@Achieveanything @BlueMumma2018 The nausea you've described is exactly how I'm feeling. I've decided I'm going to stick on 1.0 for another pen.

The question is, do I do the next jab on schedule, or delay a day or two? Not sure if adding more into my system now will make things worse, or if having a gap will then make it worse when I do inject.

Achieveanything · 15/04/2024 18:39

@Cuzco
im not qualified to give advice but I think you’re right to stay on 1.0mg that is the therapeutic dose.

The company sent me 1.7 by accident (my fault) so when my next pen is finished I’ll return to 1.0

i personally would stick to same day injection- reason being if it’s ALL out of your system the symptoms might be exacerbated when you start again.

im keeping the faith it’ll wear down symptom wise, im ok (ish) now after injecting Fri night.

Wishing you well (and lots of loss!)

Toooldforthis36 · 15/04/2024 22:42

Hey @BlueMumma2018 i get what you mean! Just started the 1.7mg last week - found the 1mg a bit meh…but had a gastric bug which shifted things!?!

I’ve been really having to force the protein in - could easily forego regular food in favour of snacks as just not feeling like much.

Have found the WW program for GLP1 users quite handy to track protein/fruit&veg - it’s more like having to aim for those targets rather than restrictive counting if that makes sense?

On days where I get the sugar urge I’ve been having full fat Greek yogurt with blueberries and a spoonful of choc protein powder - I like the willpowders one - really feels like a sweet snack but gets the nutrition in? Xx

YourTruthorMine · 15/04/2024 23:02

I got cocky yesterday, towards the end of injection week, devoured a huge plate of spag bol, garlic bread and 2 kitkats and wine, woke in the night with indigestion from hell which lasted until this evening. Only saving grace is that I have barely eaten today,

I am usually fine with protein, meat, eggs etc, it's the cakes and sweet stuff that I can't face, and I speak as a former total chocoholic who would happily much their way through an entre pack of biscuits or 100 gram bags of sweets.

Radish12 · 16/04/2024 20:15

Well, I started on 1.7 yesterday and seem to have broken out in hives all over my torso, back and arms 😵‍💫 Not like me at all, I'm not allergic to anything. Plus it wasn't really a massive jump up in dose, because I had previously condensed four weeks into three (so was on about 1.3 per week), and I took a split dose yesterday so only 0.85 - I took a bigger dose than that in one go when I first started on 1.0 and wasn't splitting it.

I'm not too worried as they're not violently red or huge or anything, and not massively itchy (though as a psoriasis girl I probably have quite a high itch threshold 😂), but I hope it doesn't become a regular thing! I'm taking antihistamines but not really sure what else I can do. Has anyone else had this?

(I'm assuming it's the Wegovy, I've not done anything else out of the ordinary...)

Radish12 · 16/04/2024 20:16

@YourTruthorMine I've been there! Hope you've been feeling better today!

Striving4Better · 17/04/2024 21:35

@Radish12 I had hives last year - not Wegovy-related - and Doc prescribed me stronger antihistamines. But the tablets gave me horrible indigestion, so I went back to the regular over the counter tablets that you take for hayfever and they worked fine. Topical creams did nothing.
(My hives, probably stress-related, stopped coming back after about three months).

I hope you're feeling better this evening.

Time for my weekly accountability check-in.

Male, 60, hypothyroidism
10 weeks in and calorie counting - aiming for around 1200 kcal per day

SW 197.3 lb
CW 175.0 lb

Total loss 22.3 lb
This week's loss 1.8 lb

Another 7 lb or so to go ...

I'm continuing on 0.5mg by click counting. I'm not hungry, still no food chatter, and the weight is still dropping amazingly fast.

Today I've hit a half stone milestone - I'm exactly 12.5 stone. That was an incredible mental boost. I can really see my goal in sight! I'm going to increase my exercise with a view to getting on target ASAP. I really never imagined I'd be in this position. It's bloody awesome!

LadyWithLapdog · 20/04/2024 09:40

Well done @Oldandcobwebby

This is my last week, I’ve decided to stop. I lost 6.5 kg in 10 weeks, BMI 24.5. I stretched injection dates by 1-2 days, by accident rather than design. I had wanted to be very strict, as I think the researchers would know better than me how to use it, but life and stuff got in the way. So I took 0.25 and 0.5. I’m still a size 14 but things fit much better. I can tuck tops in and look good from the front or profile! A couple of friends have noticed. Also DH. My parents, kids or work colleagues haven’t made any comments. Overall, I’m absolutely delighted and would recommend to others in the short term. The very best thing is that I got back into exercise and I look forward to this every day.

I’ll see you on the exercise boards!! Good luck all and thanks for the thread.

Oldandcobwebby · 20/04/2024 09:47

@LadyWithLapdog that's a brilliant outcome, and a really healthy BMI. Congratulations! I'm so proud and happy for you. Keep up that exercise!

