6 weeks into Wegovy, and on my second week of the 0.5 - I'm 12lb down now, just 2 more pounds to a stone off 🎉

givenup123 · 22/04/2024 07:21

@bubbletubble

Well done! 👍 That’s awesome

Achieveanything · 22/04/2024 07:32

@Foostit @LadyWithLapdog @Oldandcobwebby @bubbletubble
Fantastic news, super well done to all of you.

weekly weigh in:
SW 15st 6lb
CW 13st 4lb
Total loss 30lb since 12/1/24

3rd week on 1.7mg- heartburn still there, but nausea, diarrhoea disappeared this weekend- symptoms much more manageable.
appetite suppressed still, slight constipation.

couple more stone to go, beginning to see difference, clothes looser.

good luck to all

Loving reading all losses here, it is working well for so many! I seemed to belong to the super-slow losers group - coming to the end of week 8 and so far lost just about 5 kg - 10 lbs. I'm eating much less and exercising - but weight is slow to shift. Starting 1 mg next week so will see how it goes - luckily no major side effects so far.

It is also interesting to see how different our bodies are - I'm size 12-14, but my BMI is 31.4 (I'm 5.4'' and 13.4 st), while I saw @LadyWithLapdog being similar in dress size but in healthy BMI.

Those of us coming off Wegovy - please let us know how it goes 😊

Hi all. I am just about to take my first jab tonight (a little nervous).

My doctor mentioned that there are, in fact, eight doses in the 0.25 pen. I’m going to take four 0.25 doses, then three 0.33 doses (by counting clicks), before moving up to the 0.5 pen. So that means I’ll have this first pen for seven weeks.

I’m not telling my husband that I’m taking this, at least not at first anyway. I wanted to keep my pen upstairs rather than in the fridge. But I know it only lasts for 28 days once it is out of the fridge and opened. Would it be possible to keep it in the fridge for three weeks then keep it upstairs for the remaining four weeks? Would that be risky?

I think there were 8 does in the Ozempic pen not the Wegovy one. There was maybe an extra one-third of a dose in mine.

Yes, sorry I should have said, I’m on Ozempic. Novo Nordisk hasn’t launched Wegovy in Ireland due to supply issues so Ozempic is the only choice.

So my last Boots pen was faulty, DH attempted to inject me, but nothing came out, Amazingly my appetite was still reduced from the previous week, I've decided to have a couple of days using will power and then collect a new pen over the weekend, consequently weightloss has been slower this week, I haven't missed the nausea one bit

awkwardanduncomfortable · 26/04/2024 10:01

Hi all
I have just taken my 4th dose of 0.25 wegovy
Very few side effects other than a bit of constipation but I have found this dose and the one before I didn't feel had such an effect on the food chatter in my head nor suppress my appetite as much.
Is this normal as you reach the end of the titration dose?
I've got my next dose to take next week which will be 0.5
Thanks!

Hello, 0.25 did nothing for me, maybe slight reduction of portion sizes and thus less food intake. Hunger and food chatter were still very much there. I only lost 6 lbs first 4 weeks, and now coming to end of 8 weeks and 0.5 mg, I've lost just about 10 lbs, so I'm a slow loser and slow responder, I guess. The 0.5 dose has had more effect, but I still get hungry. I do get full much sooner though, and food chatter has started to lessen, but yes, as you get closer to the next dose up, the effects seem to be lessening for some people as body adapts.

So basically everyone is responding to Wegovy differently, there is no "normal" as such. Some people get strong response on low doses, and some don't. For some it takes up to max dose before they feel the effects.

Good luck with next dose next week!

Sandwichgen · 26/04/2024 12:54

I’ve lost nothing on 0.25. However, I’ve been on holiday for part of it and put nothing on - unlike the rest of the group. Ate less than usual, but drank (much) more than usual.

So the jury’s out. Hope 0.5 Has more impact

lastapache · 26/04/2024 13:21

It’s very difficult to dampen expectations isn’t it? Logically I know that most people don’t lose much on 0.25 or 0.5. I’m only on day 2 yet I’m constantly checking in with myself to see if I’m hungry (I am) or if I’m getting fuller quicker (maybe?). Unfortunately wanting to be a super responder doesn’t make a difference, it’s out of my control. It’s nearly be easier if I was to take the medication for something else, so that I wasn’t constantly checking to see if it is working.

Oldandcobwebby · 27/04/2024 09:02

Time for my weekly accountability check-in.

Male, 60, hypothyroidism
10 weeks in and calorie counting - aiming for around 1200 kcal per day
Currently on 0.5mg

SW 197.3 lb
CW 174.8 lb

Total loss 22.5 lb
This week's loss 0.2 lb

Another 7 lb or so to go ...

