After the dramatic weather for some over the last few days, mostly covered in the Thunderstorm warning threads, I think it's time to switch to a new thread. After all, we are two weeks into meteorological summer.

Optimistically we turn our eyes towards Spring weather in the hope that we are in the last throes of winter. But March is a capricious month. ... It...

Well I've hung out some washing, bit of a breeze but humid. Might be on the line for a while 😂😂

Or it might just fly away 🤔

Been raining non stop since 7.00 am Gloucestershire, according to rain gauge 17.5 mm

Notonthestairs · 14/07/2023 14:40

It's bucketing down in my bit of Hertfordshire!

UnDruidlyWords · 14/07/2023 14:45

Chucking down in Oxfordshire too, has been all day.

rileynexttime · 14/07/2023 17:58

Would tomorrows forecast winds out you off attending an all day outdoor event in woods in Surrey ?
Or would that be overcautious ?

UnDruidlyWords · 14/07/2023 18:00

Weather station has recorded 31.2mm of rain today, which is going some for this area.

justasking111 · 14/07/2023 18:14

Our reservoir and others looking good for the last week. Much more water than this time last year.

BobBobBobbing · 15/07/2023 14:22

Huge storm just gone over my part of the NE. Massive hailstorm as well- it looked like it had been snowing when I looked out in the garden.

Another spectacular storm over Manchester this morning

Rain and thunder has stopped but I can see another storm coming in from the south.

InMySpareTime · 17/07/2023 12:19

Weirdly nothing at my end of Manchester. Thought I heard thunder at one point and it rained a bit briefly but the ground is dry again already.
We're in a bit of an odd spot here, and often miss the most exciting weathers.

WoolyMammoth55 · 17/07/2023 13:01

We've nothing booked for overseas holiday at the moment, were planning some nice staycation activities over the summer hols - any chance we're going to get more than 19/20 C again this summer?

I'm worried about the continent's extreme heat but at the same time am sincerely hoping we don't get a complete washout! :(

AmbleInAnnBoleyn · 17/07/2023 13:11

Some apocalyptic rain in Cirencester on Saturday, also so sunny we scorched our faces, what a weird day it was!

Delatron · 17/07/2023 18:41

It looks even cooler next week. Not really happy with 17 degrees in July! And it’s been showery/windy/ low 20s for the whole of July now which is a key summer month…quite unusual.

Met Office says no sign of heatwave and temperatures average or just below average. It may improve slightly mid August. But then we’re nearly in to September!

I know this is preferable to the inferno of Europe but it’s a shame not not have some decent temps in July/Aug. As we are then back in to the never ending Winter.

Delatron · 17/07/2023 18:42

In the North it looks to be 15/16 degrees tomorrow!

Where are you? It's stubbornly low to middle 20s in the foreseeable in the SE which I'm happier and relieved to see

InMySpareTime · 17/07/2023 19:54

Manchester is forecast 16 high tomorrow and nothing above 18 until Sunday. I'm in a dressing gown, I feel cold.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want 40s or anything, but it's summer and I'd like a chance at wearing shorts sometime. 25 would do.

justasking111 · 17/07/2023 19:57

Well my hayfever/asthma has never been as bad. The evenings especially. It's miserable.

In the SE - my phone app (not that reliable but still), has a 19 and 2 days of 18 next week. An improvement on the 17 is was showing earlier but not very July like. Would love it to be mid 20s..and the wind is very annoying.

Delatron · 17/07/2023 21:10

Tops of 21 degrees for a couple of days next week. And that’s a high. It’s definitely not mid 20s which I’d define as 25 ish!

Delatron · 17/07/2023 21:11

16 as a HIGH for the north is very depressing.

nomdegrrr1 · 17/07/2023 22:43

I just checked my photos for this time last year and the car temperature reading was 42C. Today I'm wearing a sweater and looking longingly at blankets.

RafaistheKingofClay · 19/07/2023 07:32

I’d like to request a few days without scattered showers please. Really need to hang a few loads of laundry out while I’m at work.

gingercat02 · 19/07/2023 13:25

I lit the fire last night to take the cold damp feel off the house

justasking111 · 19/07/2023 20:29

I wanted to so did DIL but our Grinches aka spouses wouldn't have let us 😂

Smoky1107 · 19/07/2023 22:07

It has just poured down here! Really raining and dark very stark contrast to last year
