning, like aching stomach hungry, after dose 3 is that normal.. I was thinking of staying on 2.5mg but now not so sure...

Summerheels · 10/07/2024 08:28

I stalled for a few days in week3 and felt hungry so I actually increased my calories for a couple of days to 1500-1600 from 1200 and then whoosh lost 2-3lbs. My body was telling me I needed food. Others on the main thread have said same happened. I just had an extra banana for carbs & protein it worked for me.

Callmejudith · 10/07/2024 08:35

@intelligentPutty morning hunger for me always comes after I haven’t eaten enough protein for my evening meal. Yesterday I did a really full on strength class and came home and had a salmon fillet and a pack of Jamie Oliver curried chickpeas (YUM) and I’m not hungry at all this morning.

Huge NSV for me this morning - got into a pair of trousers I’ve not worn for 3 years! Then discovered a hole in them so they had to go but hey ho!

Btrsun10 · 10/07/2024 08:39

I eat pretty much the same each day (in work anyway).

Start with a multivit dissolvable tablet mixed with an electrolyte & magnesium tab in a 1l water. I aim for about 3l a day.

Greek yohourt with a tea spoon of honey, frozen pineapple and cherries (which defrost by the time I come to eat them) and a sprinkling of protein granola from Lidl (for a bit of bite).

Lunch is normally grilled bacon, tomatoes, cream cheese and a bagel thin - IF I can manage it.

Dinner on gym days is a protein (salmon, chicken or steak) with small amount of potatoes and or salad.

I've been having an occassional treat.....a Freddo - only 1 not the pack of 6, which I would easily have done before!

My favourite weekend treat is homemade guac and a giant bowl of cheesy doritos.

Seems to be working....I dont want to drop my cals too low. I'm terrified of maintenance and want to be eating as normally as possible if / when I get there.

Voy code for anyone that needs it.

Agree with this. Every diet I've ever done, when I've hit a stall I've done a refeed and it has worked! Got to try and fool our bodies unfortunately.

Btrsun10 · 10/07/2024 08:42

Also, I'm a full fat everything girl! Along with the protein it definitely helps to keep you fuller longer than low fat (high shite) alternatives.

Summerheels · 10/07/2024 08:52

Yes I agree my yogurt is full fat Greek & I’ve really noticed if I don’t hit my protein target I get hungry later in. I’m aiming for 80g protein a day from food sources I don’t like protein drinks as sensitive tum. It’s working for me. I’m away at the moment and I didn’t hit my protein yesterday as busy got distracted and was noticeable hungry so had a GetPro yogurt and struggled to finish it. I’d normally have a couple of boiled eggs in fridge or babybel cheese & nuts.

Callmejudith · 10/07/2024 08:54

Yes 100% full fat everything

daffodilandtulip · 10/07/2024 08:58

As this is essentially a diabetic medication, I'm starting to think I was pre or diabetic. I used to wake in the night having a sugar low, needing to get a drink or banana to go back to sleep. I would wake starving in a morning. If I had a sugary/carby meal in the day, I would need a nap.

That's all gone. I feel so much healthier overall.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 10/07/2024 09:11

Morning!
End of week 3 weigh in this morning and I’m down another 3lbs! After a weekend of curries, bbqs, burgers and wine, I’m amazed!!

F800 SW: 17st 7lbs
MJ SW: 16st 12lbs
W1 -7lbs
W2 -4lbs
W3 -3lbs
CW: 15st 12lbs!!!!

I am a stone lighter than when I did my first jab! 😱
Roll on week 4 and what new surprises this stuff can bring!

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 10/07/2024 09:42

Just asked my year 9 they said eat the top and lick the custard.

JomonotFomo · 10/07/2024 10:27

@IReallyNeedThisToWork fantastic!

@Callmejudith love an NSV!

I really need to eat more and get some good habits, I think it was @coffeeandteav who said about feeling yuck for 3-4 days and then ok for 3. On the yuck days I can barely eat, the only things that don’t set the burps off seem to be dry crackers, but that’s not sustainable. I’m going to stay on 5mg for a while anyway so hopefully it will even out and I’ll be able to eat something non beige.

I agree. I an finding the overhaul of the diet more difficult than I thought. Thought calories are definitely reduced.
