@Delatron yes and I think I've got some blackout lining fabric hanging around somewhere but not sure where. Sadly it's probably in one of many boxes in mum's garage.
I'm curious about these honeycomb blinds, so I might actually get the stick on ones from Amazon. Then I know if it's worth investing for the window to be done properly.
@WitchesofPainswick I absolutely agree with you that hanging something outside is best. But I would need a scaffold up to do that.
In my old flat, in the 2018 heatwave, I stuck a load of cardboard to the window. That was incredibly helpful. But I feel a bit self-conscious doing that here. In the previous flat I was on a very high floor and literally nobody could see into the window. Here, my opposite neighbour would be looking at it. 😂
It is looking like 28, 29° next week here. I'm hoping to go away for a couple of days next week, but the weather forecast is showing that going on for quite some time.
It's funny, when people said to me that we didn't have a nice summer last summer, I was puzzled because I thought it was lovely here. I guess they were wanting 30°. I think we had lots of 25° and sunny last year and it was very nice. I did have to run the air con, but I wasn't obsessing over window coverings.
Once again, I had to spend a chunk of the evening in the garden and I was genuinely amazed how much it had cooled down outside because it's just not registering in here.
