Amber warning issued.
Please bump this and keep it bumped.

Large hail possible. Up to 4cm in diameter. If you are in the area, ensure you move indoors if storms arrive. You might want to protect delicate plants. This size hail, if it develops is enough to put dents into things and possibly to smash greenhouse windows.

If you experience large hail, please can you submit photographs with a ruler next to it.

Flash flooding is also very likely in places.

I'm in Manchester too @beenrumbled - we were definitely in monsoon season

We are in the middle of a big thunderstorm in South Yorkshire at the moment. Lots of dramatic lightning and a heavy downpour and it's lasted well over 10 minutes.
My poor peonies are smashed to bits, but at least I don't have to water the garden tonight!

We had a huge storm in Northamptonshire again today. The rain was epic.

The Severn Estuary area has missed all the fun! Not a drop of rain, just cloud and humidity, not even thunder and lightening.

Very disappointed, my 4 waterbutts are now fully depleted and unless I get any rain soon it's watering cans filled from the tap which is never as good for the plants as rainwater 😢

Lots of lovely rain here in east Anglia

If you fill the water butts with hosepipe water it soon loses the chemicals in it and regulates the temperature.

@justasking111 Unfortunately mains water doesn't contain the nitrogen that rainwater does. Nitrogen is harmful to humans but plants love it. I do top up the waterbutts with the hose as we're lucky enough to have a tap plumbed in near the greenhouse, but I think we might be on a hosepipe ban at the moment, so I'd have to be a bit careful! Hopefully the forecast for my area will be accurate this week, as rain is due tomorrow and Thursday.

I've just realised I'm wittering away about gardening and this is the Weather thread sorry 😂 🙈
