There are so many weight loss injection threads, but I thought I'd start this for anyone feeling a bit deflated by their slower than average loses. It can be disheartening to see others losing multiple lbs per week when it is a slower process for some.

This morning I have crossed over the threshold from obese to overweight. 😃🎉

letshavetea · 04/12/2024 08:04

@BackToWegovy - well done. That’s a great achievement.

Azuresky68 · 04/12/2024 08:34

@ShrinkingMama @BackToWegovy well done on your losses. It's been quiet on here lately. Hope everyone is OK? It's my first week with barely a loss .3 of a pound. I am onto my last 9 pounds, well 8.7 pounds now so I have a feeling it's going to be tough!

QueryA · 04/12/2024 11:07

Its so sloooowwwww. I've lost 1kg this month (2.2lbs). I am probably not dieting hard enough , I know for instance the glasses of wine have crept back in. I must get back to writing down everything I eat. not calorie counting as such, but just being more aware of what I'm eating and keeping track of it.

Only 3 weeks to Christmas and I would love to be into the next stone down. Its only 1.6 lbs away. You'd think that would be doable in 3 weeks!

Dithercats · 04/12/2024 17:57

Stupidly slow still here on 12.5mg.
But still going 🙂 BMI now 23

Sadteacher · 04/12/2024 20:35

@ShrinkingMama I’ve gone up every month, in the hope I might lose an extra pound or two. It’s an expensive way to lose a pound a week! But I haven’t lost any faster moving up doses either. I guess it is better than sticking to the same dose and staying the same.
@QueryA iwonder if I’d do better if I ‘dieted’ too, I’m brilliant at drinking my calories!

Ifyounevergiveup · 05/12/2024 09:05

@BackToWegovy oh, how thrilling! That’s a huge achievement and I hope you feel so proud of yourself 💐

On Saturday my stall at 11 stone 1 will have lasted four weeks. I’m proud of myself for hanging on in there but Jeez, come on! In order to keep my Zen going, here’s a little list of reasons for me to thank Mj.

I have clavicles.
My stomach doesn’t touch the top of my thighs any more.
I am comfortably in the overweight zone, not obese (thanks for the inspiration for that one!).
I am three pounds lighter than I was 44 years ago (and I’ve never been this light since).
I am wearing clothes which have been in the wardrobe for eight years (and even then they only just fitted; they’re comfy now).
I haven’t binged since June.
I don’t think about food until I’m hungry.

So here’s to hanging on and hoping this stall is my body resetting. Interestingly today is jab day (well, I split my 10mg dose so I have two jab days technically, but the amount of Mj in my system is at its lowest) and yet for the first time in three weeks the dreaded slurry is back. Might this mean that we will see movement (other than 💩 😂)?! 🤞🏻

Ifyounevergiveup · 05/12/2024 09:15

@Azuresky68 just a supportive gee up from me…you’re doing so well to continue on and carry on losing with 800-1000 calories, in fact I’m totally inspired and am going to review my 1300 to see what I can trim. I know there’s still wriggle room in there because I count everything I eat and 1300 calories still allows for snacks. I would love, just LOVE, to be under 10 stone for Christmas even if I do have to be on a proper “diet” rather than eating healthy but plentifully. I know I shouldn’t care so much about the numbers, but for me the very concept of 10 stone anything is just fantastical. The last time I was that weight, I was at primary school! So thank you, my friend, I will review my intake and see how things go this week. Love to everybody including those who are quiet at the minute (hope you’re ticking along, @LeafUsAlone , @Pinkyp22 and others!).

