hello I know there are a few threads in here in for this but would like to start a new thread, for people starting out!!

I have stage 4 endometriosis and have been slowly gaining weight over past few years. Have tried so many things to shift it, calorie counting, exercise, high protein, low carbs and I loose a few pounds but that’s it!

just taken my first dose of mounjaro and really hoping that it works for me!

anyone else just starting??? Anyone got any great motivation for those starting!!

Have you lost any weight or inches?

I’ve lost 1.5kg but have upped exercise and am dieting but the dieting is as miserable as ever and I fell off the wagon yesterday and had a sausage butty and two chocolate bars so probably put it back on now 😂. I have been losing and gaining the same 2kg for ages.

Day 7 here. 6.5lb off as of this morning. Second jab is tomorrow and really needing it now, hunger pangs are getting bad again. It's really good timing as we are going to a may day celebration on Sunday and it will involve afternoon tea.

I was told it is . It’s taking forever to arrive order Monday still not here . My sister orded for my brother in law from med express and arrived the next day .

I ended up feeling sooooo nauseous this morning, when I woke up had a bit of (tmi) acid vomit in my mouth. Was gross. I’m on a training day for work, but stopped on way to work and got some Rennies, which helped a lot with the nausea.

have got a headache and feel tired but that is probably just from getting less sleep than I should have last night.

hunger wise, wow what a change so quickly, I have felt no hunger pangs, I was conscious I should eat something but the thought of any carbs/fat made the nausea worse so I ended up having some mango and still not feeling hungry at all!! It’s very exciting!!!

It is except it’s a large box, quite heavy and has ‘keep refrigerated’ on the front. I rearranged delivery with Royal Mail to a day I was in on my own and then I put the boxes straight in the bin. The inner box does have ‘voy’ branding but not the outer

Do you have to have a prescription or can you just buy it?

For me the second day was the worst in terms of negative side effects so hopefully that's the extent of it for you. For me the nausea was caused by trapped wind mostly, massaging left to right helped somewhat but it was just a case of waiting it out.

Does anyone else get hot flushes? I'm so used to being cold when I do keto/any dieting but i've been sweating and waking up too warm at night. I'm too young for menopause!

I am just due my 3 injection today, so have been on it for two weeks. Was very nervous of doing it but in the end bit the bullet and ordered from Asda. I am so glad I did, I have had virtually no side affects apart from feeling cold. I have lost 8lbs (need to lose at least 3 stone if not more). I am just not at all hungry and when I am I want to eat a lot less and more healthy choices.

I am still on the 2.5mg dose and if still working at week 4 might stay on this dose.

I’m a bit annoyed Voy send my order to be picked by Royal Mail today , it will get stuck in transit over the bank holiday weekend and probably not cold by the time it arrives . I’ve messaged them saying I would not accept the parcel if it arrived Tuesday but they haven’t replied . I’m just so annoyed by all of it , I wanted to start asap now I’m having to start the process of ordering out someone else all over gain .

The jab doesn't need to be kept cool once you use it and from that i assumed it was fine at room temp for 3 weeks minimum. Not saying you shouldn't complain but might be worth a discussion with them as to if it can still be used anyway? I have been keeping mine in the fridge as I intend to stretch mine out slightly and I thought that this would ensure it lasts beyond 21days.

Does the tracking not say it will be with you tomorrow?

I have also been really cold since my first injection, and ended up taking a nap this evening. And you must be the opposite @Cerialkiller ! Strange how the same medication affects us all differently.

it’s strange isn’t is how you are less hungry but what I’m actually fancying to eat are healthier options! Instead of craving naughty carbs. Can’t quite believe how effective it’s been so far at suppressing appetite!

Yes that seems to be a common effect of MJ. You are feeling the effects of physical hunger, stomach growling etc but can't seem to think of anything you want to eat or naturally want heathier food. I can relate to the first certainly. Usually I'm planning my food hours or days ahead or even making lists of more indulgent food I will eat on an off day. Now it's a struggle to meal plan or even do the food shop as nothing seems very appetising.

Usually a big craving of mine is some kind of warm chewy brownie type thing with chocolate sauce but when I think of it now it's just grey in my imagination rather then an object of desire. It's all very odd.

@Tailfeather I don't understand that dose. I thought the dose was 2.5mg then 5mg then 7.5mg etc. Is 0.25 another way of referring to 2.5mg? (sorry if I am being thick). Are you clicking until you see the number 1 on the pen?

@Badburyrings Sorry!! 2.5!! I did Wegovy previously that starts at 0.25. Sorry for the confusion.

I had my first dose last night (2.5mg) and have woken up starving, really hoping the appetite suppressant kicks in soon.

I also ordered from Asda pharmacy, my order was pending for two days so I rang the helpline and they asked the doctors to approve, but the pen still took two days to get here after approval.

I was amazed that it didn't hurt it all, I didn't even feel it go in! I've had weeks of blood thinning Injections previously so they had given me the fear but luckily with the tiny needle it's painless.

I hope everyone is doing well, I'm hoping I get some weightloss on the 2.5 and don't have to wait a month to go up a dose before I start seeing results.

Had third dose yesterday, still as hungry as ever.

@CormorantStrikesBack hopefully when you go up a dose it will curb your appetite abit. I started on the 5mg and I’m not hungry at all, tried to have poached egg on toast last night and could only eat 1slice, 1egg and gave the dog the rest

only thing I’m starting to worry about is how little I may end up eating. I guess the idea is to try and get as much nutrient dense food when you do eat.

Second dose this morning and weighed in with a 7lb loss from the first week. I'm a bit nervous about side effects. horrible, painful trapped wind on day two so I would be interested to know how everyones week two symptoms were compared to week 1.

Place marking as I keep reading these. Mine arrived yesterday and I’ve tucked it into the fridge until I start on Sunday (am on nights so don’t want to risk side effects along with night shifts and going out Saturday) so starting Sunday as I can commit to injecting on that day every week.

I weigh 12 stone. I don’t have a lot to loose in comparison with some but I can not drop. I regularly fast, I exercise, I eat good food no crap of any thing but I over eat. My portion sizes are HUGE and so I need to be more accountable and im hoping this does the trick.

Hi all, I'm on day 10 and have lost 8lbs!
Actually unbelievable. Just don't feel hungry. I usually eat very healthy meals anyway, just a massive snacker of crap! It's cut that CONSTANT food noise, 'eat, eat eat eat' out completely. Does seem to wear off as I approach injecting day.
Does anyone know, is 2lbs a week achievable?
Can I stay on it forever?
Some people have mentioned being on injections before, what happened that the weight went back on??
I'm worried I'll have to stop taking it, it's the only thing that works!

It's interesting how some don't feel hungry and some do! I had immediate appetite suppression with Wegovy from the first dose. 3 weeks on Mounjaro and I'm hungrier than when I was off it. I don't usually have breakfast, but am waking up STARVING. And continue to feel hungry all day. I hope the appetite suppression kicks in on a higher dose.
