Anyone starting wegovy this week?

would love to hear from others starting out.. I’m nervous!

8 weeks in back on Wegovy and 1st down 🙌so a little over 1.5lbs a week. Really happy with the progress. Could go to a higher dose and lose quicker but I like still having somewhat of an appetite and few symptoms. Took 0.75mg dose on Monday after 6 odd weeks on 0.5mg so will stick with that for now. Have been ordering the 1.7mg pens so should get 9 weeks from each pen at that dose. Have my cousins wedding in 8 weeks so would love to have another stone gone by then.

Day 2 after my first 0.25 dose, got a banging headache and my wee is very dark and smells strong. Drinking plenty of water to try and help. Anyone else have this?

Weekly update, end of week 5

Male, 60, hypothyroidism

Start weight 197.3 lb

Total weight lost 12.4 lb
Loss this week 1.1 lb

Less weight lost this week, but my wife is off work and we've been eating out every day, so it's been harder to avoid those calories! All things considered, it's still very pleasing. I've had to put a new hole in my favourite belt - that's two notches tighter!

I've been a little constipated this week, too. Presumably, it's due to increasing my dose to 0.5mg. Nothing to get excited about, however.

@bubbletubble i get the headaches, but I would definitely get your wee checked, although day 2 seems a bit early for it to be the meds

Week 2 update.

Slightly less hungry with the second 0.25 dose, and also getting full a bit quicker - I tried to eat my usual portion size and I felt very stuffed and uncomfortable, so have cut the portion sizes down, but I do get slightly hungry before meal times. No notable side effects, had a bad headache yesterday, but could've been the glass of wine I had with dinner. Still eating healthy, using Second Nature meal planning.

I have had NO weight loss at all this week, which is a bit disappointing, considering I'm eating less and healthy stuff. Third injection today and I'll do some calorie counting next week to see how much less I'm actually eating, or if I'm missing something.

I’ve ordered my first dose, all been approved and sent today with special delivery so hoping it arrives tomorrow.

Really hope I have the same experience of many of you on here and can finally break the cycle of being consumed by food!

I injected my 4th 0.25 today.

Weight loss each week so far:
Week 1 7 lb
Week 2 0.5 lb
Week 3 0.5 lb

I'm thinking I need to start tracking my calories and exercise more carefully - I've definitely been eating a lot less than usual so hoping the weight loss catches up next week!

Ok, ending my first round of Wegovy today, still the same weight pretty much, 202lbs, so 11lbs down. I lost lots at the beginning and then maintained which I think is a success as I've been out a lot in Feb and March and I also had/have a bad cold and had to skip my exercises for 1.5 weeks.

I've injected 0.5 this morning and so far so good, I'm just feeling rotten with this cold.

Oh, and DH had fish & chips once this month and I could barely eat 1/4 of the portion (we would normally go halves, the portion is very generous in our local chip shop). I just could not physically eat more, I'm so pleased to be able to say no when I should, when it's right. I hope this will be the lesson for me from this experience.

I would also say I'm more cranky and have mood swings and I think that's because I'm not comforting myself with food. I need to find a way to release negative emotions, I've been aware of this for years and I feel quite naked now, it's obvious how I was fooling myself into "happiness" or rather temporary comfort and contentment with food.

Hello, happy weekend everyone! I'm 1.5lb down this week, hitting my 2.5 stone mark. I start my third 1.0 month next week and I'm feeling apprehensive as I'm definitely feeling the munchies coming back, but I've got the pen now so not going to waste it! It might be good practice for resisting temptation but I'm looking forward to when I can move up again.

I'm 8lb away from a heathy BMI now and starting to wonder at what point Boots will stop prescribing. I'm hoping to get down to the lower end of a healthy BMI to give me a bit of wiggle room, and I'm still only halfway to that weight now.

Have a lovely weekend everyone, I'm having a big clothes sort out - a much pleasanter task now that lots of things fit me again!

