General discussion is www.mumsnet.com/talk/weather/4583720-we-need-to-talk-about-the-weather-and-the-potential-for-extreme-heat but I wanted this to be seen by as many people as possible.

My 12 year old is also autistic and I am having similar issues. He is currently in his school trousers (it's the holidays here), a vest, a long sleeved shirt and a hoodie. Last night I went in and unravelled him from his duvet as he was also wearing a fleecy onsie and was absolutely covered in sweat.

In winter I struggle to get him into anything warm. He wears shorts and a vest outside if I fail to grab him in time.

This is going off the point of the thread but this is making me wonder about DS who is 4 nearly 5. He is quite obsessive about a few things and clothing is one of them. Has been point blank refusing to wear shorts for months now, and wouldn’t budge from fairly warm pyjamas and a duvet pulled over him last night. I went in later to open the window (too warm outside earlier) and pulled the duvet back and he was soaked.

I am lying on the dogs cool mat now, fresh from the freezer, eating a fab ice lolly.

Not too shabby.

Hope everyone's keeping up?

I went shopping to our local Tesco earlier to find that all the fridges and freezers had broken down, and they were having to throw all the food out.

Are you in a Midlands town beginning with 'S'? Exactly the same thing happened at our Tesco too. No fresh or frozen food at all.

RampantIvy · 19/07/2022 21:47
