I think this is the earliest in the season that we have reached the letter 'I' in the met office naming system. The previous record being Storm Imogen on 8 Feb 2016.
Its certainly been an active season so far.

Amber warnings for wind for some parts, yellow for the rest, with widespread gales possible across the UK. Some fairly worrying flood concerns too where lots of rain will fall during a rapid snow and ice melt onto frozen ground.

Thanks.

And don't forget Storm Pia wasn't even on the UK list.

Here we go again. Wonder if my wobbly fence will get through this one, or survive once more being propped up by a couple of garden rakesHmm

Thanks op

The storm isn't due until Sunday. Parts of the SW are under an amber warning Sunday evening into Monday morning. Coastal gusts in exposed locations perhaps up to 80mph.

We had the neighbour’s ridge tiles in our garden after Henk, so really hoping they’ve secured them properly before Sunday.

We live on a high up very exposed part of the coast in the South West. Am absolutely dreading this storm. Previous ones have been brutal here, with extremely high waves and many flood warnings. We may even be cut off again.

Ugh yes the fences! Just had 2 panels replaced, but this reminds me to remove the hanging baskets on them, no doubt the top weight contributed to their demise.

Checking in. Looks like a lot of us are in the amber warning area.

Yep, Amber warning here too.
Will be battening down the hatches Sunday.

Our fence didn't survive whatever the last storm was (Henk?) and this is after we had patched it up following Storm Debi. So at least we don't need to worry about it coming down this weekend 🙃 I'm sure something else calamitous will happen in the garden though!

Is Isha as dreadful as some of the sm weather sites are predicting?

Looks like the first proper storm this winter for Edinburgh. Predicted gusts of 70mph +.
Still in the huff that we had no snow.

I don't read any of those sites but Isha certainly isn't a storm to sneeze at, be prepared (depending on where you live) - if you are likely to have power cuts make sure you have some supplies in and light sources, get phones etc fully charged. Make sure everything outside is battened down and not likely to go flying. Don't travel during the storm if at all possible.

Met Éireann has issued an amber warning for most of Ireland for tomorrow from 5pm. It's already quite wild where I am in Co. Cork.

Amber warnings now for all of Scotland, with additional warnings having been issued this morning for tomorrow night. There is a chance of some pretty severe winds over northern Scotland for a time tomorrow night.

I've just got a yellow wind warning for Tuesday into Wednesday, too. Is this likely to be another named storm?

We've got it a bit breezy at the moment here in Cornwall, but it's meant to kick in proper tomorrow I think.

Looks like we have an amber warning.

Potentially. I've raised this in the general warnings thread. At present it doesn't look as severe as Isha, but could be hitting northern areas that will potentially be hit badly tomorrow night.

While the main focus is on the wind, those in the rain warning areas, particularly where there is currently lying snow, should keep an eye on the flooding situation and if prone to surface water flooding, prepare to take their usual precautions.

There is likely to be widespread disruption to travel on Monday, especially on the rail network due to fallen trees.