Joining today...have been contemplating wegovy for some time and finally taken the plunge. I'm the biggest I've ever been at around 14stone (5ft7) and with two young kids I just rely on sugar to get me through the exhaustion. Really hoping I haven't made a big mistake doing this. My head says I probably have 🥴

Thanks - wee is fine now, just had awful diarrhoea for two days at least that will help with the weight loss LOL

@bubbletubble haha I’m the same, and just keep thinking well at least it’s not turning to fat…..past three days tens mins after eating and it’s gone……sorry to be graphic 😂

Please tell me it'll get better 🙃 I don't feel poorly with it but it does come on very suddenly. Hoping it's just while the body gets used to it and isn't going be like this every week I take an injection.

@bubbletubble didnt start with me till second dose 0.5 so really no idea, but took grandbaby to zoo today and didn’t dare eat a thing because of what happens 🙄

I've been feeling quite rough today, my stomach feels like it has a rock in it. I can't work out if it's indigestion or if I've let myself get over-hungry, because I'm not feeling the usual signals. Hopefully it'll have improved by the morning, but either way I'm going to try to increase my fluids to see if that has an effect.

Urgh I went up to 1.7 Saturday morning and the heartburn is unreal. Not had this side effect before but now I'm awake with it

Sorry to hear about those feeling rough, hopefully it will pass quickly. I had one awful night last week with really gurgly swirly innards, but luckily it was just one night. Annoyingly the after effects of virtually no sleep are longer lasting... the kids are being particularly hard work and I don't have the energy to deal with it well.

Only down 400g last week, but I half expected it might be up. Perhaps the weekend's excesses haven't taken hold yet :(
There have again been sweets and chocs in the house, plus DC wanted to back a cake on Saturday when our going out plans were cancelled. Also had two pub evenings with wine. Must remember to drink a spirit and diet mixer next time.

Seven weeks until a big ball we're going to which is my first real target to want to be noticeably less fat. I NEED to focus.

Really not convinced the 0.5 dose is doing anything. Second jab tonight.

Hmm I’m stuck 😞 no change for last 2 weeks….just done week 1 of 1.0mg step up too….

going to really concentrate on getting more veggies in, think I haven’t been quite as good on that front, and I’ve had a week long period (thanks menopause). Have done my usual exercise but going to add in some weight training now, just booked a body pump class for this evening 🤞🤞🤞

Hope you're feeling better this morning @Flatleak, heartburn is awful. I'm pleased to say I'm feeling much better today and I've been to the loo this morning - even though the discomfort was in my upper stomach, it must have been a digestion thing. I do now have a huge headache across my forehead which I assume is dehydration as I've been so bad at drinking water. I just don't really want to put anything in my mouth!

You're right about lack of sleep @cuzco, it always seems to happen on a Sunday night too and you're the back foot all week. Seven weeks is a good amount of time - short enough to see the end in sight and keep you focused, but long enough to make a difference - you can do it!

@Toooldforthis36 I love body pump! Well done for keeping going despite the long period, that must be so demoralising and I'm not looking forward to all that myself (I'm 42 so it's on the horizon).

Has anyone had to order a new pen very recently? Just wondering where the best price is at the moment or whom might be doing a discount code?

@Stormin , checking in how you getting on with 0.5 dose? We both had not much effect from 0.25 - saying that my second and third dose seemed to have more effect and I'm less hungry for the first 3-4 days after injection. It seems to wear off as the week goes on.

I just google for a code and use whichever one works out best. Bolt or pharmacy 4 u usually have a code

@ByCoolMoose hi, things are still quite slow but a reduction in appetite, only 8lb down so far but going to keep at it. Yes, both doses wear off for me after about four days, was going to take this weeks early but am going to a do on Saturday and May have a wine or two, so probs safest not to……I haven’t had alcohol since starting so I’ve no idea what it does, whether it interacts or not?🤔
