@fairydust11 I take it Friday evening. I am absolutely knackered the following day and have had to have a nap most Saturday and Sundays

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 07/07/2024 10:24

We had a conversation on this thread (or previous thread) a while back about reasons we are not telling people why we are taking this. The thread below explains a lot. Don't want to derail our lovely supportive thread, but just wanted to flag this up as it shows the misconceptions of the drugs and the overwhelming opinion that we all just need to 'eat less and move more'. It really makes me quite sad to read some of the comments on this

Amazing to read the losses on here! Well done everyone! I've ended up only posting once a week on weigh in day but I need to revisit this thread more often, it's so inspiring. My weight loss is slowing down, which was probably inevitable, but I'm taking the 4th dose today and feel like I'm getting into good habits 🤞🏻

Overall weightloss: 1 stone 🥳
1st week: 6lb
2nd week: 5lb
3rd week: 3lb

SW: 13st
CW: 12st
GW: 10st

Hitting that first stone is amazing! Well done.

Thanks @mandarindreams & @JomonotFomo I think I’m going to try injecting in the evening for this weeks one. 🤞 that will help me a little better with the tiredness & overall exhaustion.

Callmejudith · 07/07/2024 10:50

A lovely girl at my gym class came over to me to comment that I’d lost weight - absolutely delighted!

Some more great losses well done everyone.

I take my jab in the evening after dinner, no tiredness so definitely works for me.

fairydust11 · 07/07/2024 10:54

Congratulations @Callmejudith I think those kind of positive comments are just the best boost!

Thanks yes, I’m definitely going to try injecting tomorrow evening for this week’s dose.

Beeble21 · 07/07/2024 12:07

After 4 weeks of 2.5 I’ve lost 7lbs!
I have been strength training at the same time so sometimes it seems slower in comparison but I know that’s how that goes and I know it means I’m getting stronger.
Yesterday I took my bonus 2.5 plus 10 clicks of my new 5mg pen making it 3.75(ish) and next week I will go up a bit more before full 5mg week after.
I was ready to move up as the suppression wore off quickly the last week.

Callmejudith · 07/07/2024 12:15

I started reading that thread in AIBU about injections and gave up. That's exactly why I'm not telling anyone I'm on MJ. They can all bugger off ;)

Exactly!

I'm absolutely not telling anyone (apart from DH and DD).

TheShellBeach · 07/07/2024 12:42

I've been surprised by my results so far.

I only had the first injection of 2.5mg on Wednesday am.

I was 17st 11lb then.

Today (only 4 days later) I'm 17st 4lb

I've lost 7lb in 4 days. I'm not surprised because I've eaten so much less.

CoastalCalm · 07/07/2024 13:01

Just ordered my 7.5 pen - I might actually stay on 5 and count the clicks

Callmejudith · 07/07/2024 13:06

Wow @TheShellBeach that's actually mental!!

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 07/07/2024 13:08

@fairydust11 I take mine in the evening - around 8pm when I’ve finished work and fed the dogs😁

I am not sure about tiredness as I’m generally a pretty poor sleeper anyway but I have found myself going to bed earlier (probably due to the newly limited interest in drinking more wine!) and waking up around 6 am ready to get on with my day which is very different!

TheShellBeach · 07/07/2024 13:28

Callmejudith · 07/07/2024 13:06

Wow @TheShellBeach that's actually mental!!

I know. I knew I'd eaten a lot less, but 7lb in four days is, as you say, mental.

It'll slow down. I expect it's water weight. But it's cheered me right up!
🤣

JomonotFomo · 07/07/2024 13:48

@Sewfrickinamazeballs i started to read it but it just made me cross.

Like lots of us, I’ve been on a diet since my late teens so over 25yrs of trying and failing in a battle with my weight, over which period my start weight has increased by 4stone. I’m just fortunate so far that this hasn’t had any major impact on my health.

It’s a bit like when those who are blessed with good sleepers are told “just get them in a good routine” as if it’s always that simple and you must be pretty stupid not to have done that, it’s a total unawareness that for some it’s not as simple as that. Move more certainly doesn’t help with weight loss although it obviously has benefits.