Well, that's disappointing! Only 0.2 lb lost! I've been doing more exercise and upped my steps by about 6000 a day (and it's steep where I live so any walk is a work-out!). My calorie intake has been fine. However, I'm continuing to struggle with constipation, which is really not helping.

Still, I'm under 12.5 stone for the first time in heaven knows how long, and I can fit into so much more of my wardrobe. It's just a bit of a shock not to lose a couple of pounds.

Will I give up? No, I bloody well won't!

Foostit · 27/04/2024 09:56

Since my third injection I have felt absolutely awful and haven’t lost an ounce this week despite hardly eating. I’ve had severe headaches, nausea and vomiting. I have decided to stop as I was doing well enough before taking it and I can’t continue with these side effects. Good luck for those of you continuing.

Achieveanything · 27/04/2024 12:43

@Foostit
really sorry to hear the wegovy was so unbearable for you- like you were saying, you were doing well before- good on you and good luck you’ll get there.
@Oldandcobwebby
a loss is a loss but with the additional exercise you’re probably strengthening and increasing muscle which may account for the low number, great to see you’re changing your lifestyle for the better and staying so positive. You’ll see good loss next week I hope.

I took my 4th 1.7mg injection last night, the constipation has been really affecting me too this week- I need to up the fruit and veg and do some meaningful exercise… but I do think the wegovy has affected my energy levels.

Will weigh on mon morning. Side effects not as harsh as first couple of weeks thank goodness. No diahorrea and nausea much better. It’s the tiredness post injection that I’m battling.

But I’m determined to arrive at a healthy bmi which means I’ve still go a couple of stone to go but I’ve now started properly calories to be sure when I do stop Wegovy the weight stays in check.

good luck to all

Radish12 · 27/04/2024 14:53

@Foostit Best of luck to you, that's a shame but I'm sure you'll do great!

@Oldandcobwebby Keep going, I'm sure you'll see a decent loss next week!

@Achieveanything Sorry to hear you're lacking energy. Perhaps you need to fake it til you make it and just grit your teeth and do some exercise - people always say it makes them feel more energetic don't they!

I've lost 1.5lb this week which I'm pleased with. 45lb in total now, 20% of my starting weight off, and into the healthy BMI bracket. Loads of people have been noticing and commenting over the last couple of weeks all of a sudden which is weird as no one noticed til then - maybe because I'm tall? I'm just feeling so much better - little things like being able to curl up on the sofa comfortably ☺️

After reading an article today I think this is what I need.
I'm tipping 15 stone and absolutely hate myself.
Where do you find is the cheapest place to buy?
Also. Is it a proper needle you have to inject or like a diabetic with just a puff of air?

The needle is like a puff of air! It's so minute and thin that you honestly wonder if it's actually gone in!

TwoHoots74 · 27/04/2024 22:30

Great thanks. Where is the best place to order from?

I'm really desperate and so got no confidence

Beingacatbed · 28/04/2024 08:54

Hi, after reading this thread it has finally given me the confidence to take the plunge! I cant live feeling like this anymore and I'm at the end of my tether with how i feel and look. Since having a hysterectomy 6 years ago and going into surgical menopause the weight got higher and ability to lose got harder so really hoping this helps.

I put an order in via bolt yesterday evening, does anyone know how ling it takes to be approved? And also is it fairly simple to work out how to do the injections? Thanks

givenup123 · 28/04/2024 10:14

@TwoHoots74
A lot of MN use Bolt pharmacy. I do too. It seems to be consistently cheaper but it has no ‘extras.’ Some companies like Voy also offer tracking apps and online counselling but obviously you pay a bit more. Beware of v cheap introduction’ offers where the first pen is super cheap but the third pen onwards are v expensive. You can swap supplier but you have to be approved again so keep your first photographs.

@Beingacatbed
I ordered from Bolt and it took a couple of days for approval and it arrived a couple of days after that.

It’s dead easy to inject and the needle is so thin I honestly didn’t know the first time if I’d actually done it.

Good luck

There are plenty of codes around
I'm with Voy, and if I'm honest they've been brilliant! One of my pens jammed and they sent me a replacement FOC (I only needed one jab)
Plus I got a half price discount on my first which made it £114
Link for that is here....

joinvoy.com/r/U-xJ0IQ3Vltz

I've also got a £50 discount off Juniper APRIL50 but not sure if that's still working!

Good luck! X

TwoHoots74 · 28/04/2024 19:13

Right. I'm doing this. Going to order tonight.
Is Mounjaro or ozempic or wegovy the better option? I'm all a bit confused by it.

I'm uk based

You won't get Ozempic...that's no longer available for weight loss.
It'll be either Wegovy or Mounjaro

The side effects seem to be fewer on Mounjaro and weight loss is supposedly to be more.....

Good luck! X
