A huge thank you to the two most attentive, informative, rational and lovely forecasters on the internet Flowers

OhYouBadBadKitten · 04/03/2018 07:53

Poor you Gloria!

That band is continuing to head through northern England to bring snow and by the east coast sleet or freezing rain. In Scotland, especially towards the north and east a steady feed of snow showers from the east.

Morning OYBBK,

It's melting slowly so at least it isn't one of those times when you go to bed looking at snow and get up and it's all gone.
Think I'm ready for slightly warmer temperatures now though (like ones that are above freezing during the day!)

Oh gosh, Milton and other lovely posters Blush

OhYouBadBadKitten · 04/03/2018 08:17

Mine has all gone. How tidy of it!

No snowman for me! Thawing here now.

I can forgive it though because my garden birds are DELIGHTED. Sitting in my office with coffee watching coal tits, robins and sparrows. They are flying around chirping away and drinking water from the twigs of bushes outside. Hopefully, they will find some of my feeders and ground food too. Bless their cute little feathers.

mercurymaze · 04/03/2018 08:27

It's so weird how the snow was so thick on Friday night and it basically disappeared overnight!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 04/03/2018 08:57

Forecast temps this afternoon.

Our song thrush had a holiday last week, but today is back in full vocal force! +2°C on the shed this morning; it's brighter and the snow is gradually melting.

8 degrees here Shock

OhYouBadBadKitten · 04/03/2018 12:42

thesandwich, we haven't, I'd like to one day. Gloria is much better than I am at keeping the weather board ticking over when things are quieter person. I tend to be more of a crash in when there's a looming crisis person.

Poor you continued snowy people :(

Discovered a new post severe weather hazard - about 60 million people on the roads and in the shops after being cooped up for much of a week.

We managed to score milk today which was quite exciting! There were only 3 cartons left!

Namelesswonder · 04/03/2018 13:10

Noooooo, snowing again in Edinburgh! There is only so much snow a person can take! Still waiting to hear if schools will open tomorrow, so so hoping they will.

whyhastherumgone · 04/03/2018 14:10

Feel sorry for everyone who still has snow :(

8 degrees and rainy today in Essex. Went outside without feeling like my face was going to freeze off for the first time in a week.

CiderwithBuda · 04/03/2018 14:40

Fluctuating between rain showers and blue sky and sunshine here. Snow melting quite quickly. We found the car! Grin

Feeling sorry for the people who are at risk of flooding. We are ok as not in a flood zone but Somerset was hit so badly a few years ago. I suspect the rapidly melting snow will cause floods in other areas now.

School is back to normal tomorrow but they have emailed to suggest that everyone comes in in mufti and with suitable footwear.

DH got back last night - roads were clear down from Heathrow. He was pleased the path DS had cleared for him but had had to walk through the snow anyway to help some women who were sharing the taxi with him. And he had slightly more sensible shoes in than I thought.

Looking forward to getting back to normal tomorrow!
