@starlilly88 oh no. Try not be disheartened. It’s a marathon not a sprint. Have some scrambled eggs or something for breakfast and a big glass of water. It might keep you full for longer.

LadyWithLapdog · 15/02/2024 10:16

I’ve taken my rings off for the first time in ages, without scraping half my skin off, or getting stuck in a panic mid-way.

@starlilly88 it’ll kick in. I didn’t have any side effects, so wondered if I’d done it right. Then the absence of hunger told me I had.

I have an interesting massive yellow bruise from the injection.

JONSWIFEY · 15/02/2024 10:58

I started 3.5 weeks ago and have lost 7lbs so far. I still get hunger pangs but managing them with will power but not half ad hungry as I would be without it. I am starting my 0.5 dose shortly so hopefully that will improve hunger pangs further. I have had little side effects so far.

Striving4Better · 15/02/2024 10:59

@starlilly88 First dose took a couple of days to kick in for me, and then it wasn't a major shift. Indeed, I felt surprisingly hungry on a few days. On the second week, I had a hungry day and ate early before meeting friends at a pub because I couldn't wait - then surprised myself by being happy not to have more food or alcohol. I had a pot of tea instead of the wine and dessert I might have otherwise had.

I've found shots are now noticeable after 12 hours - took last one Sunday morning, couldn't finish unappetising dinner Sunday evening - as I now have a background amount of the drug in my system, so a new shot is just a boost. As I've been controlling my food ok, I've kept with 0.25 for a fifth week. But that's just me, some people say they don't feel anything much until increasing the dose. It's so variable.

BlueMumma2018 · 15/02/2024 11:01

Hi all,

I am struggling to eat this week. I feel like I can quite easily chow down on a chocolate bar or anything sugary but an actual meal or a sandwich makes me gag. Going to go shopping and get some whole foods to stick too. Anyone else cooking for their family finding the willpower hard because you don’t want to eat it 🤣

I was down1.5kg in the first week which I'm really chuffed about. A lot is will power but not having the hunger pangs enormously helps. This week will be tougher, there were pancakes, then we had a nice dinner yesterday and I'm out on Friday night. I know some people said they just aren't interested in foods, but that's not me! I am still able to eat my old normal if I want to. But I am snacking less, and need to look to cut that down further.

Two jabs down, I think I'll take the plunge and order the second pen.

Kelsie78 · 15/02/2024 11:27

Hi everyone, it seems to have all gone tits up for me this past week. Took my first 0.5 last Saturday which I was looking forward to, and then I came on my period 🙄 and have gained 3lb which is disheartening. Any body else experiencing this around there monthlies? Hope it comes off again after!

Nicebloomers · 15/02/2024 12:31

@Kelsie78 i retain SO much water on my period. If you drink loads of water then it helps releases it, ironically. Enjoy going to the loo every 5 minutes.

Just spoke to Bolt Pharmacy via their webchat and apparently Mounjaro isn't coming to the UK until April 2024!

Decided I cant wait until then so taken the plunge with Wegovy as they also had the cheapest price (£147 delivered).

Says delivery Tuesday so i've got a couple days to build up the courage for the injection 😬

So glad I found this forum. Just went for the starter pack and saved a fortune!
Thank you!

Edit: they also had mounjaro to order but i think its too new to try so soon.

I will make sure to up the amount I'm drinking and see if that helps. I must admit I'm drinking more than I did since I started wegovy but not as much as is recommended daily. It is frustrating though isn't it? Hope your journey on wegovy is going well. Thankyou

Anyone not notice anything after first dose? Took it last night and the usual rumbling tummy this morning. I feel fine, no side effects, like I never took it. Gutted if I'm going to have to wait for a bigger dose. I have a holiday at Easter and was hoping to lose a bit before then

I had exactly the same, honesty throughout the first month, I was really disappointed, especially after reading so many comments saying how much people are loosing in the first weeks.

I've now just taken my second dose at 0.5 and I'm feeling it a bit more now. It's not a miracle cure for me it seems, and like you, I'm hoping as I keep going up the feeling of not wanting food will kick in more.

starlilly88 · 15/02/2024 14:38

Darn it, was going to wait for Mounjaro and wish I had now!

