I'd rather this than 40+ degrees, it's the lesser of two evils 💁

Lovepeaceunderstanding · 22/07/2023 23:02

I know, feeling a bit depressed…

preggomeggo · 22/07/2023 23:02

I agree, I'd much rather this than an unbearable heatwave.

Hothotdamage · 23/07/2023 07:57

I'd rather have the heat wave , yet more non stop rain today. Had enough.

buzzlightyearsgloves · 23/07/2023 08:00

I'll take this over the 40 degrees we had last year

DustyLee123 · 23/07/2023 08:02

I’m happy with this. Much better than a heat wave.

BooksAndHooks · 23/07/2023 08:06

We are going away first week of August. Was so looking forward to it. But constant rain completely ruins it. We’ve not been to the beach yet this year, looks like we won’t get a single opportunity to.

yogasaurus · 23/07/2023 08:11

Agreed it’s depressing, it also gets expensive to entertain kids in the holidays when you don’t have the option of paddling pools, picnics in the park, packed lunches outside.

continentallentil · 23/07/2023 08:14

It’s miserable.

Not that anyone wants 40c heatwaves but no summer is horrible

user64827777 · 23/07/2023 08:15

I agree, the weather has been terrible all year. Like PP, we don't have to be sweltering in 40C+ but some kind of summer would be welcome.

FloweryName · 23/07/2023 08:16

It’s so depressing. The thought of no decent sunshine and proper warmth until next year is miserable.

CrackersCheeseAndWinePlease · 23/07/2023 08:21

It's been non stop rain where I am, I agree 40 is too hot but it would be nice for it to be warmer with sunshine so I can at least take dd to the park

AbsoIutelyLovely · 23/07/2023 08:24

Yep. Having lived/suffered in hot countries it’s unusual for me NOT to feel grateful when the weathers manageable but this is just so bleak. Going to Scotland next week: braced for rain I think unless anybody can reassure me?!

Delatron · 23/07/2023 08:27

I think we can all agree that 40 degrees is awful and y wants that. Doesn’t mean we can’t wish for a bit of warmth and less rain now. What about all those with UK holidays? Camping, weddings..

It doesn’t have to be either/or.

The thought of this then straight in to Autumn is depressing.

Delatron · 23/07/2023 08:27

Nobody wants that

RudsyFarmer · 23/07/2023 08:28

I don’t mind it and don’t find it at all depressing.

KnottyKnitting · 23/07/2023 08:31

Well of course the weather is shit- the kids just broke up from school!

Expect summer to come back around ... Grin September 3rd!

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 23/07/2023 08:33

God, it’s bloody miserable isn’t it?

I hate this bloody weather.

This!

I didn't enjoy the heatwave. But I'd take a cold, dry day over constant rain. At least then we can put on coats and go outside! The rain just means spending a fortune on indoor activities.

bonzaitree · 23/07/2023 08:34

Hard for parents with school age kids.

weather always better in May/ June if you ask me!

Well that’s not true is it? You just dress the kids appropriately and get out there anyway.

I'm sure all the hot choc snuggling under a blankie people will be ecstatic.

Dontcallmescarface · 23/07/2023 08:37

I'm beyond fed up with it now. I just want to be able to hang the washing out. I'm going away on Sunday for 2 weeks (thankfully somewhere warmer...although ironically, it's winter there), I have no idea how I'm going to get the washing dry enough to pack before Friday.

CrispsnDips · 23/07/2023 08:38

Thank goodness I’ve booked a sunshine holiday in four weeks…

but have booked a week off work next week so will be dodging the rain and howling wind 🙄

mondaytosunday · 23/07/2023 08:38

Low 20s is fine by me. A bit more sun would be nice.