Oops…1100 not 1300…I don’t even think I’ll be able to eat that many at maintenance! Pesky hormones…

Azuresky68 · 06/12/2024 08:50

@Ifyounevergiveup thanks so much for your kind words. I broke my rule and got weighed again today..it appears I have lost 2 pounds! Thats only 7 pounds to goal. Very strict calorie control but I find that I can barely eat on first few days of 10. HOWEVER...you can think you are not eating much and the sneaky Christmas treats bite you on the bum. My fella bought a box of traditional Turkish delight and I had 4 cubes...that's 290 calories 😱 but it still only brought me to 800 calories. Normally I eat healthy stuff but I think it's OK to have a little treat if you count calories. 2 mincecpies last week instead of lunch..that was 430 calories. He bought another box yesterday and I just thought naaah, they weren't that good compared to losing weight!
If all goes well I should be at goal in January, then on the Ouschk maintenance plan. After Christmas I am not going cold turkey 🦃 on MJ 😅😅😅

Ifyounevergiveup · 06/12/2024 10:03

@Azuresky68 you and me both; today, at last, I am 11 stone nothing! So 10 stone something by Christmas is still on the agenda even for a Slow Losers Club member 😀. I am finding I’m doing the same as you; I fall for something which will have tempted me last year, count its calories as a meal, and I’m yet to have anything which makes me think “ooh yes, I still love you”. Keep going!

Azuresky68 · 06/12/2024 11:45

@Ifyounevergiveup fantastic news on the weight loss. You must be over the moon. I had worked out on my weekly weight loss I would be 9 st 7 pounds by next week and then I am away for 18 days to escape Christmas in the UK. 10 mg is giving HUGE suppression and I have another pen on order then going down to 7.5 in January.

Thanks, I've decided to stay on 5 for now. You're right it's so expensive but it does feel consistent which I've never been.

I do struggle a bit with other threads and a Facebook group I'm on. People seem to be losing so fast and they're sad if they only lose 1.5lb a week. I'm trying to not compare.

BackToWegovy · 04/12/2024 07:11

This morning I have crossed over the threshold from obese to overweight. 😃🎉

That is absolutely amazing!

Azuresky68 · 08/12/2024 13:09

As previously mentioned, I went to 2 foodie get togethers on Friday. I didn't go mad but ate more than normal. Shock horror! Couldn't get scales to work for a while. Sorted it. Stepped on and scales said I had gained 2 kg and scales asked if I was sure it was the correct person weighing, so I said no!! Will wait until next week before I go away to get weighed. Not too bothered, to be honest, as I know the body retains fluid after carby stuff.
NSV I have some nice dressy clothes that I bought which fit multi sizes ifywim? Tried on a few things yesterday to take on next holiday. I don't normally get dressed up but as it's Christmas and NY decided I will take them..black lacy stuff and floaty trousers..just wondering if 'the boyfriend' will notice 😅😅😅 PS I am 68, he is 69. We don't live together by choice. I don't like calling him my partner...is he too old to be called the BF? 😅😅😅

Ifyounevergiveup · 08/12/2024 14:46

@Azuresky68 of course he’ll notice because you will look wonderful! I know what you mean; I don’t like “partner” and calling a 65 year old my boyfriend seems somehow derogatory! I call him Himself in writing but have never found a word I’m happy with when talking about him. I tend to just reference him by name and hope people realise I’m not talking about one of the cats 😄

😅😅 I haven't got any cats or dogs!

letshavetea · 09/12/2024 10:59

Hi all, I’ve enjoyed reading your updates and progress. I took my 11th dose last night. Have just progressed to my first 5mg pen - injected 3.75mg as I’m still having some nausea, burps and indigestion. Strangely though nothing this morning!
I’ve now lost just over half a stone in 10 weeks (two on holiday). So, definitely a slow loss compared to many people. I feel good though and my monitor your weight graph shows it’s slowly going down. I feel less bloated and my jeans are loose. I’d have probably given up now at this rate of progress (as I’ve done so often in the past). Just going to keep going though.
I hosted my family this weekend for a pre Christmas get together - I allowed myself a small portion of Christmas pudding yesterday. It was okay, but not as delicious as it usually is.