I also can’t tell certain family members because they start the “oh you mustn’t lose too much” when I’m still way above a healthy bmi.

Husband knows but that’s it. I’m a really open person, but I can’t deal with the stigma or the judgement.

TheShellBeach · 07/07/2024 13:51

Yes, why do people do this?
It's weird.

On the one hand you have people berating us for being fat to start with, and on the other, there are people adjuring us not to lose "too much" weight.

FFS we can't win.

JomonotFomo · 07/07/2024 13:54

@TheShellBeach I know, it’s like sabotage!

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 07/07/2024 14:08

@JomonotFomo I couldn't agree more. My overwhelming take home from that conversation and others I've had (and not just related to weight) is we need to be much more live and let live. People are very quick to project their beliefs, reality and experiences on others. People also seem to very invested in how other people go about their lives, even if it has zero impact on theirs. I think weight loss is particularly impacted by this. How I lose weight has absolutely nothing to do with anyone else, yet feels like it's an open goal for people to take shots at.

Anyway, NSV, I finally have some energy back to do some decorating I have been putting off for ages! I'm not sitting on the sofa snacking and saying I have no time as an excuse, but getting on with something productive and physical.

We're going on holiday on the exact day the new pen is due.

Will they send it a couple of days early, does anyone know?

Summerheels · 07/07/2024 14:46

Completely agree @JomonotFomo & laughed at the “good sleeper ” babies my first was not one of those she refused to sleep through the night until aged 5+ it was brutal especially being a first baby I completely lost myself. She turned into an amazing teenager who’s competing nationally in her sport and id bet is adhd. My 2nd slept like a dream but turned out to be autistic, and really interestingly has the same issue as me with limited resistance around carbs & sugar. I 100% know this is genetic hormonal imbalance & the instant reaction I had on just 2.5mg has proved it too me.

Summerheels · 07/07/2024 14:48

Well done @SwiftPeak we are following a similar pattern I hit 12st Saturday but now I’m away this week so it be interesting to see how my body behaves whilst on holiday. I’d be happy with a maintain or 1-2lb loss.

WeAllHaveWings · 07/07/2024 14:48

fairydust11 · 07/07/2024 09:53

@JomonotFomo & @mandarindreams well done, great losses.

I have just weighed in for week 3 & have lost 4lb so in total have lost 9lb since starting 3 weeks ago! I’m very happy considering I only lost 1lb in my first week!

A quick question, I know it’s not supposed to matter what time of the day you take it, but I usually take in mornings & then feel really tired for a few days after - I’m thinking maybe of taking it before bedtime instead, does anyone take it later in the day & not feel as tired? I know this might not work for me & tiredness might just be something I’m more prone too, but was wondering what times of day most of you took yours.

That is an interesting idea changing the time taken. I am currently taking mine on a Saturday afternoon. I am so tired again today, but unfortunately starting Mounjaro two weeks ago coincided with catching covid for the first time the very next day and I am not sure which one is causing this tiredness! Or is it stress at work (50+ hour week last week catching up on project work I missed when off ill), or significantly reduced sugar and caffeine. Just too much going on at the same time!

I've ordered some high strength vit B and D to try to give me a energy and mood boost and I am on annual leave next week which should help. But will now keep an eye on whether it gets worse around the day and time of injection.

JomonotFomo · 07/07/2024 14:51

@WeAllHaveWings ive just ordered a load of vitamins too!

Summerheels · 07/07/2024 14:51

I think some of the tiredness is our bodies adjusting to getting its energy from harder to access sources. My consumption of sugar & easy carbs has dropped 80% and replaced by protein & veg & fruit but when I’ve been struggling with tiredness a banana or apple has really helped.

JomonotFomo · 07/07/2024 14:54

@Summerheels my second is autistic and not a sleeper too. My others apart from my youngest have all been varying degrees of awful. So I have picked up a lot of “helpful” tips over the years 😂
