Snow and Ice watch - March 2018

Just saw other thread almost full.

Turnipfarmers where do you live? I have never know of snow in March but you must remember it being your birthday.

I'm not there now but it was in the far north up near the Lakes.

Our garden.

Have just been out with DH in the car and roads are currently fine. And we have wine! Sunday papers, a magazine, wine for later and milk. All set!

We've had snow every other March for the last 10 years where I live now - on the ground settling snow not just falling - we're in the East Midlands. It's not at all unusual

It's more likely to snow at Easter than Christmas apparently.
December certainly always seems milder than March these days!

We popped to the maritime museum yesterday and they have a weather forecasting section and a bit all about snow. It is definitely more usual in March than November & December

Still waiting for our snow to arrive. It was forecasted at 11am but now has been pushed back to 1pm.. Its clear blue sky and bright sunshine at the moment which is gorgeous. It is getting colder though as the roof contracts nosily when the temperatures drop.

@Gertrudethestag is that Greenwich, is it worth a trip?

Looks like more snow coming through southern parts this evening into the night. It could be heavy in places. Also expect a significant freeze overnight. Be prepared for a challenging commute tomorrow.

I'm absolutely over the moon that the snow didn't stop anything last night. It can do what it likes now....!!!!

No fresh snow here today, but it is bitterly cold in the wind. Please let it be spring soon. I've had enough of winter now.

Made it home. Might try leaving work before they suspend the bus services next time.

Very heavy snow in N. Devon - not sticking on the roads thankfully as it's too wet from the little bit from last night that melted. Roads looking clear too for journey back to Lond. Fingers crossed!

What route are you taking NowayNoHow? Wouldn’t put money on it staying clear.

Some heavy snow moving eastwards across the SE and along through the south over the next few hours and into tonight.

rafals we normally go M5/A303 but satnav has just redirected us to carry on to M4 because of stationary traffic on the A303... snow getting less heavy as we go north, and M5 completely clear at the moment. Hope the M4 as good!!

Are the blue bits where the snow will hit ?
