:)

First proper potential for the winter on Friday - if you live in the Peak district and parts of Scotland. Grin

No snow yet in Central Scotland

AlmaMartyr · 13/11/2019 20:21

Snow in Devon this evening on Dartmoor. I drove home with snow on the A30 near Okehampton; more than a dusting. Exciting!

BestIsWest · 13/11/2019 20:56

We never have Snow LostinWales. When the beast from the east left everywhere including Cardiff under a foot of snow, we had nothing. My car did get covered in slushy sleet earlier though.

LostInWales · 13/11/2019 21:55

Are you on The Edge BestIsWest with the pesky warm sea mucking everything up? We must be close to you, there was a photo of the UK from space during the beast and we were in the only place in the whole country where it was green.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/11/2019 22:01

Yay to snow!!!!

BestinWest LostinWales
Two years ago left the house with my wife, not a trace of snow , get 1/3rd mile away and they are thinking if cancelling the buses!!
It was crazy
We are at the confluence of two rivers, at the foot of a mountain with 4 others around us.
It makes the children really cross though, it’s not fair on them.
My neice has snow tonight just outside Blackwood

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/11/2019 07:28

This morning there is hill snow in parts of Wales, the west Midlands and SW England.

It's also fascinating to watch how the models are evolving overall. While we may move towards more average (warmer temps) next week, I'm not sure for how long for, if this occurs. There are mixed signals, but some indication that we may return to cold.

Brother is working in Bath and woke up to a snow, with some light settling. Think it shocked him!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/11/2019 08:47

I bet!

No snow in Edinburgh, but can see snow on the Ochils and the Pentland Hills.
Was a Northerly, and now an East wind.

Perihelion · 14/11/2019 12:56

I'm feeling .....( Whispers quietly ) a bit 2010 Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/11/2019 14:05

I'll be totally honest, so am I.

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/11/2019 14:06

GrinGrinGrin
Almost like a Daily Express forecast.....

Perihelion · 14/11/2019 14:59

Although to go full Express and James Madden (?) We are in quite a solar minimumWink

sproutsandparsnips · 14/11/2019 15:19

There are roads closed near to me, in the Neath Valley. I don't remember it being so early before. Can it be predicted if we may have a colder than average winter?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/11/2019 16:21

Shock Peri!
it is a very quiet cycle.

Not really sprouts. Indications were for a mild start and at the moment I'd say I'm not so sure about that. I'm giving up this long term forecasting malarky before I've even started. Grin

I'd love some snow but we are stuck with freezing cold rain and wind instead. It's not even pretending to be autumn ffs.

BestIsWest · 14/11/2019 18:53

I am on the edge Lost, about 1km from the coast, on an estuary.

LostInWales · 14/11/2019 20:22

Oh, me too Best! Grin

LostInWales · 14/11/2019 20:24

Sorry, came on to say just had insane intense hail/rain. Although that might not be news to Best Wink

LostInWales · 14/11/2019 20:31

Also (sorry, can't keep a thought in my head this evening!) the weather radar is really interesting to watch, so used to our weather coming from the West/South West it's nice to see it coming the other way. Also explains why it feels so chilly.

RunningNinja79 · 14/11/2019 20:47

Im doing a half marathon in the Cheviots on Sunday. There is also a marathon. This goes to a higher elevation. The organisers posted a video earlier of the marathon route today. The snow didn't look great. Im hoping for a bit of snow for prettiness value, but not a lot as I'm worried it will make the route more difficult to navigate.

NemophilistRebel · 14/11/2019 21:00

We are in Keswick next week so would love to know if any snow comes in next few days

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/11/2019 21:45

That will be interesting Running! It could be washed away on Saturday, I'm not sure, the temps are borderline.
