@ByCoolMoose I use boots, collection within 5 days to store has been the Y are quite good at sending a re-order email in plenty of time 👍

Thanks, I called them and it was ready today, so I have collected and injected!

Toooldforthis36 · 01/03/2024 17:11

@ByCoolMoose yay! Good luck!

Oldandcobwebby · 01/03/2024 18:37

Welcome aboard the losers' express @ByCoolMoose!

LadyWithLapdog · 01/03/2024 21:33

Thank you for the recycling info.

ByCoolMoose · 02/03/2024 13:19

So seems I'm belonging to the group of those who have no effect at all after first shot. Injected it yesterday and I feel nothing, still hungry and constant food thoughts 😒

About the injection - do you stab the needle in to skin and then press the dosing button or does the needle go in when you press the button? I felt nothing but all the liquid seemed to have gone in so I hope I did it right.

Thank you! 😊

Hi @ByCoolMoose, welcome! You're meant to "prime" each new pen before first use (you can find instructions in the leaflet, I won't be able to explain properly here) - I'm not really convinced of what it actually does but I do it anyway! Then you need to turn the dial thing to the correct dose, stab it in (the needle you can see is the entire needle, stab it all the way in - the button just releases the fluid), press and hold the button til the dial stops turning, keep the needle in your body for a further 6 seconds (I do ten to be sure), then you can remove.

If you've done all of that correctly, then it may be that it's not instantaneous for you, but you may well start to feel it over the next few days or next week as it builds up in your system. Don't be too despondent, it's very early days.

Radish12 · 02/03/2024 15:34

Pleased to have lost 3.5lb this week after only 0.5lb for period week last week. Weekly average is 1.9lb.

I have four different milestones coming up over the next five pounds (if that makes sense!): 15% of starting weight lost, 2.5 stone loss, hitting my lowest weight from my previous weight loss journey (slimming world), which I reached immediately before lockdown in March 2020, and hitting the weight I was in July 2015 when I quit my stressful job that caused my initial gain and over-reliance on food in the first place. At the time that was my highest ever weight and I was appalled but since then I've gone up and down but mostly up, so it's kind of strange to be celebrating being that "slim" now. Lots to aim for and keep focused on.

Following my anxiety episode on Sunday night, I switched to a morning jab mid-week (I'm splitting my doses) and felt fine, so I'll be sticking to the mornings from now on.

Boots emailed saying I could re-order and I've gone for a third 1.0 pen, even though I'm only up to week 1 of my second 1.0 pen, I'm just hoping that it continues to work well for me. The price was a big deciding factor in that I must say.

Hope everyone is doing well and having a nice weekend!

LunaLovegoodsLeftEyebrow · 02/03/2024 17:16

Aaaaagh! Forked out £169 yesterday for my next month’s supply and it’s showing as ‘delivered’ but it hasn’t been! The tracking picture is just red (like a close up has been taken of a postie’s coat) and the package is nowhere to be found 😭😭😭😭 Post office is closed, nobody to call. On the tracking website I am just being sent round in circles. I hope they have marked it as delivered to get round the 24hr tracking thing , and maybe it will come on Monday - but I am SO p’d off!!

Radish12 · 02/03/2024 18:10

@LunaLovegoodsLeftEyebrow I've had that with a package with Royal Mail before, I believe it's their policy now to attempt delivery twice before sending to the post office for collection (rather than leave in a safe place or with a neighbour), which is annoying when you're working all week and just want to collect from the PO the following day. IIRC mine was marked as delivered as well. So I think your parcel will probably be safe with the postie, but of course this means that the medication will have been out of the fridge for a long time ... with the weather we're having I personally wouldn't be too concerned about that 🤷🏼‍♀️

Radish12 · 02/03/2024 18:12

It would save a lot of stress if they would pop a card through the door to let you know though!

LunaLovegoodsLeftEyebrow · 02/03/2024 18:32

It’s just arrived! Delivered by Royal Mail two and a half hours after it was marked ‘delivered’!

WTH?

Anyway, huge relief! £169 is no joke.

Thanks @Radish12 for your solidarity at a time of great stress 😁

Radish12 · 02/03/2024 20:17

Oh phew!

Can I ask, there is mention about splitting doses. How do you do this please, is the pen not pre-set?

No it's not. I'm assuming you've not started yet? When you take an injection you twist the end of the pen to load the dose. So some people twist it less or more to get a different dose. You'll need to buy more needles though if you want to take more, smaller doses

Stormin · 03/03/2024 11:42

@Flatleak Thanks. Yes, I have started, still on 0.25 but getting no effect whatsover. Have lost a couple of pound but this is because I am sticking to a rigid diet, still have loads of cravings and very hungry. I go up to 0.5 on Tuesday so fingers crossed, I just wondered the questions for future reference, just in case.... So I'm guessing you just count the lines on the pen to divide it as there is only a marking when you get to the dose (if that makes sense)

Sorry i assumed from you asking if it was preset that you didn't know about twisting to set it.

Yes count or there are click charts floating around online inc Reddit and the threads on mumsnet

Stormin · 03/03/2024 11:53

@Flatleak thanks you, something to keep in mind as a lot of folk been saying it works well……..that is if it ever works for me at all 🥺

LunaLovegoodsLeftEyebrow · 03/03/2024 12:11

@BlueMumma2018 yes. I had a couple of episodes of just randomly feeling and then being sick after one bite of food when I first went up to 1mg.
I’m on month 3 of 1mg now and mostly the side effects have gone, though I do sometimes get horrible stomach cramps - though I have learned that these are usually when I eat sweet things.
Hope you feel better soon.

Don't lose hope, 0.25 is a starter dose. Many people don't feel th effect till 1 or even 2.5 - which is how it's supposed to be!

I'm only on week 1 but not feeling any effects from 0.25 either. Planning to have 3 healthy meals per day from Monday, so hoping it'll help to lose few pounds as this way.

Stormin · 03/03/2024 12:37

@ByCoolMoose It's always good to hear of someone in the same boat......not that either of us want to be in said boat 😂. I am due to go up to 0.5 on Wednesday but thinking of taking it tomorrow and crossing fingers - I have been so good in eating healthy and not going above 1100 calories a day but only lost 2lb. I know every loss is good, but historically I always lose more at the beginning of a diet. Keep me informed how you do 😊

Don't lose hope. I've had episodes when it didn't seem to work at all. Going well at the moment, just fingers crossed it keeps on working. Good luck!
