hello I know there are a few threads in here in for this but would like to start a new thread, for people starting out!!

I have stage 4 endometriosis and have been slowly gaining weight over past few years. Have tried so many things to shift it, calorie counting, exercise, high protein, low carbs and I loose a few pounds but that’s it!

just taken my first dose of mounjaro and really hoping that it works for me!

anyone else just starting??? Anyone got any great motivation for those starting!!

I'm eating less, but consciously eating less. Ie I was eating a bowl of pasta the other day when I realised I wasn't hungry anymore so I just stopped, when previously I wouldn't have noticed I wasn't hungry anymore and I would have carried on. I'm trying to have protein at every meal but it's quite difficult having 100g of protein every day as a veggie and not over relying on meat substitutes.

I did lots of research on both and went with mounjaro due to the higher percentage of weight loss as well as the additional ingredient compare to wegovy. I’m thinking that once I have lost all of the weight and I’m happy I might switch to wegovy for maintenance doses as I believe it may be a bit cheaper? I used someone’s discount code for Voy so actually was £114 for 2.5mg of mounjaro. Much cheaper than elsewhere I looked. I am a newbie - I have received my pen from Voy and I am thinking of starting tonight! Just wondered if anyone had any advice re timing of taking the injection? Can it mess with sleep? Does it matter if you take it AM or PM?

I always take mine before bed because the injection makes me feel so exhausted it’s better for me to be able to sleep rather than walking around like a zombie all day.

I’m on week 2. Took my second injection last night. Lost 4 pounds in the first week. Side effects were extreme tiredness and nausea. I also had a lot of anxiety but I do suffer with this anyway. The jab suppressed my appetite immediately but it started wearing off around day 4.

Day 2 here and woke up with terrible diarrhea , I didn’t eat much day one had grilled steak and toast with a bit of Camembert cheese as I was nauseous . Today nil appetite, everything I drink means running to the toilet 30 m after so had coffee , tea and a a bit of a high protein cereal bar . Trying to drink lots of water too .

What scales do you have ? Am I the only one having the issue that every time I weight myself it gives me a different weight even if it’s 5 seconds after ?

Thank you. I am a bit nervous about the tiredness/fatigue. Already struggling as it is! Hoping I will be one of the lucky ones with lots of weight loss and no side effects!!

I took mine at almost midnight before going to bed , didn’t mess with my sleep at all .

So I’ve had zero side effects. Definitely still hungry.

Ok so results are in for week 1 on 5mg.

starting weight was 13.12stone

weight today was 13:4.6.

so almost 8 pounds lost in first week!

which I’m so pleased at, obviously a lot will be water weight, and I did struggle to eat Anything at all for first few days, but that settled and managed to make healthy choices for rest of week.

how has everyone else got on week 1??? Xx

Well done! That's amazing! How much have you lost in total? I've had no effect on 2.5. I hope I'll start feeling some effect on 5.

this is my total loss, as I was sneaky and started with the 5mg as I was desperate to get some quick results. So skipped the 2.5mg part. Luckily apart from nausea for first few days side effects went too bad and scales show a good loss. Fingers crossed the 5mg will bring some good losses for you

So had my first 2.5 dose yesterday and so far so good. No side effects as yet. Had salad nicoise for dinner but left some as I was full. Perhaps I was just being good - who knows?

That’s great that you haven’t had many side effects! I must admit the second injection of 5mg hit me hard. I took it 4 days ago and today is the first day I’ve been able to eat, the other days I’ve had maybe one slice of toast and a yoghurt, I felt so exhausted and sick I had to take 2 days off work!! Which I never do!

thinking of going down to 2.5mg next week as don’t think I could cope feeling that rough again. Strange how the previous week wasn’t as bad. I asked the doctor about it (ordering through Asda you get 24/7 doctor support) and he suggested pushing through side effects and they should lessen but I don’t know if I could take that again.

How is everyone else getting on? Any weight loss/side effects??

@Belladonna432 oh that sounds rough, hope you are over the worst. So you were ok with your first jab of 5mg then was sick on the second? Do you think that’s coz of buildup?

Yes absolutely fine first week, mild nausea and that’s it. But this week was a different level. I felt absolutely awful. Maybe it was due to buildup. I wasn’t expecting it. I’m going to take 1/2 next week so 2.5mg, at least I will get an extra 2 weeks out of my pen. Save some pennies! And hopefully negate any of those side effects, as I can’t be going sick from work. And also concerned as not eating at all is not a healthy way to loose weight.

iv managed to eat 3 healthy small meals today which is good, so defo over the worst of it.

@Belladonna432 I hope you feel better soon! I’ll be having my first 5mg dose in just over a week and I’m feeling quite apprehensive for side effects as I’ve been quite lucky to not experience any on 2.5mg

Thankyou good luck with your first 5mg dose! I’m sure it will fine as you have done it the sensible way and titrated up, which is obviously what I should have done. But I’m impatient 😂 serves me right. The rest of the week I’ve been ok, still can’t eat much in one go, but have been able to eat. I’m away for the week with a group that doesn’t know I’m on it, so it’s been a little difficult hiding how little I need to eat now. Weigh in day tomorrow so hopefully i have lost more. Not taking next dose until Thursday though as I’m away

It’s time to order the 5mg pen . Where did e fui e order from ? Any codes ? First was with Voy but I found them so slow and it’s so expensive

I order from Asda, but it was £184 so still expensive. No discount codes that I know about unfortunately. I was going to order with Voy but noticed it got really expensive after initial discount. Asda were good, had to send picture of body in clothes and pic of the scales. But after that it was dispatched quickly!

let us know how you got on with 5mg! I was going to take 2.5mg instead this week because of side effects but doctor recommended I stayed in 5mg so am hoping this week is better!

So took 3rd injection last night, weight this morning is 12.12stone! So basically 1 stone lost. So happy been ages since I’ve seen the number 12 on a scale!!!