I just need patience and hope, that it'll have an effect at some point. I have quite good will power, and have been dieting anyway, so maybe I won't see a big weight drop until it kicks in.

whippetmum1969 · 15/02/2024 14:41

Hi Newbie here!! Aged 55, SW 19st11, just recovered from bowel cancer operation last July. Been overweight most of my adult life. Love crisps cheese and red wine! Love eating out and socials. Joining at the local leisure centre now. 💉💉Just done my first ever 0.25 injection 🙌🏻
Any help and advice appreciated xx

LadyWithLapdog · 15/02/2024 18:39

Good luck @whippetmum1969 and all those starting, and those continuing.

I’m visiting a gym near home tomorrow, a free pass to try it out. Then another one on Saturday and one on Sunday. I’m a cheapskate 😂 but it’s a big decision money-wise and I want to get it right.

On ‘hussle’ you can buy one-off gym passes, again good for trying them out before committing.

Oh2beatsea · 15/02/2024 20:54

Hello everyone. I think I've convinced myself to try it, but please may I ask a few questions, if you're happy to share your experiences?

Do you get one pen that has a months worth (?4) of doses?

How long do you stay on the 0.25 dose before you move up to the next dose?

What kind of weight losses are you getting & how long has it taken (starting weight compared to current weight & over how long)?

Do you have an "exit" plan? Are you planning to come off it and do you have a plan to change colour diet again or will the new habits/reduced portions be enough?

I've got an underactive Thyroid & I'm hoping it acts like a "factory reset" but not sure if it's wishful thinking!
Has anyone got any regrets about going on it?
The only drawback I can see is the cost, but I keep thinking it's more an investment in my health. I've spent a fortune in younger years doing all the usual diets like WW, SW and Lighter Life etc. I'm now menopausal and struggling more than ever & it's affecting me in my job.

Someone mentioned WW and a GLP 1 plan - i didn't realise that this was a thing. Do another's companies offer weight loss support alongside the injections.

It feels like uncharted territories, but I think it's worth a go - certainly nothing else has worked!
Thanks all.

whippetmum1969 · 15/02/2024 21:07

@Oh2beatsea I have an underactive thyroid too x I've started my first injection today
Not sure what to expect! So far nothing.... good luck with your journey x

Lucydoods1 · 15/02/2024 21:42

For anyone taking Wegovy 1.7g - can I ask what colour your pen is? Tks

The 1.7 pen is blue, like a teal colour

Oldandcobwebby · 16/02/2024 08:58

Just off to do my second injection

I'm 60, male, with longstanding hypothyroidism

Results (week 1)
Down 4lb
No hunger pangs
Mild constipation at the start of the week
No desire to snack
No nausea etc

I have never succeeded in losing so much weight in a week! This is like magic! It's a lot of money to spend, but it certainly seems to work. I'm really chuffed. Only another 25lb to go...

Achieveanything · 16/02/2024 09:16

hi all
ive just done my 5th weigh in (first week on 0.5mg) stayed same weight!
absolutely gutted
started exercise this week and have found my appetite not as suppressed but my constipation has increased.
anyone else found the 0.5mg not to be as effective?
welcome and good luck to the new starters!

Yes, my best results were on 0.25 :(

I'm towards the end of my 4th 1.0 and I haven't had the same level of lack of food noise or appetite suppression since. I've had another look this morning. 20 pounds over 12 weeks. I was a bit disappointed with this but it's pretty steady, and no doubt better overall than any other method I've used. If I carry on with my planned 12 more weeks, that would be 40 pounds total with any luck. This would take me to around BMI 27. I know it's still overweight, but I think I would be reasonably happy there and maybe I would have the incentive to carry on 🤔
Maybe as I continue, things might get better and weight loss rate improve!

Thanks @Annwithout
a bmi of 27 is a great goal.
im glad to hear it’s not just me, i really thought as I increased the dose it would increase effect.
i think this is more of a kick start to a lifestyle change to make the biggest and lasting difference.
ive just logged into MyFitnessPal to restart calorie counting and saw that 4 years ago i was a stone less than now… 😏
do you think that going back to 0.25 would help?

I haven't found the .5 as good at all, I'm hungry and not feeling great on it. Not sure if I've lost weight as I don't weight myself but I am looking forward to moving to .1. I have two weeks to go.

smilesonlyforyou · 16/02/2024 11:29

Well I've had my 3rd 0.25 injection yesterday and since starting I've gained about 0.5kg!
Some of it may be water weight as I'm on my period but not getting much in terms of appetite suppression or fullness which is annoying!

LadyWithLapdog · 16/02/2024 11:36

That’s annoying if you don’t get the appetite suppression @smilesonlyforyou I don’t get any fullness or any side effects, but it does reduce the hunger.