LadyWithLapdog · 20/04/2024 09:48

Thank you @Oldandcobwebby I’ll be glad to ditch the Senna 😂😂

Foostit · 20/04/2024 10:04

Well done @Oldandcobwebby @LadyWithLapdog 🎉
Week 2 weigh in for me and I lost another 3 pounds so 8 pounds so far. I’ve struggled to eat this week but otherwise felt fine. I’ve struggled with constipation a bit so have been taking senna but then I’ve had a stomach bug over the last 2 days so one extreme to the other. 😂

givenup123 · 20/04/2024 14:51

@LadyWithLapdog @Oldandcobwebby

Congrats to both. I’ve found that in dropping a stone, I can exercise so much easier as I’m not hulking about so much weight. I’m going to start an additional class next week.

I really want this to be a short term help …. not least because I can’t afford to pay £250 a month for the ‘maintenance’ dose and I’d rather not take any medication long term so I’m really hoping this time has retrained my understanding of portion size and got me back to regular exercise. I know I’m v lucky to have no side effects and I’m really not hungry at all so I’m going to stick at 1 and hope it’s all I need then once I’ve hit target weight, taper off to 0.5 abs then 0.25 and stop. That’s the plan anyway!

ive sped read this thread... i stopped at 1mg and got hit with the worst sugar cravings ever.. didnt consider reducing my dose?

Radish12 · 20/04/2024 18:22

Hello, weigh day here and 2.5lb off again. Now just half a pound away from a healthy BMI, which is my first real goal. I'd really like to lose another stone and a half though.

This is my first week on 1.7 and I've really felt the difference - my brain has just quietened right down and I don't feel hungry at all. No other side effects so far either so it's win-win, long may it continue.

I still have my hives but they didn't get worse with the second (split) dose so that's a relief, and they do seem less raised and itchy now so hopefully they're on their way out.

Well done @Oldandcobwebby you're so close now!

@LadyWithLapdog best of luck going forward, do pop back and let us know how you're getting on, it'll be good to know your experiences. I must admit I'm a bit nervous of how I'll feel afterwards, seeing posts like @catmomma67 's 😬

LadyWithLapdog · 20/04/2024 19:10

@catmomma67 some people do click counting eg a 0.5mg dose has 38 clicks of the pen and if you do half the clicks can assume half the dose. Assuming it’s proportional (if that’s the word) and each click corresponds to the same certain amount. I haven’t done it myself, as I’ve been on such low doses anyway.

Good result there @Radish12

givenup123 · 20/04/2024 22:55

@Oldandcobwebby

can I ask please …. Did you just stick at 0.5 dose and, have you been buying ‘larger dose’ pens and counting clicks?

im asking because I’ve moved up to the 1 pen this week and I can barely eat anything. I have no appetite at all and so am barely eating as when I do I feel ridiculously full after a few mouthfuls. I don’t think I’m eating 500 cals at the moment and that’s not good. I want to go back down to 0.5 as that seemed to work for me as I was eating small but sufficient portions.

DollyPlastic · 21/04/2024 09:03

How much are people paying for .1 at the mo? I've found it at £148 but not sure if that's a good deal.

UnicornAndSparkles · 21/04/2024 09:49

Such a positive set of messages recently, well done with the losses everyone.

I'm a few days into 0.5, and am finding it's really kicking in. The side effects (nausea) have lessened and I'm just not hungry. Still exhausted but with 2 pre schoolers I'm blaming them rather than the wegovy!

Cuzco · 21/04/2024 10:42

@givenup123 That sounds similar to what's happened to me on my 2nd and 3rd weeks of 1.0. I'm going to stick at it for now though because I don't want to go backwards and I think it's too early to tell if this will stabilise, or I'll get used to it.

@DollyPlastic that sounds reasonable to me, I haven't found it anywhere for less, unless anyone has any vouchers or discount codes at the moment?

Oldandcobwebby · 21/04/2024 11:07

@givenup123 Sorry to be so slow to reply.

I had bought the 0.5mg and 1.0mg pens at the same time (discount offer from Zava). I found that I get constipated on 0.5mg, so I didn't want to increase my dose and make it worse. I'm losing weight anyway! So, I'm using the 1.0 pen now, but on 37 clicks, so it only dispenses 0.5mg. This has the added bonus that it will last for 2 months, of course! I will need to get 4 extra needles, but these are easily available and quite cheap. (Google "Wegovy needles")

It's clearly not good for you to subsist on 500kcal a day. If I were you, I'd drop down to 0.5mg at your next injection.

Try not to get defeated - you've got this! x

Hi
Thanks so much for responding! I’m not downhearted though - almost the opposite! I can’t believe how well it works for me as I’m lucky and have no side effects at all. But I want this to be a sustainable sensible approach that I can maintain and eating so little is not actually realistic or good for me. My plan was always to hope that a lower dose would work for me and then to hold there and then taper down once I get to my target weight so I can try not to be one of the people who put it all back on once finishing. I just didn’t expect it ro be as low as 0.5 but it looks like it is. Just to be sure I’ve got this ….on the 1 pen, you’ve been using 37 clicks as equivalent to 0.5?

Oldandcobwebby · 21/04/2024 11:52

@givenup123 That's exactly what I meant.

You are so lucky not having side effects! It looks like we've got the same game plan of tapering off gradually when we get to target. I've really got into the habit of calorie counting. I guess I'm going to have to carry on doing it forever! That seems a very small sacrifice for staying slim. I REALLY don't want to pile it on again.

Indeed
Let me know how you get on. You are a few weeks and many pounds ahead of me but I’m determined to get there too!
