hello I know there are a few threads in here in for this but would like to start a new thread, for people starting out!!

I have stage 4 endometriosis and have been slowly gaining weight over past few years. Have tried so many things to shift it, calorie counting, exercise, high protein, low carbs and I loose a few pounds but that’s it!

just taken my first dose of mounjaro and really hoping that it works for me!

anyone else just starting??? Anyone got any great motivation for those starting!!

Tail feather, do you mind if I ask, why did you switch from Wegovy?

Tarsandcase · 03/05/2024 16:53

I've just done my first injection!

Whoop. How much do you hope to shift

I had issues with my gallbladder and was told to stop taking it. I then had surgery to remove it (and you're not allowed to take it before surgery) and then had complications from the surgery (fun and games!). The consultant then gave me the green light to restart, so I thought I'd try Mounjaro as I had to start from scratch again and it's meant to be more effective. (It wasn't available when I was on Wegovy last year). X

Ah, ok. Thanks. Sorry, didn’t mean to be nosey. I’m just getting in to all this. My biggest worry is it will work as it is doing now, and then I won’t be able to stay on it. Then back to square one again.

Anonymous2025 · 01/05/2024 20:32

Thanks . I honestly just want it to work so I’m eager to get started . I’m in no illusion that will be easy but I’m good with dieting and exercise at least 3 times a week ( cycling 8 miles ) , so I’m hopeful .
Can I ask you how you got endometriosis diagnosed? I’ve always thought I developed after my last c section but the gp had no interest

Sorry I completely forgot to message back about the endo, I always thought I had it but couldn’t get a diagnosis and then I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy and during the emergency surgery they found it and gave me that confirmation. I have now had an excision surgery and my periods are amazing no more debilitating pain, heavy bleeding and generally feeling like someone is stabbing me with a blunt screwdriver and twirling it around. !

Hi everyone, I took my first injection yesterday definitely not as hungry and no feeling to snack. I’ve had a little bit of nausea and a dry mouth but that’s it. I got mine from simple Online pharmacy. Orders before 1500 on Wednesday and had arrived by lunchtime the following day, totally recommend x

Cerialkiller · 04/05/2024 17:20

Day 2 of jab 2. 2lb has mysteriously disappeared overnight, hoping it's not an error! Effects have been a fraction of what I had on the first week. No feeling of fullness and getting hunger pangs a lot but I do think I'm getting some food noise reduction at least.

I wonder if the main reason I'm managing so well is because this feels like my last chance. If this doesn't work I'm kind of screwed, if paying £200 a month isn't enough of a motivator then nothing else will be.

Belladonna432 · 05/05/2024 11:33

I’m on day 4 now, and starting to feel hungry again. So just got to keep to good eating until I have week 2 injection. It has been pretty easy so far. Nausea has been much better last 2 days, day 2 was horrendous. I couldn’t eat anything! I have been making a conscious effort to eat nutrient dense food, but it has been hard as I just don’t fancy anything!!

I had my first dose last night . Worked up with a headache but ok otherwise for now . Still unsure about appetite as I normally don't eat until 3 or 4 pm

Taken my first dose ☺️

HorsingAround2022 · 05/05/2024 17:29

Hi all, I had my first dose on Thursday evening, I've not had any side effects, positive or negative. I did start my period on Wednesday so I'm wondering if I might get a drop of a few pounds when that ends.

I don't think I've had any appetite suppressant, although I am finding it easier to ignore cravings. I think it is already helping to regulate my blood sugar as I'm usually awful for snacking on chocolate and I can't ignore sugary cravings, but I find it much easier now. Looking forward to the next dose!

Are you just eating normally as you would at meal times?

CormorantStrikesBack · 05/05/2024 17:49

Weighed myself again as three weeks in, the 2kg I had lost is back on overnight. 🤷‍♀️. Still no appetite suppression. I tried semagluttide before which also had no effect on me. I think I’m immune to them all.

How did you decide on mounjaro over wegovy. I’ve read loads of threads but am utterly confused on which type to go for.

Taken my first dose ☺️

I had my first dose last night at 11 pm . I woke up with a headache but got a bit better with some nurofen , then during the day I noticed a stomach ache when I eat . Cravings are down for sure and I have mild nausea with food or drink even tea but nothing unbearable .
Hope it goes well for you , good luck

I looked at both, but the evidence from clinical trials suggests the Mounjaro is more effective than Wegovy, with a higher percentage of weight loss on Mounjaro. So I picked that. But I think there was only a few percent in the difference

I need to loose 5 stone so a lot . I get married in the summer next year . I have lost it before on the keto diet but it’s not working this time , I’m now 40 and seems to be so much harder to shift weight .

Thanks. I think I’ve pretty much made up my mind that mounjaro is the one for me too.

Took first dose yesterday afternoon and had no symptoms yet. Not hungry but that’s not uncommon for the morning. How long til this kicks in. I’m going to be one of the people it doesn’t work on aren’t I 🤣

I had my 2nd dose on Wednesday and my first week I didn’t really notice much changes at all. So far week 2 has been amazing with the appetite suppression and getting full after eating a small amount. Keep positive!