Azuresky68 · 09/12/2024 16:59

What's going on? I jabbed 10 mg last Wednesday and suppression was OK Thursday, then Friday was the fuddle day..went over my calories. Saturday and Sunday kept to under 1000 calories and today I can't face eating at all..literally had nothing. I made a chicken and veg soup and can't eat it! Going to have a protein shake now as I am working tonight. Very confusing 😕

Pinkyp22 · 11/12/2024 10:06

Hi everyone

Can anyone enlighten me on the medexpress price match!?
I have just had my request rejected, although theybdont say why 😂. Reading the terms and conditions they actually only price match against a very select few pharmacies - the most expensive ones!
@Ifyounevergiveup @Azuresky68 how are you both doing

Azuresky68 · 11/12/2024 12:48

@Pinkyp22 why not give MedExpress a call? All I know is that they only price match full prices, not ones already discounted. Also maybe post on the main thread where more people can answer your question? Thread is called Continuing Monjaro...23. I am good thanks, with 7 pounds to go. Hoping to get there in January. Currently on 10mg with another 10 mg in the fridge. The suppression is a bit too high...it's my jab day and I haven't eaten at all as I am not hungry. Making a chicken soup with lots of vegetables and going to drink clear whey raspberry lemonadedrink to keep up protein levels. How are you doing today?

Azuresky68 · 11/12/2024 13:10

Hi all. I have just seen another thread called 'Mounjaro for steady losers' I am sticking with this one as I have got used to everyone's names and stories. Hope everyone is doing OK, although Christmas can be a difficult time for lots of reasons. I am trying to avoid my biggest downfall..mince pies. So far had 4 in total over a couple of days but in my calories allowance. In the past I would have eaten the whole pack and eaten my meals as well. I am avoiding other traditional Christmas food altogether this year, so hopefully no gain!

Pinkyp22 · 11/12/2024 13:10

Apparently they have updated the policy recently, they will now only price match a handful of pharmacies - all of which are more expensive!!
🎉🎉 Only 7lbs to go, thats amazing! How dis you find the jump from 7.5 to 10? I know @Ifyounevergiveup said 10 was a bit too much for her. I have just ordered 10 but I will just filter up slow.
I am at home poorly this week, think ive had covid 🤒🤧 so havnt weighed myself, but hoping to get to 3 stone loss by Christmas! Ive had no appetite at all so 🤞

Azuresky68 · 11/12/2024 13:45

@Pinkyp22 sorry to hear you are poorly - get well soon. I am retired although I have kept one job on, which is at the theatre. Today, I am really happy to have a day at home and some me time under a heated throw....exciting times! I am away on Sunday until 2nd January 🌞 10 mg, which has given me HUGE suppression. It's jab day, and I have not been hungry. There are no terrible side effects for me either. Anything that I have I treat with appropriate meds..indigestion is the worst, sometimes nausea and also headaches. The worst was 5 mg - I constantly felt sick. Got another 10 mg pen, then a 7.5 for January. I'm not sure what I will do after that. Good luck with finding a cheaper option for jabs... there is a list somewhere that gives updates. I have stuck with Ouschk as they are good for delivery, customer service, and maintenance support. They have regular offers, too. I have heard Curate are pretty cheap but no idea about service.

Ifyounevergiveup · 11/12/2024 15:28

@Pinkyp22 hello lovely! Good to see you back! @Azuresky68 is right, the website is monj.co.uk and it’s updated all the time. It shows prices by strength of Mj too, which I find really useful. I’ll be going on later to see who will get my business for my new 10mg pen.

Following @Azuresky68’s example, I’ve dropped my calories to 1000 a day and I’m now crawling down weight-wise; as I always do when I drop a pound, I then bounce up one before slowing settling, so I’m teetering on regaining my 11 stone nothing achievement. Stand by your beds for a slurry story because I’m about to use my 10mg bonus dose all in one go, whereas until now I’ve split my weekly dose into two separate injections…be afraid, be very afraid! But actually if that takes me under 10 stone something, I’ll tolerate it! I’ve managed a whole two pounds’ loss in four and a half weeks, so something had to be done. Go slow, @Pinkyp22 , although if there’s one thing we’ve all learned, it’s that you can have a worse reaction to a lower dose then get better as you go up.

@Azuresky68 I hope you have a wonderful holiday. Keep us updated if possible from where you’re going! Love to everybody as ever.
